The location and the Food.

The waiter at the breakfast was rude, and I had to open a complaint. I don't think the situation was handle properly and it was my partner' birthday.

Beautiful hotel, with a lot of choices of pools and areas to relax. The gym was well equipped and spacious. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The spa had a good choice of treatments. The breakfast was exceptional and we were impressed with the choices. The staff were super attentive and friendly. The hotel was in a good location, plenty of restaurants nearby and short walk to the old town.

Too many extra costs for hotel guests. For example, the extra price to reserve some pool beds are too high for guests who are already paying to stay at the hotel! The same goes for to the spa, it should be a decreased price for hotel guests to use.

All of the staff at the hotel were really helpful and polite. The food in the hotel is lovely we ate in one of the restaurants and got room service. The hotel was clean throughout and had nice bar areas. The location was brilliant for walking to all areas of Funchal and there are also bus stops and a couple shops for basics right outside the hotel.

It’s a shame there isn’t an indoor pool for use without having to pay 40 euros each for the spa, also if you had children with you there’s no indoor pool for them to use.

Beautiful modern rooms, excellent breakfast, nice pool, 1km away from to central city

Very noisy due music outside till late night, and room was directly above large air conditioning of next buildings. Service in general not 5* standard and nobody felt happy or motivated, to get to beach requires to walk through another restaurant and hotel. Cocktails at pool bar are not good and excuse was that blender was not working. Room cleaning unusual average, only small water tetrapacks as refill. Pool on roof blocked for parties 1.5 days, and you need to go there business casual.

This was our 2nd stay at Savoy Palace and we love this hotel for the following reasons: Superb customer service, amazing room, good location and exceptional pools/facilities. Right when we arrive, the concierge was very welcoming and directed us how/where to park our rental car (considering we haven't checked-in yet). He provided a temporary key card to the parking garage. Front desk staff was also welcoming and accommodating. She answered some of my questions such as nearest church and activities happening at the city center.

None. I wish I could stay here for a month!

The hotel and rooms were beautiful, spacious, and clean, with an amazing view. Breakfast was delicious and varied. One of the highlights was the concierge team—special thanks to John and Bruno—who helped us plan our trips for three days and even arranged a rental car at a great rate.

The reception staff had a strange attitude and didn’t seem welcoming. We also struggled to get basic amenities like water, which felt frustrating given the room rate. Additionally, when my sister requested a bathrobe, it arrived with a large tear in the middle.

Great experience! We've been celebrating our anniversary during the stay and the hotel sent us very nice gifts - even twice! (once on the day before our anniversary and once on the anniversary day). Excellent breakfast - both taste and choice! We travel a lot, but unfortunately it doesn't happen often, that e.g. the fruits are so tasty as here. The cook passed also the test of a soft boiled egg ;-) In many hotels it seems impossible for the cooks to prepare the egg so that the yolk is fluid and white is cooked - but here he succeeded! The room was spacy and clean, the bathroom as well. Comfortable bed. It was very quiet at night - we could get some good sleep. Very nice and competent staff; very quick check-in and check-out. Nice view from the balcony! Comfortable sunbeds at the swimming pool. There's also a possibility to swim in the ocean - you just need to go to the sister-hotel area (the same company). There are a couple of good lunch/dinner restaurants on the hotel area as well!

It would be nice if there would be more built-in closets in the room - there's enough space for it.

This is a beautiful property. Quite extravagant and expansive. The pool area is beautiful and the brunch was excellent. The views are superb if you get an ocean room. Gym is open 24 hours. Most of the staff are very friendly and professional. Coffee and water replenish daily in your room.

Spa is not included. €40 a person is way too expensive. Pool is not heated so basically unuseable in March. Room service was extremely expensive as well. Sky pool is difficult to access, and the restaurant really doesn’t seem to want you there.

Loved the location and what they have done with the street behind - curating wonderful shops and restaurants down there. Great façade and architectural features. Good rooftop bar and special VIP space. The porters who meet you at the entrance are FABULOUS!

Poolside restaurant let the whole place down. Good location but staff should be better trained and menu could be better. Asked for one Caesar Salad without anchovies and the other with extra anchovies without tomato and they got both orders wrong.... when we complained about the one that should have been without anchovies, they took it back and removed the anchovies on top and brought it back (still with some anchovies in the middle of the salad). The waiters were simply not polite or engaged enough. Front desk staff could be better - we had a mixed experience.
