Everything! We loved being close to the city centre but far enough to enjoy the more relaxed vibe of Foz. The waterfront promenade in front and a wonderful choice of local restaurants made our six days really fun. The bikes are a great idea - we rode in both directions - into the city and also around Foz and the nearby lighthouse. We stayed in July and while Porto has many, many charms, it is also full of tourists and bustling. Duas Portas is the best of both worlds - public transport is also just outside the front door and the stunning Serralves contemporary art museum is also a nearby walk. Staff - absolutely exceptional in every way. Breakfast also. Worth the splurge in every way 😊💚

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially after car was broken into which was parked outside on the street. The staff telephoned a garage and made an appointment for repairs to the smashed window. They also cleared up the broken glass. The room was spacious with walk in shower and the bed was extremely comfortable. Very good selection of breakfast with cereals, cooked meats, cheeses, yoghurts, breads, croissants, fresh fruits and cooked eggs on request, especially the complimentary port for the evening.

Deceptive facade which when front door was opened revealed an Aladdin's cave with modern decor.

My husband and I loved our stay at Duas Portas Townhouse. Our room had a beautiful view across the street with a riverfront view. There was a path across the street for walking , running and bike riding which was provided if you wanted. The sunset views are amazing! The room was comfy and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. At breakfast we always had a good selection of fresh food. Shout out to Maria who was always helpful and made our stay special.

Miguel and Beatriz were very available and responsive to all our questions and needs. The rooms were lovely with a great view of the Duoro river. Bikes were available at no cost and we used them to go to the beach. Breakfast was simple with the option of eggs and avocado toast as well as capuccino if you requested it. The design of the building was clever and elegant! The renovation was written up in several design magazines.

The staff and this property are outstanding. I loved the views of the ocean and river from my room, the port and coffee in the common area, the amount of electrical outlets in my room, the towels and robes, and the comfortable king bed. The one thing that the property cannot change but potential guests should know is that the rooms facing the street and river can be very loud due to the road immediately under the window. A combo of overhead flight patterns, the passing cars all through the night until 2 am, etc. all made it difficult for me to fall asleep and stay asleep. Some people are more sensitive than others so I mention it here --but the views and the people more than made up for this issue for me. Perhaps a white noise machine in the rooms could help with this issue somewhat.

Noise mitigation.

Everything about our stay here was superb, the staff were friendly, the room and bed we had were huge, the breakfast varied with fruits, yogurts, cold meat & cheese, toast and jams, eggs and avocado. Throughout the day you could help yourself to free coffee and port which was a lovely touch and take it to sit in their secluded sunny garden, perfect end to a sight seeing day.

There was nothing not to like

We had the most amazing stay at Duas Portas! It was our anniversary during our stay and Beatriz and her team organised a cake for us and helped my partner organise surprise champagne for me! The location was perfect, closeby to the beach and city centre. Room was very spacious and facilities were great. Breakfast selection was good too, and then complimentary Porto wine was a nice touch. We loved that it felt like you were staying in a friend's home. We will definitely be returning.

Nothing! Everything was perfect for us.

Staff were friendly and helpful and accommodated a late check-in. Our room & the whole hotel was so fresh, clean and bright. Key highlights include: complimentary bicycles for guests, free coffee & port which was self service in the lounge, lovely breakfast including avocado on toast, a secret garden, posh toiletries, record player in breakfast room & stack of records, incredible river view.

There are so many positives with this place. There is easy parking in front and it's just a quick walk across the street for the promenade or catching a bus into town. Our room was still getting cleaned so they invited us to wait with a nice welcone drink. There is free access to coffee, water and soda throughout the day. Room was a great size and meet our needs. The staff was helpful and attentive.

My husband loved the bed and I found it to be lumpy.

Everything was great from the check in to the check out. I slept very well and the bed was so comfy. Location was good too, the hotel faces the sea. The hotel is small and cosy and the staff made me feel welcomed. After i checked out I was able to leave my luggage at the reception and later I waited for my cab to arrive and the lovely lady at the reception offered fruits and water to me which was so kind of her. Breakfast was great too - a healthy one.
