Hotel is close to the central station and one can easily plan trips for nearby locations such as The Hague, Utrect, Delft. Leiden is not big so location is also good for exploring the town. Good soundproofing and comfortable beds. Daily supplies of complimentary coffee and tea. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, so I can't comment on that. Reception desk staff seems to be either still practicing, or not very skilled. One staff member tried to charge me 10 euros more for late check-out, and one was particulary rude - rolled eyes and made faces because I didn't want to handle her my card for payment and I demanded the card reader. Not to mention that impatient look and hand gestures "give me", instead of using language to communicate.

It would be nice to have some doors on the shower, to prevent from watering the whole bathroom. There are only one towel rack and one hook for towels, which is probably sufficient for solo or business travellers, but not for holiday makers.

The location is great to walk by foot everywhere. The rooms were great.

The bathrooms -if you can call them that- are completely open in the room with the sink directly in the entrance and the shower as well even with a glass window that can be seen through from the bed/room. The Toilet door is also glass and not really effective in terms of noise. So in general, there is no privacy in this room so only recommendable for people who are fine with seeing each other naked and/or on the toilet etc. Therefore real door would be nice.

The bed and the shower were extremely comfortable and we especially appreciate the fact that we were allowed to check-in shortly after 10am whereas the specified check-in time was 3pm. After a long and tiring flight this was anything but marvellous! We were both grateful and thankful to the staff who served us. They were nice, friendly and efficient. Just one minor thing was that we received a little knock at the door one morning a little bit after 9am asking us whether we want to have our room clean and whether she could clean the room now. I think the cleaning should be done when the guest were not in the room but they should not disturb their guests early in the morning.

Great location, comfortable room, dog friendly, parking available.

The pillows - way too hard. And the beds are a little too soft.

Rooms are roomy with a sitting area (it was a more expensive one than the standard). Rooms are quiet. Beds are excellent. Toilet is separate from the bathroom. Location is perfect about a 100 m from the Central Station - if you have to be in Leiden. Leiden by the way is a very nice town to visit. Breakfast is as good as it gets. The outstanding feature of this hotel are the staff: universally in a good mood, smiling, accomodating, helpful and, honestly… charming.

The rooms have carpet, I would take this out next refurbishment. It was clean though. They have this old-fashioned card system, if you take it out the lights go out - that is fine although it got me by surprise in utter darkness one time, but it also stops the chargers which of course is not fine. Ach ja and finally this hotel is not cheap but it is value for your money, admittedly.

Everything was perfect.. the room is clean and warm in winter. And close to LUMC where we had our course.

Actually...we were very happy. Just the last day when I was about to check out.. I was unhappy.. Because of the staff wanted to charge me breakfast for 2 persons, although I came (one person only) ONCE to dining room on 7 February 2024. Have to argue.. they asked question.. like .. Were your friend accompany you to the dining room. ? (OF COURSE NOT.. WE ARE NOT STUPID). They can check with CCTV if they want. At the end they charge me only for one person.. Alhamdulillah.. but such a question irritating us as foreigner. We did not want to include breakfast in our booking, because we were not sure whether it will suite our taste. Please train the staff in front office not to judge a guest like that.

Golden Tulip Leiden Centre is your typical business hotel, unfortunately bereft of any charm. No complaints though about the comfort, which was good, but nothing exceptional. Breakfast was very elaborate but I found the price rather high.

Being only at the first floor the noise from the busy street in front of the hotel was quite noticeable, despite the soundproofing. But earplugs were provided and I did not need them after all.

Room was cleaned every morning whilst we were out. Very close to station and town. Entertaining at breakfast time watching all the cyclists through big windows. Comfortably warm throughout hotel. Friendly and efficient staff.

Breakfast was disappointing . Melon and pineapple every day. Awful sausages and scrambled egg - it was solid. Tough hash browns. Yoghurts were ordinary. Interesting cakes/pastries, when available. Coffee was very ordinary.

Clean and modern. Very comfortable.

A bit cold in the room (s). We had to ask for a fan heater (which was not a problem for the reception staff). Unfortunately upon our arrival the short stay car park was taken up by the construction contractors working on the hotel, so I had to wait with the car whilst my wife had to go into the reception to get us checked in and get access to the main car park.

Breakfast had a great variety. The hotel was quiet and staff helpful particularly when it transpired that the trains back to the airport were not running.

My room overlooked the car park at the back but in fairness I had asked for a quiet room. I do like reading in bed and I seem to recollect that a stronger bedside light would have been great. I like a small paper map of the area to get my bearings so I don't have to stare at a phone.
