I really enjoyed my stay at By Doors Hostel. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making check-in smooth and giving great local tips. The place has a cozy, homey vibe with stylish decor and a clean, well-kept environment. The location is perfect—within walking distance to all the main spots in Porto, but still tucked away enough to feel quiet and relaxed. The common areas are great for meeting other travelers, and the small touches like fresh coffee and comfy beds really made a difference. Would definitely stay again!

The only downside was that the rooms could get a bit warm at night, especially if the windows were closed. Also, while the shared bathrooms were generally clean, they could get a little busy during peak times. Nothing major, but just something to keep in mind.

Small room but cozy, with complete bathroom which you share with 4 people maximum. Two outlets, personal bed light and little shelf for your personal stuff or to place your phone when you charge it while you sleep. Personal lockers with provided key. Helpful and very friendly staff. Nicely decorated patio where you can hang out and socialize with guests, eat something, etc.

Kitchen can be better equipped. No obvious place where to store food apart from the fridges, though you get some cupboard space after asking staff. The piano they show in the pictures does not work, it's just decoration and that was a bit heartbreaking.

The people and staff were fantastic. There were two different kitchens, and food was allowed to be left for others to use, which fosters an environment of sharing. The patio and the rooms and bathrooms were wonderful.

I wish the bedroom doors had had locks on them, and that the women’s room was not right as you walked in on the first floor, simply for safety reasons. However, there was no need to feel unsafe and keys for lockers were provided.

The two women receptionists and the two men that maintain the rooms were all friendly doing an excellent job making sure everyone was comfortable and secure. They tried hard to communicate with all the various languages represented there and we’re extremely helpful.

If driving, you need to pay parking Monday through Saturday near the property.

I stayed at the motel for 2 weeks and for the price the experience was perfect! All the staff are friendly, polite and very helpful with city recommendations or just for a chat. The room and common area are also kept very clean, and there is a cool, colorful lounge area outside. The location of the motel is very easy to find from Casa da Música - straight down Avenue da Boavista where there are ATMs and bus stations. Around the motel there is a grocery store LIDL and all kinds of parks.

It’s pretty good (depends which room you book). The room for 6 people is pretty small. The room for 4 people is really nice! Wifi works good, late check in without problems! Friendly stuff

It would be good idea to have the rule on the kitchen not to speak so loudly at night, cause we were sleeping and then just people on the kitchen started speak SO loudly at 1am. I asked them not to scream cause all around are sleeping, but they didn't even pretend to be quieter( it would be good to have some rules for such people in the night time. One more, as for me the coverlet was too thin, it’s good there was a heater in the room

The hostel was very nice, comfortable, clean and we loved the facilities. The team was helpful and friendly, and the decor overall is definitely well thought of. The back patio/terrace is fab, ideal for grabbing a beer with your friends and meet new people! Nice wee rooms and comfy mattresses.

The room was a bit small which made it hard to navigate discreetly around the beds and set out our luggage

My room has a bathroom, so I shared it only with the girls who live with me. There is access to the kitchen and a nice patio. The place is value for money and the staff is helpful.

The room was really small, there is no possibility to have your suitcase open all time. It's around 15 min from the metro station and more than 40 min from the center on foot.

Very welcoming and friendly staff! Equipped kitchen with enough space. The outside patio is nice and relaxing. Quiet and silent area. Close to public transports/ metro line directly to the airport.

Maybe a suggestion to put more hangers in the bathroom or a shelf can be useful

Nice hostel, the staff were super friendly and accomodating!! The room and general areas were kept clean and tidy. Overall a great value for money.

The only issue we had is our bed was a bit uncomfortable, and made lots of noise whenever you moved
