The temporary hosts, Tim and Lorna, were very accommodating and helpful. The huge wooden deck was a great place to relax and dry laundry. The views were spectacular! Loved the big sit down dining table at breakfast time. Breakfasts were yummy - Tim even fried some tomatoes to go with my eggs one morning. Outstanding privacy - I barely bumped into other guests. The spa tub was awesome - I needed that after all my mountaineering aches and pains.

Nothing really - it was lovely. However, there were two things out of the control of the hosts that I will mention. One night the rain set in, and with it came very low cloud cover that was so thick I had a lot of difficulty navigating up the very narrow and winding road to their hilltop location. It was actually very frightening in the dark as it was a dirt road with no lights. The second issue was the gigantic ditch in front of their driveway. It was extremely deep as I drove off the main road up into their driveway. I was afraid of scraping the underbelly of my rental vehicle.

The view from the patio/bedroom window is awesome. The bed was supremely comfortable. The bathroom was superb. Breakfast was pretty good.

It’s pretty remote, there was no welcome and the outside is very scruffy - so you’re starting to feel a bit concerned given it’s at the expensive end of the spectrum for B&B accommodation. Plus, little things are missing - no tissues, no comfy chairs in the large room, just a couple of tea and coffee bags. And $7 for a small beer and over $40 for a bottle of local wine! Most places at this price would throw a bottle in.

We feel there should be a refrigerator in every guest room. Guest parking not ideal. Several steps to negotiate from car park to accommodation. The road to the property was somewhat challenging and should probably be avoided in the dark.

The location and views from the property were beautiful. The breakfast was excellent, all cooked by the owner and it was delicious. The dining room with the table set fro breakfast was stunning.

Nothing. It was all first class. The lane up to the property was a little scary, but well worth the effort, and the second time up was fine. Once up, the views were spectacular.

Fantastic stay just 20min from Nelson city centre, with an unforgettable view of the bay. Our room was directly on the huge wooden patio. Very comfortable bed, clean room with all the amenities. Great host with lots of advice. I highly recommend it.

The street to the property is indeed steep but anyone who knows how to drive can manage that. No bumps when we used it.

The property had a lovely view, and the owner was extremely friendly and hospitable. We arrived very late at night but he was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice and the host gave great recommendations for our onward journey (which we followed and had a great day).

To get into the property there is a number of steps to go down, which are a little tricky when carrying suitcases - not a complaint though, as it is not their fault they have stairs

Alan and Candace along with their 2 boys were wonderful hosts! It's been a while since I've seen such beautifully mannered kids. We felt like part of their family 😍 Even Buddy their cute little dog won my heart in the end and never failed to startle me by jumping up at me everytime lol! The freshly baked muffins and home baked bread along with a cooked breakfast option felt wholesome and satisfying. They even invited us to dinner on one of the nights to home made beef pies - yum!! The view was just spectacular and uninterrupted. Even the view from the spa which is secluded from the house was amazing, you see right out to the bay and the highway miles away. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and the heated floor in the spacious bathroom made all the difference when temperatures dropped at night. It's a beautiful home and we'll definitely be staying here again!

It's not really a dislike but if there was Sky Sport in the room, it would have been great. We ended up watching the rugby on our phone.

Great hotel with amazing view. Room is very spacious and comfortable. Bed is super comfy, underfloor heating in showerroom, which is good touch. Breakfast is very well cooked. The night is beautiful, can hear nothing except nature. Watching star from the patio is amazing.

Comfy room and bed with a killer view. Owners were super friendly and breakfast was amazing. Amazing location and not to far out of Nelson to be isolated 10-15 min drive. Was travelling here as I had work in Nelson would 100% come back with my wife to stay for a longer period of time.

Needed more coffee in the room but that’s just me as I drink a lot of coffee and possibly a small fridge for milk etc. But it’s a bnb not a hotel so nothing to split hairs over. :) The driveways a little rough but again not bad as it’s far up a hill and for those views it makes sense. My hire car was a little thing and struggled up there. But again nothing to take away from the amazing stay I had.

This home is tucked away, high up a hill in a nice neighborhood. It provides the most beautiful view out to the ocean and mountains. You can look out the big glass windows of your large room or sit out on the expansive deck to enjoy. Also, walking down a few steps from the deck is another place to privately enjoy the view - the outdoor hot tub. It was such a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the night sky and stars. We really chuckled when getting out of the tub we realized a few cows had gathered around and seemed to be also relaxing and enjoying the view. Easy access to town.

There was nothing not to like though be prepared you will be driving up a somewhat bumpy road to reach it. This is a unique property and well worth a little bumpy road.
