Everything. The location is obviously remarkable, very charming and within only 6 minutes of the Brasileira & Metro. But also the room, although pretty cramped, was designed so cleverly to give maximum value, so that you really had everything at your fingertips--and sound-proof windows if you needed them. On top of that the staff were almost comically helpful, kind and thoughtful--you could hardly feel more at home.

I cannot think of anything--except perhaps having to leave!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely perfect – everything you need is within walking distance. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the small fridge in the room. Towels were changed daily, and the bed was made every day, which added a nice touch. The windows were well-insulated and had blackout shades, which made it easy to catch up on sleep after a late night. The biggest highlight, though, was the staff – truly amazing people who made the stay extra special. A big thank you and warm greetings to the whole team for making my stay so pleasant!

The staff went out of their way to make this a memorable stay. They greeted us by name whenever we entered, gave us excellent recommendations on what to see, and how to get there, and provided all sorts of insights so that we could experience Lisboa like a local. The location is right next to the restaurants and bars that make Bairro Alto special, but on a quieter street so we could sleep at night. Soundproof windows did the trick when folks got rowdy. Air conditioning kept us very comfortable.

No elevator. However, staff was happy to assist with bags.

A charming hotel in the center of Lisbon, close to the metro station. The room is a bit small but overall sufficient for me as a solo traveler. The room was very pleasant, featuring a modern shower and toilet, and a small, cozy balcony overlooking the alley, which was a significant advantage on pleasant days. It should be noted that the room was cleaned every day! Miguel was very helpful and charming, and gave me excellent tips for visiting Lisbon. In general, the entire staff was very welcoming. The hotel is located near nightlife areas, and sometimes noise can be heard at night (the hotel also mentions this in the after booking confirmation). Not something that bothered me too much. Many thanks to Miguel and the hotel staff!!

The room was nice and comfortable, quite spacious, the bathroom and shower were very nice and there was storage space which was great. The staff were lovely, so friendly. They even gave us some free coffee! The staff are always at the desk so you feel very secure and as they keep the key during the day, there is no chance of losing it! The surrounding area is very central, close to Baixa-Chiado station, and well connected. The room was cleaned every day. There was also a kettle so we could make tea/coffee in the room. We could also turn the heating on during the evenings when it was a little bit chilly outside.

Everything was great, the only small thing was the window in our room was a bit difficult to close and open. But the staff were available to help us with that, which we really appreciated.

Miguel was a really kind and pleasant host, he helped us with useful tips and literally made the travel itinerary for us. Even though some things are a bit old and the room was tiny, everything was very really clean. The staff changed our towels every single day, cleaned the room and washed everything thoroughly, which I did not see anywhere else except 5 stars hotels. This was wow. We felt welcomed and treated well. The streets around might be noisy at night, but the sound protection is really good.

Just a small inconvenient, the shower drain was a bit clogged.

Exceptional service and hospitality: The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They provided us with lots of tips about travelling in Lisbon, making our entire journey 100 times better!! For example, they provide guests with free maps hand-drawn with tram routes to guide you around the city. The restaurants they recommended to us are also super delicious and good value for money! Room: We were upgraded to a deluxe double room and the room was extremely dark, and decently quiet at night (though it is off-season so our neighbouring rooms might not be occupied). We had 4 good nights of sleep!!

Accessibility: although the hotel is quite central, within 10-15min walk from tram/metro/bus stations, it is located uphill from these stations. The hilly walk can be quite challenging or tiring for some. Not good for people with mobility issues. Room: Furniture is on the old side. Even though we got an upgrade, the room was still quite small. Not a good option if you would prefer to spend more time in the room, since the space can get quite crowded with two people.

Elena and Miguel, the sweetest hosts ever! Thank you for your warm hospitality! They were very kind and caring and very helpful! Elena gave us a map and directions, while Miguel offered us coffee every morning and a great farewell gift (and a letter in our language!!!) waiting for us in our room! The location is perfect if you want to enjoy it in the center of the city! Our room was cleaned every day, even the towels were replaced with new ones without asking! Highly recommended! Obrigado!

A faster internet connection would be better, but we didn't spend much time there besides sleeping and relaxing.

Wonderfully caring staff -- who have been there over 15 years and can tell you all the goings on in the neighbourhood, and how and where to find the best natas, cheeses, and old established traditional eateries to eat your way around Lisbon -- amongst may other travel and itinerary essentials. The first floor double rooms are small but bright, fine for 1 but maybe a bit of a squash for 2. They're in good condition, equipped with kettles and mini fridges and double glazing which keeps out most of the noise. It's on a very cobbled narrow street in the nightlife district a few minutes walking uphill from Chiado and well positioned for amazing get around the rest of Lisbon and take the iconic 28E tram.

UK northeners on pubcrawls drunkenly shouting outside at 2am. Guests forgetting to be considerate when coming back after midnight - talking really loudly or banging doors.

We were in Lisbon for the first time and chose Anjo Azul for the fantastic location in the centre of the city. Every member of staff we met over our four-night stay was wonderful, attentive and very kind and generous with advice for the city. The room itself was comfortable, on the second floor with a deliciously hot shower. The hotel itself is on the street so we woke up once because a car alarm went off but that’s the price you pay for the great location.

The wifi in the room was a little weak and we got two single beds joined together to form a double but these are minor comments really. Thank you Anjo Azul!
