This place was a lovely surprise. It's a little dated on the outside but the rooms have been refurbished nicely to be quite comfortable and bright. The one BR unit we had was exceptionally clean, warm and cosy. Beds were very comfortable and we had a great stay. The location can't be beat. Walking distance to St Kilda beach and close to St Claire as well. Most important, we were around the corner from Pirates squash club. The owners were also extremely helpful and kind. Looking forward to staying here again next time we're in Dunedin.

Oh gosh, the beds were amazingly comfy! Lovely linen and warm layers, and the shower was hot with great pressure and nice new shower fittings. The newer heat pump made our wintery stay very cosy! Although our units bathroom area was a little small and tired (except the shower fittings) these newer operators are updating and have happily prioritized the important things. Different units with other configurations and sizes are available. Priced reasonably, exceptionally clean and stocked with everything we needed for our couple of nights stay. A warm welcome and excellent communication from the operators parents who were in charge at the time! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Beach lodge motel is "Awesome " The room was very clean with all the amenities. Bed was very comfy. And it was very peaceful calm and quiet l❤️l Location was perfect 👌 near to a bus stop convenient store with food outlet and walking distance to the lovely beaches.And apart from all the wonderful services the amazing host and the staff were very friendly and helpful when you need anything.. i would definitely stay again and recommend others to this wonderful place.

Somehow this place manages to maintain all the fab elements of the old school Kiwi motel experience without feeling dated. Full kitchen (with tonnes of storage), bathroom with actual bath, large living area with two separate bedrooms. Light and airy, but with effective air pump when it was cool. Friendly communication from the team before we arrived, and friendly welcome when we got there - the bickies were appreciated and the local food recommendations were ideal. We only had one night en route north, but would definitely come back as base for a longer stay! Is ideally placed for exploring the Otago peninsula and for visiting around Otepoti Dunedin.

The motel, whilst obviously an older one, was wonderful. Clean, tidy, comfortable, handy location, and great value for money. The towels are phenomenal, pure luxury. The best part though by far, is the amazing hosts. They just took over recently, and if my stay is an example of how they host, they will have a lot of happy guests. After my first night, I didn't have hot water. I emailed early morning at 6.30am, not expecting a reply until a civil hour. 2 minutes later they were at my door apologizing and ready to move me to another unit. There had been an electrical issue which caused the hot water cylinder to turn off. It was amazing. They moved all my possessions for me and settled me into a new unit within minutes and were genuine in their welcoming, friendly, and helpful attitudes. I was thrilled with my stay, would definitely stay again, and would not hesitate in recommending this place and their lovely hosts to anyone.

very comfortable room, great to be able to actually cook with a full stove. Looks like the management are doing the place up as all the windows appeared new. Plenty of space. Staff were extremely obliging and friendly. Very quiet, it was really good to be on the edge of the city rather than in the middle of the mayhem. would stay again. A must do is to visit Dunedin Botanic gardens, they are stunning...we spent almost all day there and could have been there longer, which is big considering it was raining all day, the gardens are massive and so beautiful and diverse.

The owners were very accommodating to us arriving later than anticipated, which we were very grateful for. It is worth noting that their reception closes at 7pm not 8pm, which is mislabeled on the booking confirmation I received. The unit was quiet, Tidy, and clean, great for a one night stay as we passed through

The bathroom and kitchen are tired and dated, with the kitchen being a little less equipped than we expected. But it is all what you'd expect of a budget accommodation

We had no complaints. The unit was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, including shampoo, comfortable beds and a heat pump. The shower was the best, with almost instant hot water and a good shower head. The oven was new and we had a great TV. The hosts and staff were helpful and obliging and they served the greatest breakfast on order. The proximity to everywhere was very good too.

There is not a single thing I could say we didn't like.

Bed and room very comfortable. The host, Debbie was so kind and helpful. She does all the services with a great attitude and was so very wonderful. She loaned me a casserole dish even. The room actually had an oven which was so exciting I had to cook. Everything was so clean. Room was quiet.

The wifi needs improvement. Would be best to put different rooms on individual servers so as not to crowd out people. Even if you put 3 or 4 rooms per server would greatly improve reception. Also password should be more complicated so as not to expose people to hackers as easily.
