The hotel is about a 45 minute walk from the center of Leiden or about 20 minutes away on the 55 bus (which runs very late). It's a very peaceful part of town with very little light pollution too so I really enjoyed having the best of both worlds here whilst visiting Leiden. I could have a great time in the centre, but be guaranteed a restful night's sleep too and a very pleasant walk in the surrounding wood and nearby canals first thing in the morning. The facilities and food were great, but the staff were exceptional. I unfortunately needed to change plans due to an unexpected family issue and requested to move my non-refundable booking forward a couple of days without penalty. The staff not only agreed, but offered kind words of support too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in this fairy-tale, lush green forest with ponds and streams and lots of walking paths, and there is a really neat castle on the property. I was also able to rent bikes directly from the hotel with which I rode to the conference location - like a local. The breakfast was delicious, I can especially recommend the croissants and adding some chocolate milk to your coffee in the morning :-) The staff was super friendly, they even let me change in one of the meeting rooms before my room was ready because I had to get to my conference - all in all a really pleasant stay.

The rooms are on the smaller side, and the balcony could be a little nicer, but again, I am complaining on a very high level and those are not really a reason to not stay here.

Breakfast was amazing. Beds are extremely comfortable. Stuff is very polite and professional, especially young blond lady on the reception, don't know her name unfortunately. Bathroom is also very modern and practical. Location is great, with free parking. Hotel is also dog friendly, which was the reason why we chose it on the first place.

When we just arrived, the room was not cleaned properly (spider web above the window and bed, little bit of human hair on the bed). We went to reception to make a complain, and left to dinner. When we came back to the room, everything was perfect. Great reaction so we don't mind this issue. When we saw the photos of hotel on Booking, we were thinking that we will sleep in the castle, but we read in the comments that the hotel is near the castle so don't be disappointed because hotel is still amazing.

The staff makes this place very special. This was my 4th stay in 6 months. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate special needs, with an attentiveness that is rare. It feels like an family-run hotel. Thankfully, the restaurant menu is back up to its usual high quality, after a brief period of misguided “menu simplification”.

Nothing worth mentioning.

Great location, very clean and calm property. The stay was great and the property is great to relax and take small walks. The location is easily accessible by bus from Leiden centraI station (station is well connected to e.g. Schiphol airport and Amsterdam for tourists). I went here to propose to my gf. During the proposal I received help from the staff who was very excited to help and ended up with a great plan to mimick a tour and record our moments. The proposal went great and my gf said yes! Also I would to give special thanks to Kieke (staff that helped me), it was very nice!

Calm location. Nice modern rooms, good size. Great shower. Close to Leiden center (15 min bike ride)

Some of the staff members were not very friendly and professional. The guy at breakfast was basically smashing the plates while clearing tables. Not a very peaceful start of the morning. Reception did not ask how our stay was, hence I am writing this here. Also we were promised a terrace by Booking but the room we got did not have one.

Great location. 25 minute walk into Leiden or quite regular buses (numbers 8 and 50) from 10 minute walk away. Peaceful location with nice grounds and comfortable simple rooms, plus parking (if you have driven). We came by train and it was easy to get to. Reception and waiters were nice.

I debated whether to put this or not: our room was not ready at check in for another hour or so due to unforeseen circumstances. The hotel was very apologetic and gave us free vouchers for the cafe. This was a slight inconvenience but was not under their control and they did deal with it very professionally.

A very special location. Altough the hotel is not situated in the old building, it’s a beautiful place to stay! Great staff, very friendly. Bed was comfortable, room was clean.

One tiny thing we would like to highlight is that there’s no fridge/minibar in the room.

Lovely hotel in a quiet spot with Friendly staff. Room was spacious, clean and tidy. Hotel is adjacent to the castle, which you can look into (mostly used for events). Small well maintained grounds you can take a short walk around. 15 mins cycle from the centre of Leiden. Best to drive but also some good bus connections.

Rooms do have a "conference" feel i.e. many rooms in a building adjacent to castle. Not a negative in my books given price and that the venue is very popular with weddings and events.

The hotel is by the "castle," at a quiet setting with lots of greenery. The staff were thoughtful and helpful -- especially in trying to accommodate my dietary needs at the accompanying restaurant. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The rooms were cleaned impeccably, and were very comfortable.

The WiFi connection quality varied strongly depending on where I was sitting in the room. The best place was by the door. Some of the towels seemed old.
