Modern riad which really do the things. Located just < 10mins walk from casa port, in the old medina. As a solo female, I feel safe staying there. (walked to casa port at 520am) a good place for tagine nearby which is at reasonable price. Didn’t get to try their breakfast.

No door for the bathroom, and the body shampoo provided is near empty.

Ryad 91 was so accommodating to all of my particularities - needing to be up before the front desk opened officially every morning; being allergic to gluten & dairy (they made me special breakfast that was still complimentary because I couldn't eat theirs) - and they were so kind each morning, and evening upon return, asking about my day.

The neighbourhood is quite intense to be in as a solo-female traveller (middle of the souk in a poor neighbourhood). I might have booked the Ryad anyway if I had known beforehand, but it's good to keep in mind if it's something you might not be comfortable with. I asked to be accompanied by the man working the front desk while hailing my last cab with my luggage to the train. He was happy to help.

This property is amazing. It is just inside the Medina and gives you a taste of Moroccan culture in a safe, comfortable and clean environment. The rooms are not large but large enough and brightly painted with charming decorations. The breakfast is simple but delicious with olives, cheese, Moroccan crepes, breads, jam, butter, fresh orange juice and teas and coffee. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner with delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff are fabulous and so friendly and helpful. I would particularly like to thank Yassin who was very polite, and helpful. The location in the Medina is fabulous but not noisy and is within a reasonable walking distance of Ric’s cafe, the Hassan II mosque and the sacred heart church. We will return.

Nothing - it was all perfect.

The room was small but enough for what needed. Everything was clean. The staff was nice and helpful. They gave us a different room that was ready so we could do the check in earlier. The breakfast was good. (Coffee, bread, jam, eggs) We parked the car in the underground parking of the train station (Casa Port) that was couple of minutes walking from the hotel. It cost 40 MAD for a full day. Good location. We went walking to all of the main places, including the mosque.

This was a very clean, light and airy riad. Its actually more of a hotel than a traditional riad and I was actually grateful for this after staying in some dodgy riads in the past. Everything was good including the air conditioning and the bathroom. The location was great - short taxi ride to the beach and very close to the Casa Port railway station and the medina. I enjoyed my stay with one exception - see below.

My room size - it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in - just about fit a bed and standing room, no where even to open your suitcase or hang anything. This is room 6 so if you stay at this hotel telephone to confirm you are not put into this room and if you are you definitely need to get a discount on the price. Also I read some reviews about the "great breakfast". I don't know who writes these reviews - the breakfast was bread and butter and a tiny boiled egg. It didn't bother me because we had breakfast somewhere else but just confused about the reviews that talk about a great breakfast.

The Ryad is in the heart of the old Medina, nestled in between shops of the souk. The studio room (Zagora) was absolutely stunning, the bed was perfectly comfy, and the little sitting area was lovely. The view is just over the other buildings of the souk (with the occasional cat on the rooftop). It is about a 30 minute walk to the Mosque, and a 15 or so minute walk to the Marina shopping (behind which you can walk along the raised seafront). There are some really nice restaurants and snack bars in the area. The staff of the hotel were courteous and extremely helpful, even allowing me to have my calligraphy workshop on the rooftop terrace! Breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace, under a replica of a bedouin tent, which was absolutely charming! The two gentlemen working the breakfast shift were very friendly and helpful.

The hot water ran out at about 9am on my last day, so I had to have a cold shower. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay!

Convenient location - we took the train from the airport to Casa Port and were able to walk from the train station to the Ryad within 10-15 minutes. The apartment was very spacious and adorable - there was lots of room to stretch out. The laundry machine in the room worked well for our needs. The rooftop was very peaceful and relaxing. We had a magical first evening in Morocco, eating dinner under the rooftop canopy, listening to the call to prayer as darkness started to fall over the Medina.

Being close to the action of the Medina meant that there was quite a bit of noise outside our window that went on fairly late into the night; however, we were tired enough that this didn't disrupt our sleep too much.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. I loved my room, and really wish I could have stayed longer. Don't let the location inside the medina unnerve you - you can literally see the hotel from the gate. If the medina isn't for you, the shopping district is very close by on the other side of the United Nations Square. There are more restaurants and cafes than you can count. And plenty of bars too. All within a 10 minute walk of your room here. That's assuming you even want to eat out at all, because frankly, the in-house restaurant and the roof garden you can eat and drink in is worth staying in for. Brilliant, brilliant place. Wonderful rooms. Great value for money

Lovely location, in the center of the old medina. Nice room over two floors, clean bathroom and bedroom. There is a small fridge in the room. Hot shower if you need it. Despite the central location, you will sleep well at night. Price is the average in Casablanca (which is sort of expensive in general compared to other Moroccan cities for accommodations). Lovely staff, they can organise transport from/to the airport. Nice free breakfast in the morning in the terrace.

Old medina does not feel extremely safe at late night when all the shops shut down (not really a fault of the hotel tho) - the hotel staff says the area is extremely safe , so this may have been just my own impression. in the morning you may wake up hearing the activity from the road/market - I did not found this bothering, on the contrary I sort of liked it, but other people may not.

Loved waking up in the souk. This is a traditional Ryad with lots of places to sit and open rooftop areas. The people who own and work in the place are wonderful and extremely helpful. Good strong wifi. Less expensive rooms might not have a window to outside. Mine had! Very close to one of the souk gates so easy to get in and out (and find) Maybe a minute away from the Bab Smat entrance --across from United Nations Plaza--good ATM access and guys who have free sim cards (and will set it up for you)
