So romantic! Absolutely beautiful with classic charm. Very clean. Gorgeous garden. Just off the main area so it is quiet but extremely well situated for walking to everything. Just 15 minutes from the beach and good parking. Firm beds. Do yourself a favor and make this place your base of operations for the sites throughout the region. Very gorgeous breakfast (continental style but one of the best I’ve seen)

Bed was a bit overly firm for me. But that is a minor thing.

Challet Fonte Nova was an amazing find! We were doing a small town driving trip and the Alcobaca location is perfect for day tripping to Nazarre and Obidos! First of all, Pedro is a charming, knowledgeable host who strives to make sure you have any questions answered. The continental breakfast was the most outstanding of our time in Portugal! You can walk to town for dinner, the lovely monastery and the nearby park with exercise trails. We really enjoyed our two nights here.

Pedro’s hospitality was unmatched. His personality and charm was genuine and very friendly. He provided and communicated excellent customer service. A blend of freshly made Juices for breakfast both morning, rooms beautifully designed and decorated. I would surely stay again and refer anyone traveling to Alcobaca. Thank you Pedro for welcoming me to Portugal 🇵🇹 such a wonderful spirit to be around.

A very beautiful property in a small town. You can walk from the property to the monastery, beside which are several restaurants and small bars with outdoor seating. The property is quiet and beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic and varies from day to day a little, the selection is huge. The staff are lovely and very professional. If we want to come to see the big waves at Nazare we will definitely stay here.

Was my favorite accommodation of the 3weeks in Portugal and 1week in Spain. Challet Fonte Nova was 5star, like a little piece of paradise. The grounds are rather large, private, and lush. It was peaceful, I enjoyed listening to the birds in the mornings, and I enjoyed the balcony overlooking and listening to the fountain often as well. It was the only accommodation during the month that offered wash cloths and a bath mat, which I loved. (Portugal has very slippery showers - take heed.) Challet excels in providing a pampering experience from linens to atmosphere. The staff was pleasant and the man who coordinates breakfasts went above and beyond by making a special trip to the store to buy oatmeal for my friend, ...and made it for the first time in his life, JUST for her! Unbelievable! Parking (smaller car is best) is onsite and there's an elevator. Walking into the heart of Alcobaca was easy (easy for Portugal), and driving to the other sites on the Silver Coast was easy from Alcobaca. If I return to Portugal, Challet Fonte Nova will be the first accommodation I try to book.

Can't think of a thing I did not enjoy!

We had an extraordinary stay at the Challet Fonte Nova. First and most important was meeting Pedro. He was just so lovely. We felt like we were leaving a friend when we left. Catered to all our needs. A fantastic breakfast ala Pedro. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was so comfortable. So centrally located in the charming town of Alcobaca. Great restaurants abound.

We Adore Chalet Fonte Nova! This was one of our top favorite hotels. From the location to the building architecture, garden and grounds, stunning interior and decor, room design, beautiful linens and fabrics, and absolutely marvelous staff and breakfast. We did not want to leave!♥️♥️

We had to leave!

This beautiful boutique hotel has old world charm , set in beautiful manicured gardens. A peaceful oasis on the edge of the city. A great location for exploring everything on foot. Maria, the owner, was super welcoming and a kind and gracious host. The choice of bed linen and blankets were unusual, extremely comfortable and stylish. The breakfast was served beautifully, incorporating delicious regional cheeses, exotic fruit.and freshly made juice. The staff were extremely accommodating, polite and helpful. I will definitely return in the not too distant future.

If I was to make one small comment, my guest room was a little dark and appreciate more direct sunlight from outside.

Very beautiful colonial building, nice and old but kept in a very good shape! Quiet room! Friendly and accomodating staff. Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the center and the monestary.

The breakfast could have been somewhat better e.g. better coffee, no sweetened youghurt and some more ham.

Lovely old property, clean and fresh, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from. Beds super comfortable. Really handy for all the restaurants, cafe’s and of course the monastery. Would definitely recommend and will stay again when in Alcobaca.
