Good hotel with generally good service.

The barman laughed at me when I asked for a glass of sauvignon blanc for my wife. He said we don't have anything like that only medium.

The Breakfast was EXCELLENT the kitchen and restaurant staff were very friendly!

I don't like saying things like this but only because I worked so many years in the service industry from restaurants to hotels. I have to say that the front desk staff were not friendly at all. At least to me. I understand that maybe sometimes you are tired or having a rough day. But there is no need to be so brief and dismissive of someone paying for the service of the hotel, which includes customer service. So despite the amazing Breakfast and restaurant staff. The experience I had at the front desk really tainted how I felt about my stay.

This lovely hotel suited our needs perfectly. The breakfast was wonderful with good variety and quality; the coffee was delicious. The location worked for us, we walked to restaurants, sights such as the Old Cathedral, archeological museum and Coimbra University-no joke about the huge hills though but we were good with it. We rented a car and walked about 3 blocks to pick it up; we were able to park it across the street overnight although there is an underground garage available also.

Modern environment. Parking (bit expensive but safe, though bit narrow to get in). Clean. Big bathroom. Beds were OK. Staff is friendly. Location is not ideal but not too far from main attractions. Quite area. Good air cond.

Breakfast is very weak for 4 stars (except for loose leaf tea which is rare), no vegies at all. Windows are made from metal and it attracts cold to your room (and humidity). Price was too high for what we get.

Amazing value and the property was perfectly located if you were taking the train to/from Coimbra B. It's a pleasant and easy walk along the river then along a park to reach the train, takes about 15 minutes. For the money, the room was great...extremely comfortable king bed, window that opened to let in fresh air. The notable part of the room was the bathroom. Extremely well designed, great shower. Just amazing value for the money.

The room was small, but again for the money it was a fantastic deal.

The breakfast was nice, but too many cakes and sweet options, and no vegetables at all to make it a better balanced breakfast. All the staff were very helpful. We loved the drinks vouchers for declining room cleaning. The availability of snacks and water at reception is excellent.

The free wifi - it was unsecured, so not safe to use and we therefore didn't use it. So we had to rely on our mobile phone data.

Our two rooms were interconnecting which was convenient. Being a pet friendly hotel, our dog was welcome. The breakfast buffet was very good, and included gluten free bread and biscuits. Although the underground car park was too low for our car with roof box, we were easily able to park on the street nearby. Service was friendly and helpful, and I can recommend this hotel for a stay in Coimbra.

The river view from our room was through a small window with a blind, so not so much of a view. The room was on the small side with very little seating space. However, it was clean and comfortable with air conditioning. There are no gardens or parks nearby, and the hotel is a good walk from the heart of Coimbra.

It was a pleasure to see the renovation of this legendary hotel in Coimbra! Rooms very well renovated, very good breakfast! It was about time someone picked up this historic hotel and give it a new life! Congratulations!! Front desk staff very nice and welcoming

Breakfast and Restaurant staff were just not friendly... You can't say they were rude, but anything you asked was handled as if it was a huge favour. The only thing that is totally not worth it is the restaurant. Completely overpriced, average-weak food. On a city where pretty much every where you go, you have wonderful food, it's total waste of time and money to have dinner at the hotel.

Excellent hotel in central Coimbra. The room was stylish and extremely comfortable with a nice view to the river. The bathroom was also excellent with a very good shower.

The area wasn't that central, really. I tried to look for a place nearby to buy some snacks and everything was closed - the nearest convenience store was miles away. The restaurant was alright but overpriced for what it was worth.

Pool, facilities, breakfast and modern sleek look, Miguel at the bar was very nice to us always. The evening staff at the desk were also very nice to us

Some of the reception desk staff during the morning were rude at times
