Big room, clean, with good wifi and a fair range of basic kitchen facilities. Generally a quiet neighbourhood. Best of all, the friendly, helpful staff; not just one or two individuals but everyone. Thank you!

Only a minor point: the pillows were a bit too bulky for comfort. Location is remote from the major tourist sights but fantastic for the beach.

Very safe and comfy suite for family with kids. Staff are very friendly and helpful specially thanks to Nuruddin and Rashed. The hotel is close to Sultan Qaboos Mosque, Azeiba beach and Grand mall. Not too posh however it's standard and well maintained. It's in a local residential area and few mins walk to the nearby sea beach but the beach is for fishmongers only.

The aircon can be upgraded. The additional free mattress is literally a 4inch mattress topper and pretty worn out which can be improved. Reception lady who seems to be from South East Asia need to have more friendly and welcoming attitude when dealing with customer query.

The people at the hotel are great and the location is agreeable with a sea view and a quick walk down to a fishing beach, and a convenience store and a good fruit and vegetable store less than 100 meters away. It is relatively close to the airport in Seeb and even closer to the Grand Mall and the famous new mosque. One feels safe and welcomed there, in a simple homely neighborhood. The reception is good at calling taxis, and generally sweet natured and eager to help and to clean on demand.

The fridge is quite small - I make all my own food. There are good things to eat at the Carrefour French supermarket in the Grand Mall but that requires a taxi so they need to be stored. I dont care for restaurants but in any case there are not many nearby, just some Indian food and a MacDo I would advise a car if possible, taxis are expensive and things are spread out for miles with little public transportation. Of course that is not the hotel's fault but the nature of Muscat.

It's a basic hotel, but it's perfect to start a trip around Oman. Very clean. The staff was very kind. Not so many attractive places around: you'll need a car.

Plenty of space, draw/cupboard space, self-catering kitchen, cleanliness, friendly helpful staff. I've returned to Al Ferdous before and will continue to do so. Yes it's 2-star and very basic, but it's clean, comfortable, spacious and a great price. I used to live in this neighbourhood so the location for me is perfect being only a few hundred metres from my old beach and walking distance from Ocean Restaurant.

I agree with someone else about the lumpy foam pillows, but they are the right thickness and texture for me so it isn't really a problem. The curtains are definitely not blackout, so sleeping after sunrise if facing east requires a sleep-mask. A few more utensils in the kitchen would help - I had to buy a sharp knife and a good size tea/coffee mug from Lulu but again, I don't consider this a problem and well worth it.

The choice of this hotel was partially influenced by previous feedback. However, I was not disappointed in my choice based on price and location and in fact recommend this hotel if all you want is a secure environment, conveniently centrally located in a safe area and with very capable staff. I spent 17 hours out of the hotel - and whenever I got back I was relieved that I had a comfortable and reliable accommodation. It is near most major central attractions and malls. But you do have to drive (I did) or take a cab. If you want a beach stroll, that too is less than a 10 minute walk and a mosque nearby as expected. There are two or three small convenience stores around the hotel and I compared their prices with a larger retailer - almost the same. There are also a few modest eating places within reach. Sure some reviewers had expectation failings and highlighted a deficiency in towels etc. but to be honest, I can see the hotel point in not unnecessarily overloading accessories until the room is occupied. Reception were on point - and anything I asked for I received, The bathrooms do need updating but were clean. The kitchenette was small but fully functional - some mixed cutlery and plates, cooker, microwave and kettle, and fridge. And if we needed something like an iron, we asked reception. If it helps, breakfast can be arranged for about 1R per meal delivered to your room by 08:30 if you want to snack before heading out. This hotel is not for you if want to be pampered in 5 star luxury - go stay at the Chedi which is about 1.5km up the road.

There were technical issues with the room display pad to alert that the room can be made up. And yes, the room wasn't cleaned until I started ensuring that I reminded reception on my way out. Also, although I didn't need it, the room safe was not working.

Staff are helpful and joyable, location is great, room is wide, wifi is speedy, kitchen well furnished, good value for money

I came late at night with my bicycle from the airport. Unboxing and assembly was not an issue. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Coffee Shops and a little shop are just around the corner. The room is big and clean and matches what I expected for the price.
