This was out favourite place to stay in our holidays. We were between 3 different places in Bergen and Flåm. The rooms were lovely, comfortable and clean. Bathroom was a really good size. Good shower. Comfy beds. The breakfast was very impressive!! Probably the most varied stuff ive seen and love the attention to detail with health supplements too and ginger/kale shots. So cool! The staff were always smiling, very helpful and kind. I would definitely come back here as its very good value for money.

Breakfast very comprehensive. Location is just a little out of the centre (5 mins) but that is fine. Rooms a good size and very comfortable.

Good location for walking and also for the bus to the airport. Excellent breakfast. Particularly loved the bread and the large selection for all palates and allergies. Also a quiet hotel. I would recommend it for people traveling to Bergen.

The fitness room wasn't attached to the hotel. I was told that it was close by but I didn't check it out as it meant getting rugged up again. The shower was small and I fit quite well but did keep bumping my elbows on the shower screen when washing my hair. However my son would definitely not fit in the space so I think it could be problematic for a larger/broader person.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel and can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that guest comfort and satisfaction are their top priorities. What truly sets this place apart is how they go the extra mile with thoughtful, complimentary touches that you just don’t find everywhere. The free self-service laundry was a lifesaver, especially for longer stays — so convenient and appreciated! We also loved the 24-hour unlimited coffee, tea, and water station. It was perfect for a late-night pick-me-up or a peaceful early morning sip. And for someone with a sweet tooth like me ,the complimentary candy was such a fun and delightful treat. These little extras made our stay feel genuinely welcoming and homey. It’s clear the hotel goes above and beyond to create a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with a fantastic location and stunning surroundings. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was amazing, offering a great variety of delicious options. The room was perfect—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return!

However, it is completely unacceptable that room cleaning is scheduled only every three days. We requested it, and they did clean the room, but this has never happened in any other 3-star hotel I’ve stayed in! In a hotel, rooms should be cleaned daily—otherwise, I might as well stay in a hostel or an apartment!

Booked this last minute because my father had a hard time walking from our AirBnB. It had a very central location and good price. Especially considering it had a great breakfast

We had a very clean and comfortable room with enough space for us for our one-night stay. Breakfast was good, buffet style, with a selection of cold meats, cheese, pastries, cereals, yoghurt, scarmbled eggs, bacon (more well done and crispy than you'd get in the UK) and a selection of hot and cold drinks. It is situated one block back from the waters edge opposite Bryggen (so no views of that), but within comfortable walking distance of Bryggen, the Cathedral, the funicular railway and other central attractions. The airport bus stops a few minutes walk away at Strandkaiterminalen. We stayed the night after completing a Hurtigruten Burgen-Kirkenes-Burgen cruise. While I don't think the Heimen is offered as a hotel option by Hurtigruten, you could book a place on their hotel bus to save you the 14 minute walk up and down the hill with all your bags. Book the bus to the Admiral hotel, which is on the other side of the road, a couple of minutes walk away. When we checked out, we were able to store our luggage at the hotel until we were ready to head to the airport at around 4pm.

I prefer milk to yoghurt on my breakfast cereals and had to go rummaging for the milk, which I found right at the other end of the buffet. Not a massive issue, really.

Beautiful room, really spacious, light and immaculate. Breakfast was delicious and seats were available. Location is great, down near the fish market. Absolutely loved this hotel, a really relaxing treat for me when I stayed.

One small issue was there was no real clothes storage in the room, so for 4 nights and 3 adults, it meant we were living out of our cases. By no means a deal breaker though, will stay here again next time I'm in Bergen.

The high point was definitely the breakfast, which was truly excellent as others have commented. The unlimited availability of tea and coffee to residents throughout the day was also welcome.

The decor was really strange. Every single area; reception, restaurant, corridors and rooms were all painted in the same battleship grey, including the ceilings! There were no pictures or decorative elements in the rooms whatsoever. Even the carpets were matching grey! The stencilled numbers on the doors gave the impression of being in a prison ship. Outside in Bergen the city was full of colour and 'scandi' design, making the hotel's interior feel all the more peculiar.

The location was great and central. The room was spacious, beds were great and the view was lovely. Breakfast was excellent and overall our stay was really quiet and comfortable.

Sometimes a smile at the reception desk makes wonders for travellers, it makes you feel comfortable and at home. This is one of the cases where the smile went home and stayed there. However, we want to remark that the hotel was so helpful as to let as get the room before. We travelled during the night and we arrived quite early to Bergen. Our 5 years old really appreciated🥰👍, thank you for the gesture.
