Everything about this hotel was outstanding. The location was perfect-you can turn left or right from the hotel and be in the city in 10 minutes, very easy walking. There are local restaurants nearby or fancy restaurants if you prefer. The staff of the hotel will provide clear information about any aspect of the city you are interested in, and if you don’t need any information you can just check in, the choice is yours. The parking is right at the front door, we left our car there for 2 days and explored the city by foot. Plenty to do and see with a calm non touristy vibe. And the breakfast had everything you need to start the day, eggs, cereals, cheese, cold meats and so much more. The breakfast staff are also super friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, you can open the window, the bed was comfortable and the shower hot and strong. Fabulous!

STAFF The staff are Dom Vilas’s greatest strength by far. The four receptionists – João Paulo, Marcía, Marta and Juliano – are warm, friendly, knowledgeable about this ancient city, and EXCEPTIONALLY helpful. But for their expert advice and help: • I would not have managed to see as much of Braga as I did within a Very short space of time (too short) • I would not have made it to my coach on time, AND they mothered me with a paper cup full of the most scrumptious, sweet smoked almonds (which they had in a big bowl at reception, made by another member of staff) to take with me on my coach. So efficient are the housekeeping staff that I was able to check in Very early (7am), and check out late, without anybody grumbling. LOCATION The Dom Vilas is a short 5-min walk from the Avenida da Liberdade in Braga, which in turn leads up to the Centro Histórico. The Centro Histórico is about a 15/20-min walk from the hotel. TRAVEL The Dom Vilas is about a 10-min walk from the local bus stop from where one takes the bus to the Santuário do Bom Jesus do Monte. The Terminal Rodoviária (main coach station) is about 8-10 mins away by taxi (if you don’t have much luggage, you might choose to walk. It takes about 30 mins on foot). DINING OPTIONS The hotel is a 2-min walk from local neighbourhood restaurants, and about a 7-min walk from the main parade of shops and other restaurants on the Avenida da Liberdade. BREAKFAST I did not book this option because the breakfast photographs on their website were not very appealing. If they improve those pictures, I might book myself in for breakfast next time! SAFETY The road the hotel is situated on is largely residential, and felt fairly safe.

The property was very well placed in the city where you can park for free by the hotel (street parking) and walk to old town where you’d have to pay to park. Only 10-15 min walk downtown. The staff was VERY nice and helpful. Told us all about the area, places she likes to eat at, etc. They were very lovely and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel, which was clean, quiet, convenient, and comfortable. The staff were very kind, friendly, and professional, and helped me to find an object I had left in the room. A very nice hotel with amazing staff, exceptionally clean, 10 minutes walk from the city center. Very good breakfast with strong coffee from the coffee machine, containing both croissants, cereals and cheese, ham, fruits and youghurt. The staff was extremely supportive with my requests for earlier breakst and this was very highly appreciated.

The staff was exceptional and they genuinely went out of their way, above and beyound to make me comfortable. Had a wardrobe mishap and they really did not have to but they sorted it out for me. It was an amazing stay because of the staff.

It is a 2 star hotel but the staff are 5 star srvice providers

Very warm welcome from hotel reception,very informative and helpful. Excellent room quiet air conditioned spotlessly clean. Had excellent breakfast for just 8.50 euros. Would highly recommend this hotel. Good position excellent staff and spotlessly clean. Definitely stay again

The location is great though a little far from the city centre. The hotel location is great for a traveller desiring a very quite stay. It has its restaurant and other restaurants/cafe surrounding it. There is a nearby convenient store (LIDL Plus) where you can buy groceries and personal items cheap and it is just about 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. For fun lovers, there is an adjoining fun park across the a well landscaped river.

It lacks swimming pool and the reception is rather too small.

Staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The location although not central, it's very good if you plan on leaving your car at the hotel for free and then walk a little to the center and the attractions. Free and private parking spots for the guests, but no many spots. Enough for me as it was low season. Room was comfortable and the AC, although old, worked like a charm. Breakfast was great too, diverse and plentiful.

This is a delightful hotel, the owner/manager was very friendly and helpful. She spoke english very well and advised of attractions in the town. She also provided secure parking for my motorcycle. I would highly recommend a stay here. The hotel is modern, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and comfortable.
