This hotel is right in the heart of cusco! One block from the market and a few blocks the plaza de armas. The beds are comfy and clean and at night, they even give you warm water bags to keep you toasty. You get a box of chocolates in the room when you arrive. There are so many fun activities in the hotel to enjoy during the day, so you’ll never get bored. The food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious, and in the evenings, there’s a wonderfully talented musician who plays beautiful tunes. The front desk staff are super friendly and always ready to help you out. They provide you with breakfast bags if you have an early tour but your need to let them know the day before. But the highlight of our stay was definitely Kiki, the adorable baby alpaca! She’s so cute; you can't help but fall in love with her!

loading can be a bit tricky. So, whenever we loaded and unloaded our luggage, it felt like a bit of a race against time. Just like anywhere in Cusco, we could hear the early morning hikers heading out for their tours as they made their way down the stairs at 3:30am. Our room was right next to the stairs on the second floor, but that’s just part of the charm of being in Cusco! Waking up early is all part of the adventure for a fun-filled day of adventure!

The hotel is very close to Sam Pedro markets and about a 10 min walk to Plaza de Armas, which is close to all the restaurants you would want. The hotel is cute, has good breakfast, and an adorable alpaca to pet.

Our room was facing the street and unfortunately, that meant we couldn't open the balcony doors (no windows available) as the noise and a smog from cars was too much. The light from street lamps was also very bright and the curtains weren't dark enough.

We had a lovely time at the union hotel. We stayed 8 days. The hotel itself is very pretty, calm but lively! The central court is perfect to read a book and relax during the afternoon, or to have a drink in the evening with live music everyday! Our bedroom was perfect, the facilities are modern and clean. The staff was wonderful with us. Breakfast time was great, there are a lot of choices and freshly cooked dishes. We advise you to book the free activities, we tested them all and it made our trip very special. Special thank you to Veronica and Kiki!

Breakfast had lots of choices. We had two stays and the rooms were very different at the same price point. 216 was wonderful! Ask for help, both rooms had issues with heat, one not turned on and the other too warm, we were able to resolve both of these concerns. Hot water bottles were placed in the one room at night, this was an unexpected bonus! The taster lunch was one of our favorite meals in Peru. We enjoyed the pisco sour instruction and ceviche class.

Check in took a while the first time. Simple instructions for heating would have been appreciated. Google translate did not help as there were no words.

The location was located conveniently close to the historic sites and we were able to walk there comfortably. The hotel's front desk and restaurant staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We inquired about a possibility of switching the rooms after the first night, and were moved to a room farther away from the hotel's main entrance.

The staff was very pleasant and professional. My only source of discomfort was the guests not following the instructions of keeping the rule of quiet space in the hallways. Especially, when leaving the hotel in the early hours for a daily trip up the mountain sites.

This was a nice quiet hotel close enough to the all the action (Huacachina isn't that big!) but a great alternative to the party hostels that surround the area. The pool is wonderfully refreshing and it is amazing to be able to sit out there in the courtyard, surrounded by massive sand dunes.

The walls in the hotel are paper thin, so much so that I could hear the ping pong ball bouncing off the table whenever people were playing, which was more of a minor inconvenience, but since the hotel wasn't too busy, there was very little outside noise to worry about at night, while sleeping. The biggest con to this hotel was the lack of hot water...or even lukewarm/tepid water. After a day of travel and sand surfing, I was looking forward to a nice shower, but the water was too cold to have an actual shower. People staying 1 or 2 rooms down from me had the same issue. Not an issue for me, but good for some people to be aware, there are no elevators here, so if your room is on the 2nd floor (top floor), you will need to walk up, carrying your own luggage.

I actually stayed here twice. Once upon my arrival in Cusco and again after completing the Inca Trail and my experiences were a little different. The room on my first stay was located near the back, so was somewhat quieter than my second stay. They provided me with welcome chocolates, some filtered water and brought hot water bottles to keep the bed warm at night. I did not receive any of those things upon my second stay however. My second room was at the front of the hotel (overlooking the street), so was not as quiet, but it was much larger and included a bathtub (I think I may have been placed in a suite). They have their own pet alpaca!!!!!! I was looking to buy some wine so I could take on the trail with me. Someone from the hotel restaurant talked to me about some of the different local Peruvian wines and told me where I could buy the wine (which was at the end of the street on the corner, where there is a full grocery store....very convenient!)

Per above, there was inconsistency in the level of service. When I checked in the first time I had chocolates waiting for me. When I checked in the second time, nothing. Also, I booked the transportation from the airport through the hotel, which is a service they offer. I was within a 10 minute window of my scheduled pick up time and the first one off the plane, but my driver was nowhere to be found, It took another 40 minutes or so to get in touch with the hotel and have them re-send someone to get me.

The staff were amazing! When we got back from Macchu Picchu we stayed a night before our flight the following day. The hotel kept our bags for us whilst we were in Macchu Picchu. As our train was late back, we messaged the hotel in advance asking if we could order dinner and this was no problem at all for the hotel! They sent me the menu and we chose what we wanted and it was ready for us on check in. The star of the hotel, though, is Kiki! He is lovely! We had photos with him and the staff allowed us to feed him strawberries and rose hips! We loved him! Thanks, Union hotel (and Kiki) for a wonderful stay.

The staff was responsive and they provided warm hot water bottle in your bed every night along with hot water in thermos for tea. The restaurant was nice, food fresh and breakfast included home made omelettes and pankcakes as requested.

I had one day in between my reservation as room showed unavailable. I was leaving one day early and because I paid the Bookings reservations, no edits could be made by hotel and I paid for an extra day I didn't stay. No discount was offered when booking the middle day.

Staff were helpful, dining room staff were very friendly and customer oriented. It was nice they all spoke English for the non-Spanish speaking guests. The welcome box of chocolates was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of choices with the hot dishes individually prepared. Really enjoyed the activities like the cooking class and music offered at the hotel. The resident llama was interesting to have around. The location is good as you can easily walk to the center and the big market is just down the street.
