The hotel’s location is unbeatable, right on the beach (1-min in front of you), and only a short stroll into Alvor town. Head out and walk 10 minutes to the left, and you’ll discover the stunning Praia dos Três Irmãos, an absolute must-see! The hotel itself offers beautiful swimming pools and a varied, tasty breakfast each morning. Staff were warm, friendly, and always accommodating, making the stay even more enjoyable. A thoughtful detail was the Castelbel soap, shower gel, and shampoo products in every bathroom throughout the hotel, a luxurious touch that didn’t go unnoticed. Overall, a lovely stay. Would definitely return!

There were a few minor maintenance issues during our stay, for example, a loose toilet flusher, the air conditioning malfunctioning on our last night, some broken sun loungers, and a few damaged tiles in one of the pools. However, these were small inconveniences in an otherwise fantastic hotel that we found to be overall really enjoyable.

My family of 16 people stayed at the Pestanz Alvor South Beach Hotel. We ranged in ages from 2 years old to 90 years old. The hotel was perfect for us. The staff were terrific. They really went above and beyond to make our reunion and celebrations as wonderful as possible. The beach is right in front of the hotel, and the village of Alvor is a pleasant 7-minute walk along the boardwalk. The buffet breakfast had a lot of options for everyone, including our 2 vegan family members. I highly recommend the hotel for family holidays.

Dinner and lunch options were limited, rather go to the village

This is a Wonderful Property. 3 pools, Easy Beach Access and Quirky Rooms but in a Good Way. You can walk to town and the restaurants and shopping. Staff is accommodating and Cordial. The hotel is better than what I will write about what I did not. But if ownership is absentee someone has to tell them.

Getting a second pool towel is like asking for a loan. The outside areas surrounding the pool needs to be up-kept much better and the daybeds should be cleaned much more frequently. Bird droppings all over. Not appealing at all. Time for lounge chairs to be replaced. I’d like to know who specked the decking material? Fire them! Food and Bar (get some top shelf offerings especially for Americans)needs new management and chef.

My 90 year old mother, my girlfriend, and myself spent 4 nights at this amazing hotel. The staff were extremely helpful to accommodate special requests for my mother and for my girlfriend. The location could not be better. The rooms are stunning. Attention to detail makes all the difference, and the hotel left nothing out. The hotel is built within the walls of the citadel, and laying at the swimming pool between the ramparts is stunning. Special mention of Carlos, he went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations of service.

Wonderful staff all seemingly happy in their work, nothing was too much trouble. Great position with the boardwalk to get to Alvor centre. The guys in the Sea deck restaurant were wonderful. A shout out for José who navigated me through the menu each night. I have a garlic allergy & his assistance was greatly appreciated. Wonderful food in the hotel, as well as the Sea deck. Housekeeping was excellent too. Many thanks to all.

loved the location on the Brach , the rooms where spacious and clean with pleasing decor, loved the wide bath. Beautiful walks along the board walk and 10 min walk into village ,with plenty to do. Breakfast was self service and top quality products . You won’t go hungry the management sent us a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate my husbands birthday 72

The sunbeds plenty of them but not comfortable sunken in the middle . it would of been nice to be told if we could or could not use the Balinese beds , as No notices around Breakfast no one to explain ins and outs of the breakfast , Tea, cold,milk, a toaster ? could I have had a poached egg instead of scrambled etc.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Our room came with a complimentary bottle of champagne which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was 10/10 and had variety of options and plenty of everything which was constantly being topped up.

Could not fault the hotel with anything.

Good location for walking into the centre of Alvor, close to the beach and walkways . Very clean , nice breakfasts, very pleasant staff. Easy access to plenty of restaurants for lunch or dinner. Lovely suite with walk in shower as requested.

Nothing really, but maybe an odd singer or evening entertainment once or twice a week might be nice

We got a lovely welcome. The facilities were very good and exceptionally clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

It would have been nice to have a water refill for the pool side. It would have been nice to have night entertainment.

Hotel was adjacent to the Boardwalk directly in front of the shore which meant you could go for a lovely walk along the Boardwalk or go to the lovely village, cafes, restaurants and shops
