The building and our room were beautiful. The pool is surprisingly very cooling! Location-wise the Riad is perfectly situated - easy to get into the heart of the Medina, but also only a short walk to the closest main street which was very convenient when we were being picked up for guided tours to places outside of Marrakech.

The breakfast was good, but a little bit repetitive and the portions were kind of small. I didn't like the fact that the front door to the Riad was unlocked throughout the day. There was usually someone around the ground floor to check who came in, but, I'm sure they could easily miss if someone unwanted came in. I would have felt more secure if there was a lock - although, I will say at night there was a security guard monitoring the alleyway, which was reassuring.

The location was perfect- very easy to walk to the medina and beyond and also very convenient for taxi drop off and pick up when we first arrived and left Marrakesh- only 5 minutes away. Although it was very close to the medina it was very quiet. The breakfasts were delicious and we appreciated the variety each day on the beautiful terrace. The room was very comfortable and spacious as was the bed. The owner, Jan was very helpful and gave us some tips for restaurants. We went to one of these (table di palais) which was beautiful with great food.

One suggestion- to add water to the breakfast drinks.

We had a wonderful stay. The location of the riad is excellent - in the medina but on the edge where it's a bit calmer. Inside is a quiet oasis and the roof terrace is beautiful - breakfast on the roof terrace was one of the highlights of our stay. The room was large and the bed very comfortable and we had a delicious dinner on our first evening. The staff are really excellent. I would recommend booking an airport transfer as we were met at the taxi rank by Nouri who took us to the riad and was so helpful and charming throughout our visit as were all the staff.

The water pressure was good but the shower temperature would suddenly get boiling hot.

The riad is located in the Medina itself, which makes it very easy to explore the neighbourhood. Everything is at walking distance. We booked a taxi which was great as they are waiting for you at the airport and you are guided to the riad (not reachable by car). We had the room on the topfloor, which was very tastfully decorated and very private. Breakfast on the roof terrace every morning was tastfull and every day a little different. We had some fresh fruit on the first day (melon) and it would have been perfect if there would have been a bit of fruit every day :) As we arrived in the evening we booked the menu on the roof terrace which was very good with plenty of vegetables and an amazing tajine. We ended every day on the roof terrace with a minth tea.

Riad Selouane is a lovely Riad with a lovely staff who are always waiting to help you. We had to leave early the last day (6:00) and didn’t expect breakfast but when we went downstairs, they had prepared a breakfast for us…so very kind. The decor throughout the Riad was beautiful with great attention to detail and still maintaining its authenticity. We felt safe going and coming from the Riad especially at night since there was a guard who accompanied us to our front door. Perfect location to go to all the sites. The rooftop where breakfast was served every morning was a huge plus.

The location was perfect for exploring Marrakesh. The Riad was slightly hard to find but we were sent a handy map beforehand (which I forgot to look at!). The Riad is in the Medina but situated away from the hustle and bustle - it is surprisingly quiet! Breakfast was lovely, served on the roof terrace. We were even given a breakfast on our last morning when we had to leave at 7am. We had a lovely dinner one night in the Riad as well, which was slightly more expensive than eating out in town but worth it for the personalised experience. The room was very nice. We particularly enjoyed the big bathroom with the huge sunken bath.

I was aware that there weren't locks on the door before coming. However, I thought I had read from other reviews that there were safes in the rooms. Ours didn't have one. The Riad did feel secure, however. When putting away some of the cushions in the wardrobe, housekeeping regularly moved some of my stuff onto different shelves, which made me feel slightly uncomfortable.

The accommodation is as presented. Weird that you walk down a small and a little potentially scary alley (if you’re a woman in your own) but then step into total paradise and calm. The staff were friendly, beyond helpful. The breakfast was great. Room tidy every day was good and all our things were safe. We loved it. Would totally recommend.

Personally I didn’t like the cat. I’m scared of cats and it was super playful and just put me on edge. There was hair in the pool at one point but that was only one day and it had clearly been cleaned.

I cannot express my gratitude for the staff at the riad during what was a difficult time given the tragic circumstances that occurred during the earthquake. The guests safety was paramount. Before and after the event we were looked after, nothing was too much trouble, at any time of day. The staff are a real asset. We felt incredibly safe and it had a real family feel about it. Location is perfect if you want to explore the medina and surrounding areas. The daily breakfast was wonderful and rooms traditional in design, with modern features needed in a warmer climate. The star of the show is of course the beautiful boisterous little kitten Bamboo. Missing my breakfast buddy already!

We loved our stay at Riad Selouane - it was definitely a highlight of our trip. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, helping us book taxis and giving us a slightly earlier breakfast than usual one morning due to us having a tour booked. The breakfast was delicious and was beautifully situated on the terrace. The mint tea was one of my favourites I’d tried in Marrakech. Location of the Riad was perfect, slightly tucked away from the busy streets, but still easy to find and an ideal base for exploring - we were able to walk everywhere which was a plus. Our room was clean and very spacious. We loved looking out over the city on the terrace during sunset. Would absolutely book here again/recommend to others to stay when visiting Marrakech.

We loved everything - one minor thing would be that we only received one robe in our room and it would be nice to have two. Otherwise everything was great.

The Riad has a wonderful location inside the Medina. It is in an area where you have some boutique shops and it is not too crowded. It is only 5 minutes walk or less from the taxi stop and easy to get assistance with luggage. It is very quiet inside the riad, we could not hear any outside noise during the day or night. A little oasis inside the busy streets of the Medina. It is within walking distance from the main attractions as well. The room was very comfortable and spacious, the facilities beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was good. The best part was the staff who were very kind, helpful and always with a big smile. I would definitely stay here again.
