Amazing place! Perfect location (albeit on a massive hill) but what do you expect being in Madeira 🤣 we loved that you had access to a rooftop pool and another massive pool complex on the ground floor with access to the sea! We loved how clean and comfortable the rooms were (would recommend an ocean view room). Staff were always very helpful and even booked us a taxi and had it waiting for 3.45am to head back to the airport. Breakfast was amazing massive selection and they changed it up everyday so you weren’t eating the same thing.

We loved the room, the pool next to the sea, and restaurants. We only thought the restaurant and breakfast was way too expensive. Loved the spa. Breakfast at the pool restaurant was not great and a bit small.

The prices of the food at the restaurant and breakfast. Lot of super old people. So didn’t feel like we belonged here as 29 year olds. No dogs. Breakfast is pretty late if you want to hike.

We had a wonderful stay at the Next Savoy in Funchal. The location is excellent - within walking distance of the city centre while offering a pleasant atmosphere. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. One of the highlights was the direct access to the sea, which made it easy to enjoy a refreshing swim each day. A great base for exploring Madeira - highly recommended.

We were disappointed that access to the sea wasn’t available before 9am, which limited our ability to enjoy an early swim. We also found it unusual that, despite being located next to sister hotels (the Royal Savoy and Savoy Palace), there was no apparent collaboration between them - such as shared access to pools, restaurants, or bars - as we've experienced in other hotel groups. This felt like a missed opportunity to enhance the overall guest experience.

Lack of atmosphere in main lobby bar. Colour of tiles in swimming pool - Yellow/gold just doesn’t work, it needs blue/green mix to look clean and refreshing.

A lovely, modern hotel not far from the city centre - less than 20mins walk from the Cathedral. Our room was comfortable, clean, spacious, with a nice view over the ocean. There is a well equipped gym on floor 1, and there is a footbridge connection with a swimming pool, ocean access area and the Recharge restaurant. The latter serves very nice food at reasonable prices, it is worth checking out. Everyone from the staff was very kind. Our daugther got sick on the second day of our stay and they did their best to help. Special thanks to the hotel manager for inquiring about our stay and ensuring our stay is comfortable. Thank you!

All was good!

Hotel was clean and the bed was one of the comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept in. Breakfast had a good selection of foods, though quality with certain items could have been better. Room was very spacious, especially for a solo traveler and the view was gorgeous. I booked an ocean room and requested a quiet room and this was well accommodated. No noise disrupted my sleep at night. I had dinner at the restaurant and it was tasty. Rooftop pool and the pool area with ocean access were fabulous. Overall I did enjoy my stay, though there are certain things the hotel could improve upon.

One of my pickets pet peeves in hotels are showers or bathrooms without a separate door. It is extremely impractical and a bit nonsensical considering the damage humidity could cause to the room. Steam and humidity were not a huge issue, but I was by myself. I can imagine room would get much more damp if two people were staying in the room and had back to back hot showers. Coffee at breakfast was not good and for a hotel of this standard, I would have expected breakfast to have fresh juices, especially fresh orange juice, and not juice from concentrate. Breakfast layout could be more efficient. Staff were polite but rarely overly friendly. At check out I for example was not even asked if I enjoyed my stay. Hotel is a bit pricey for what you get.

Great location on the edge of both the city and Lido area. Ideal for exploring both. Room was spacious with fridge, microwave and cooking facilities (even though we didn't use them). Water and champagne on arrival (for our annivetsary). Fresh bottle of water and room cleaned daily. Bed very comfy and loved the large soft pillows. Bathroom was not very big but perfectly functional and shower was good. Breakfast was good, varied choice of hot and cold food, nice coffee and omlettes made to order if requested. Rooftop pool was very nice, and larger pool area across the road accessible by pathway. Hotel on a quiet street so no noise from outside or inside despite our room bring just beside the lifts. Staff helpful at all times, allowed us to store our bags after checkout wih continued access to pool facilities for the day. Overall very happy with our choice. Would recommend and would stay here again. A good 4* hotel.

Some minor points... .... 1. Hotel bar (at reception area) lacks character and never had anyone in it.... But not a problem as there are loads of bars in the area and rooftop bar is lovely. 2.Constant music in the lifts which is on repeat is a bit annoying but not audible from the rooms so not a big deal 3. Spotted a few tiny ants in the bathroom....... 4. Breakfast room a bit dark in places, more natural or artificial light would be nice. Overall still happy with our stay and would recommend.

Very modern hotel with direct access to the sea. Lovely pool area and gorgeous rooftop bar. However it was a bit cold in the evening to enjoy a drink there. Lovely restaurant by the pool area. Lots of sun loungers and complimentary towels. Good size bedroom with large bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Great location,very close to the city centre and port. Lots of good restaurants close by.

Our bedroom was situated in the back of the hotel which led out onto a small alleyway. There were quite a few pedestrians walking by. The lighting in the bedroom and also the breakfast dining was very dim.

We travelled with our 7 months old son and stayed at NEXT hotel for a week in January. The hotel is just 20 minutes walk to the center and near by there are several pubs and restaurants and just 10 minutes walk away from a very well maintained park with sea and city view, perfect to take breaks with a crawling toddler. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant, room service is great, the bar and the pool area is high quality and well maintained but what made our stay even more pleasant was the professional yet friendly staff. Unfortunately we got sick during our holiday, and received the best support from the hotel. Very accommodating and well prepared for any of our requests.

Pool is perfect for adults to cool off after sun bathing. Unfortunately, the temperature of the pool was too cold for our son to bathe (approx 20 degrees).

Amodern and stylish hotel with well-designed rooms that felt private, quiet, and nicely soundproofed—perfect for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was a great start to each day. The rooftop pool was a definite highlight, offering gorgeous views over Funchal and the ocean—such a great place to unwind. The location is a bit of a walk from the Old Town, but Funchal is such a beautiful place to explore that the stroll was actually enjoyable.

My only complaint was the shower setup. There was no door or separation between the shower and the bedroom, so every time I showered, the whole room steamed up. It made things a bit uncomfortable afterwards.
