Stella(host) welcomed me warmly and went above and beyond with the helpful service she provided. The unit looked very newly renovated, and was lovely. Tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. It was nice to see the art work on the walls was reflecting the beautiful location. The bed was super comfortable. All in all an ideal place for my one night stay to break my journey down the Island. Great value for money. Also one street back from the main road, so very quiet. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants but after a long day’s drive I’d recommend the easy local pizza delivery service; absolutely delicious.

We were greeted by a really lovely tabby cat, so that was great! Quick and easy check-in, despite us arriving later in the evening. The room was very clean and tidy and the location was perfect - 200m from the start line of the running race that we were in Turangi for. Great shower! And really appreciated the spotless bathroom - I haven't seen such a clean motel bathroom in a long time.

The bed was lower to the ground than we prefer but in the grand scheme of things, that is hardly an issue.

Room was new. The heat pump was turned on and the room was warm when we arrived. In the middle of winter this was much appreciated. I like that this motel is very close to the town centre and to State Highway 1 but very quiet.

Only water is in bathroom. Hot water on very short timing so had not finished rinsing when it cut out. As outside temperature was -2C at the time, this was a shock!

We enjoyed our stay at this older motel. A good layout with covered entry and a sheltered outdoor seating area at the rear. Generous bench space for meal preparation. A missing coffee plunger quickly replaced.

I was a little surprised to find the fridge turned off on arrival, leaving our groceries to languish for some time. The electric frypan had a fault in its thermostat rendering it almost useless and one of the bed lamps was broken.

Location excellent, staff friendly, welcoming and there to please guest/s Room very warm and inviting. Had all the comforts of home. Felt totally safe and secure. Will gladly stay there again.

I was disappointed not necessarily with Judges Pool Motel, but rather with Booking.com. The stay was advertised for the cost of $83 for one night. However I was charged $138. Misleading advertising. I didn't mind paying however I'm not sure I would have chosen to book there. Nonetheless I enjoyed my stay and will stay there again

Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. Room felt spotless, probably the cleanest motel I have ever stayed at. Good location, close to Taupo and especially if you are doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, about 30min drive to the carpark. Has a full kitchen set up, great water pressure. Very calm and serene location. Stayed there for three nights and enjoyed all three of them.

Nice modern well equipped room and bathroom, very clean and in excellent condition. Good to have a comfy chair to sit in too. Very quiet away from the main road, so good for sleeping

Nothing really. I would have preferred to have a small table and chair to sit at the table to eat and also to do some work on my computer, but just a minor point

Owner/manager is extremely friendly and accommodating. I stay here frequently when travelling between the Bay of Plenty and Wellington and know I can rely on receiving great service. My only request would be for shower caddies to be added to avoid the risk of slipping over when reaching for body wash/shampoo from the shower base.

Left milk jug clean & empty on sideboard by coffee to be refilled when they cleaned room, only to arrive back late after day of exploring to find it hadn't been refilled so had to pop down to gas station for small bottle for tea & coffee

Clean room, bed, kitchen, and dishes. AC works fine. The heated sheet was useful at cold night. Good balcony to have breakfast. Good stop after Tongariro alpine crossing, as it is too far to drive to Taupo after the hike.

Old and not very comfortable toilet and shower. Price is high, but it is normal for that region
