Room was lovely and bed extremely comfortable decor in the hotel was very beautiful, the location was good as close for short taxi trips to both the river, beach and central Porto. Disabled access ramp and lifts as we had folding mobility scooters. Staff very helpful in booking taxis and advising best areas suitable for us to visit with our scooters. Front desk checked by phone that indoor market had lifts.

Decking on balcony was not great board was loose. Nobody offered us help with our luggage on arrival or told us how hot tub worked. Bath/shower very slippery no non slip mat provided. Half board dinner menu very disappointing, food was nice but extremely limited choice and definitely not 4 star quality, no salt and pepper on the tables sauces in small takeaway packets, no proper plates at breakfast only side plates.

It is a few years since I last stayed at the Bessa; I had forgotten what a good hotel it is - clean, modern, efficient and friendly. The staff were very helpful to accommodate my request for a late check out. Breakfast is always good there, and this time I had a couple of snacks in the bar in the evening, which were truly delicious.

The breakfast times and options were flexible - I welcomed that. Staff was very courteous and the hotel is very clean. The bed was very comfortable.

The rooms miss hooks in the bathroom for towels and a mirror outside the bathroom. The shower se up, as most hotels, does not keep the water from creating pools of water on the ground and I had to mop the floor with the towels after each shower. I could not open the window in the bathroom and there is no airing system for it.

We used a shared room and it was very nice. The bed was big and the sheets were comfy. The bedroom had a good size and I could use the wardrobe space to put my stuff in.

- Not so many toiletries in the bathroom - I missed cotton swabs, for example. - Weird pillow - the fabric was rigid and it made noise. - Dirty floor - not good for walking barefoot in the bedroom. Our feet were dirty just by walking there in the mornings. - Bad mixer for the shower - either too hot or too cold

The room was clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom. The personnel was very was and helpful. Breakfast was rather basic but everything was fresh and tasty. The hotel has a very good location for my purpose, the neighborhood is quiet and pleasant.

The breakfast could be more varied - I missed more fruits and vegetables. The location of the hotel of very good but the distance from the nearest metro station (Francos) is quite long and the walk is not pleasant with a suitcase.

I'll start with the only con to get it out of the way - it's not a central hotel. It's located in what seems like a residential neighborhood. Ubers to the center are not expensive however. Having said that, I don't care because it was AWESOME. The room was very very clean, the bathtub was luscious and the hot tub was amazing. Porto is a lovely place but I would honestly travel there again just to stay at this hotel. The staff was absolutely lovely. We had to stay another night because our flight was canceled and everyone was so friendly and sympathetic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't care about being exactly in the center and wants a more luxury experience than the usual small room with two bed put together that you get in Europe a lot.

The location is not super central and the breakfast is very expensive for what it is, so we didn't choose to partake. That is truly it though.

Everything!!! That room with jacuzzi on the terrace was such a great choice for the day when Portugal got out of power - this hotel has an autonomous power generator and they accepted guests that day; super tasty dinner (got it into the room with a nice bottle of champagne); kind staff; location in Boavista next to the stadium in between Porto city center and Matosinhos; I will definitely get back for more days

Probably the cheapest nice quality hotel you can find that's relatively close to the main popular areas in Porto. For the price, you can't get better. The gym is not worth going to nor the sauna but overall a nice experience. Also, don't get breakfast. You can get a much better cheaper meal going to local coffee shops next to Boavista Stadium.

For the price, nothing to complain. I would definitely visit this again. Would be nice to have usb c ports instead of normal USB A on the rooms to charge.

Fantastic hotel, breakfast superb, nice and clean, beds comfortable, a little out of the center of town but uber about 7 euros into center, rooms very big, had a kettle and coffee machine, bath was a lovely size, shower was powerful, hairdryer nice and powerful

Could have done with a little pool or communal hot tub just to cool off after a day of sightseeing

The receptionist was very professional and kind (there was a problem with the online payment system of the hotel). The comfort was very good. The breakfast was excellent and expensive. There is a parking place (additional price).

There was a problem with the online payment (we were charged twice for the same stay, so corrections were needed and a bit unpleasant situation happened - the receptionist was helpful). The parking in the garage is extremely narrow to enter and exit, not so convenient for frequent car use, and public transport is poor at the location. The breakfast is expensive. The parking could be free of charge. The location is far from the metro and the city centre - there are buses, but not that frequent, especially later in the evening, so problems returning (takes more than an hour of bus&waiting).
