I particularly enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar, where I stopped off every night after a day spent exploring. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful, and the views were wonderful. I miss it already. My twin room faced a side street, but it meant it stayed cool when it was hot outside. The air conditioning works well, too, and the room was spacious and airy.

The Wifi was not the most reliable, especially outside on the terrace, where it stopped altogether, and in the breakfast room, where it came and went. But it worked fine inside the rooftop bar and the bedroom, which was great.

Wow, what a beautiful, unassuming boutique hotel! It was absolutely quiet with comfy beds, excellent showers, and lovely breakfast is included. The location is perfect for a relaxed holiday with the beach just meters away. But it's the staff who are absolutely delightful and helpful that made our stay exceptional. We highly recommend.

Lovely location and beautiful building. We had a very spacious room and the windows are super noise cancelling. There is a great variety of room sizes. The room was very clean and it looked like it had recently been painted. Breakfast was nice with everything you need. Fruit were fresh, which is always a big bonus. The rooftop bar is a great space for some drinks and great views.

Our mattress was a little hard/springy. This could be a personal preference though. We still slept OK. Baby crib had a broken wheel, which didn't bother us too much, but given the charge of 27€ PER DAY, it should really be checked beforehand. The crib is lovely and solid (wood) but not very big. Our baby just about fit in it.

Very good location near the beach and bedside the 500 bus route to Porto. Decent breakfast with cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheese as well as scrambled egg, beans, rashers and spicy sausages. Pool on rooftop a great bonus. Lots of books in different languages left on each floor so you could pick up something to read if you wanted. Overall great for a short break.

The pool water was very cold even on a roasting day. It’s under a Perspex roof which blocks the sun from heating the water. The clear roof is great if you want to stay out of full sun but removing a few sheets over the water in summer would help heat the water.

Really excellent breakfasts, exceeded expectationsl Lovely shower and bathroom. Fantastic views from bar terrace. I have recommended the hotel to friends.

I wasn’t looking for sea view of course, but was disappointed at the limitations imposed by the balustrade on the 2nd floor overlooking rua Padre Cabral (I had to work out the position of my room as I couldn’t actually see much, but I know this area well. My son used to live up the hill in Trinitária with his Portuguese wife and children.) The windows seemed to be blocked in such a way that they couldn’t be opened further, nor could they be shut to keep the room cool. However I appreciate there is heavy curtain for this purpose. I also appreciate having 2 windows for the light.

Taxi was very cheap and easy - both Uber and Bolt. Very quiet and peaceful place. Very clean hotel,The room cleaned daily and changed the sheets and towels every other day. Very good staff- very friendly and helpful.my room was with balcony and it was fantastic,thanks. Breakfast was very good. The only thing I missed was an omelet. there was scrambled eggs and boiled eggs. I especially liked the rooftop pool and bar every morning and night.

Lovely quiet area 3 miles from the city,small beach across from the hotel , bus stop just down the road 100 metres ,number 500 bus into the city for 2.50 euros or hop on /hop off blue or red sightseeing bus 36 euros for 48 hrs with the river cruise included which was well worth the money. River cruise leaves from the port just below stop 12 on the tourbus every hour or so.My top tip is to stay on the bus until you get to the upper part of the city (stop 1 or 2 on tourbus) and work your way back down on foot as the uphill climb on the street is a killer. Hotel was lovely, room good,staff very friendly, quiet bar on top floor, small rooftop pool that was lovely for a quick swim in the evening after walking the city all day.

Don't eat at the restaurants at the riverside along the port as the prices are double what you pay away from this area. Sometimes the wait for buses is alot longer than what it says on the bus schedule. Very steep uphill climb on alot of the city. Breakfast at hotel was OK but hot food was cold more than hot but I've had worse.

Hotel location was perfect! 3min walk to the beach. Bus stops are very close by. Shops and supermarket within 5-10min stroll. As a solo traveller, we tend to be allocated rooms with views of a car park or a wall, but I could see the sea and the sunset from my room! The bathroom was spacious, shower had very good pressure. There was a small fridge in the room (it made no sound) which was handy as I have food intolerances.

The only sad thing about the room is the bed pillows were smaller than standard, like a child size. I had 3 of them, so I managed with them during my short stay.

Location was outstanding. Staff were courteous, helpful, pleasant, and thoughtful from check-in to check-out. The room was not exceptional, but it was more than adequate with every desired need filled. We had a fabulous view and a "double" balcony, although it was not wide enough for furniture. It was, however, wide enough to pop outside to check on the weather and take in the view of the River Douro and the Atlantic Ocean. Breakfast was ample-- a great selection of food kept in abundance throughout the breakfast service, which went until 11:00 a.m. We also loved the rooftop deck, pool, and Bar Panoramico.

Absolutely nothing. We were pleased all around.

Check in fine, Room was smaller but bed very comfortable and we were located next to an adjoining room with very noisy unsettled children from 6am (thankfully checking out), other than that grand for the duration, bathroom great, toiletries great plus, tv good, mini fridge and kettle handy. Cleaners meticulous. Breakfast grand considering but coffee was awful. Breakfast room was more like a cafeteria. Glad I brought the Barry's teabags! Pool and sunning deck was lovely - huge plus Views all round were lovely - especially the fortress. Area all around hotel fantastic, tram and bus into city - walk to Matosinhos and bus back recommended! Location was so good we were happy not to venture into city some days. Bar prices were ridiculously high Tenacoes no prato restaurant on a side street behind is THE best hidden secret...

Bigger Room, better coffee, lower prices in bar would mean it woudn't be empty and would have some atmosphere!
