We like stopping over in Huntly on our way to Auckland. Having stayed here before we knew it would be clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is lovely and quiet - if you like peace and quiet! We do. I particularly like the sayings painted on the walls - food for thought. In our room: "Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be." Views from the site are amazing.

I wouldn't call a (non-private) deck by the access road a "balcony with a view" but the pictures on-line are of the King Studio we booked. Having been there before, I thought from the description the room would upstairs and have "a private balcony with lake and river views." It would be better not to mention those things rather than disappoint.

We enjoyed the slightly unusual style of this accomodation. The 100 year old building has been converted from a being a hospital and retains its old character. The buildings are very attractive and it has a great view over Huntly. Value for money was exceptional. A large guest lounge. Very friendly and polite host.

We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, perhaps a little small for some people, but it was perfectly fine for us. I viewed one of the larger rooms and they looked excellent in all respects - the bathroom was extremely large.

Welcoming & helpful owners / staff. Unit as described with separate bedroom & two single beds in lounge area. We only stayed one night, needing a place to rest our heads on the journey to Auckland.

In a unit with beds for 4 and we had booked for 4 people, there were just 2 towels. We were able to ask for more. There were 3 dining chairs and a small couch. In the kitchen, it was set up for three. We didn't eat there, only had a quick drink and were able to get a fourth cup easily.

I absolutely loved the country location, the history of the place and the feel of it. The spa bath was divine!

The thin walls made it a bit noisy last at night and early in the morning when everything is so quiet but that goes with an older building. I didn't quite understand the history of the place until we got there so i didn't realise it wasn't an actual motel/hotel but that was my own fault cos i didn't have the time when looking for accommodation to really read it all.

The location is amazing with views over Huntly and the countryside. The room was reasonably quiet and very spacious. Was fascinating to see fixtures of the original hospital had been left intact and to read about the history of the building too. Would love to come back and stay longer.

Personally the shower was a little small. The sunroom kitchen/dining area felt a little exposed as people could see in.

I was in the "Honeymoon suite" Which was great for size, views and very close to the front door The room and bathroom were so beautiful, clean and airy. I loved the spa bath. The key system is very good, you just swipe. Beautiful grounds. The owners were very easy to contact and helped with getting some sheets for the couch as my son had the bed. We were staying there as my son had school camp at Lakewood lodge and as my son is autistic it was too hard for him to stay in tents and sharing rooms with other kids. This was a wonderful way to get away from camp for the night and also just time away from camp to settle behaviour. ❤️

There was nothing I didn't like. A few things to expect in an older building is that people above the room can be heard walking around.

We have stayed here on several occasions. We like the fact that it is about one hour from Auckland. So when we drive up from Wellington, it is not quite such a long day and then it is only one hour in the morning to complete the trip. Then on the way back, we take an hour off the return drive. We feel it is good value for money and the hosts are very friendly and polite.

The whole place was amazing, warm and safe and elegant but homey and hosts very welcoming. Wonderful views and watched the sun set. A Great place to stay, so much better then travelling on to Hamilton. I will be using Manor Views as my go-to place to stay from now on.

No restaurant however this what not really an issue as plenty of places to get food (Roast meal) in Huntly and take it back to Hotel and room had kitchenette with toaster so made breakfast before leaving.

The location was very handy and the building was lovely. Having the history of the original structure and the renovations was a nice touch. Very clean and comfortable

The television was not working which was very inconvenient for us. I like to read but my husband likes to wind down by watching tv. We were not told this before we tried to turn it on!

One of the few places that we know has great service. This time we booked a room with disability access as we required access for a walker. Great ramp access,, decent sized room., very large bathroom. Easy outside the room parking. Friendly staff on arrival showed us to our room. A great bed, had a small kitchenette with small hob under the sink if needed, fridge, toaster, jug, crockery, cutlery etc. Deco suited the style of the building.

The shower didn't have a chair or bench extension if you needed it to shower if you're unable to stand.
