I recently stayed at this motel and had a pleasant experience. The location is ideal, situated close to various amenities such as restaurants, a petrol station, and grocery stores. Additionally, it's conveniently near the Edgar Centre, making it a great choice for events or activities in the area. The receptionist/owner was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. When I requested an additional room, he managed to provide one adjacent to my original booking, which was greatly appreciated. The studio-type room was clean and comfortable, offering good value for the price. I had asked for a quiet room, and my request was honored, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Daily housekeeping services were provided, including fresh towels, which added to the convenience of the stay. The bed was equipped with a heater blanket, providing warmth during the cooler nights. While the room included basic cutlery and a microwave, please note that there was no kitchenette available. Overall, this motel offers a comfortable and convenient stay, with attentive service and a prime location. I would recommend it to travelers seeking a budget-friendly option with easy access to local amenities.

The property is located on a corner near a roundabout, which makes turning right during busy hours quite difficult. Parking is limited—likely one spot per room—so if you have more than one vehicle, you'll need to find street parking nearby. If you arrive late, you might lose your space to someone else. Fortunately, during our stay, we had just enough parking for our needs.

I had a wonderful stay at this property, which offered excellent value for the price. The check-in process was incredibly easy, making my arrival hassle-free. I stayed on the first floor, which was conveniently located right next to my car for easy parking. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of amenities, and St Kilda Beach is just a short drive away—perfect for a day out. The room itself was clean, with a large, comfortable bed and a well-sized kitchenette that had everything I needed. Overall, a great experience, and I'd definitely recommend it!

The only small issue was that there were DVDs available for hire, but unfortunately, one of them stopped working halfway through. It was a bit of a letdown, but honestly, it didn’t really affect my overall experience. What can you do, right?

Rooms were clean. Hosts were exceptionally accommodating. Ideal stop in for motorcycle clubs. Handy to supermarket and shushi shop next door. Conference room facilities were available for our group to use it for a shared dinner and drinks. The rooms were ready ahead of time so our group was able to check in a couple of hours earlier than expected!

Just the reception area didnt smell too welcoming - maybe just needs a freshen :-)

The heating in the motel was inadequate for the time of year in Dunedin. The panel wall heater was not working and the heater in the bathroom also was not working. The small portable heater supplied was inadequate for heating the unit at that time of the year when it was very cold and wet in Dunedin at the time we visited.

Very modern hotel, very comfortable, and most importantly, this hotel is very clean. We've traveled many places and stayed in many hotels, and the 555 Motel Dunedin is the only one that makes us feel at home. Excellent service; the front desk was very accommodating when we arrived very late. Four thumbs up!

Nothing, really. It's perfect! The only thing that we didn't like was that we had to check out eventually. We wanted to stay longer, but alas, we had to go.

This motel was more than adequate, similar to many in NZ, and completely met our needs. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Despite being close to a busy area, it was quiet and without any disturbances. It is well maintained and kept clean. We were given 2 adjoining rooms, which was much appreciated.

When we arrived, no one was there to check us in and no one responded to the bell or text messages. After waiting for more than 15 minutes we had to go looking for someone and finally found them. Another guest who stays at this property often was surprised by the situation and vouched for the property. This delay was ultimately inconsequential and simply frustrating in the moment.

Room was clean, check in was easy as owner left keys and instructions at reception when we arrived later.

The bed was a little hard. The room was not serviced daily and we were not told this which was annoying because we had all left or used towels on the floor. However they did bring fresh ones when we asked. For the cost of the room I would have thought that we would get our room serviced on a daily basis.

The host was friendly and knowledgeable. Very easy to chat with. I was concerned the location was a little out of the way but a bus stop right outside made getting around the city so simple an more affordable than hiring a car! The room was clean and tidy, it was tended to daily with cleaning and fresh towels etc. I will be staying here again next time I visit.

Our unit was close to the road which at times was a little noisy but totally unavoidable and certainly not enough to stop me booking here again.

Plenty of power outlets, including USB ports on the walls. Spacious rooms with ample storage space. Great location, with supermarket, Saint Pierre Sushi, MacDonalds, KFC, etc. right outside the motels. Close to the city center. Easy to park your car.

There is a lot of car traffic in the area, so you may need earplugs to sleep if you can't stand the noise at night.

I really liked it. It was nice clean and modern. It was a big room and plenty of desk space with a nice big tv with lots of channels.

I couldn’t work out how to close the shower door properly but it didn’t matter as I was the only one there. It would have been helpful if there had been a bedside USB slot on the wall since I’m an international traveller and my plugs don’t fit.
