I highly recommend this place. They are associated with a B&B in the next block who has a full time attendant and manages the apartments. The room was small but clean and modern. The staff is very responsive with pre-arrival questions. The location for Camino walkers is great (about 1/2km off the beach path. The location is also perfect for exploring the town. A great grocery store is a block away also. Our luggage transport company delivered to this location. You can’t go wrong booking this place.

The room was clean, and cleaned regularly, the room was freshly renovated. The location is very good, there is a nice Cafe on the ground floor.

There was not enough space for storage of clothes, this was uncomfortable. The room is very small. It would be nice to have a couple of shelves for the clothes and a couple of glasses for water.

This was a cute little place to stay for my family for the first night of our camino. It was close enough to the beach and we spent the afternoon there. Restaurants are within walking distance and there is a lovely coffee shop below the hotel for breakfast in the morning and a supermarket close by. I would recommend it for families. We are a family of 5 so we had to take 2 rooms. There was air-con and TV and lovely hot showers so we had a great relaxing evening.

I would have loved a communal kitchen area to prepare a dinner or make some tea and I think this would be a great addition to your property.

The location was great and near shops and the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to store our luggage

We couldn't check in before 15.00 despite arriving early in the morning, after a long international trip. But we understood that the rooms were fully booked and that we had to wait.

Slightly quirky in some ways but also quite magnificent. You are next to Matosinhos Sul tram stop so great for getting to Porto or to the airport. You have to check in at another B and B about 100 yards away and then you are given an entry code and a code for your room. I was a bit out of my comfort zone with this but it worked perfectly. The receptionist at the other B and B was extremely helpful, explaining everything in detail and providing information about Matosinhos. Check in was not until 3pm so she stowed my bags securely until then. The room itself was small but beautifully fitted out. I had everything I needed and there were plenty of cafes close by for the evening meal and breakfast, which the guest house itself does not provide.

I thought this was excellent value and I would not look to change anything.

Great place to stay in Matosinhos. Close to everything, lovely and helpful staff. All of us got the flu during our stay in Matosinhos and we had to stay five days extra at the hotel to be well enough to be able to travel home. Hotel staff were absolutely wonderful and despite it being Easter and the hotel booked, they managed to find rooms for all of us so we didn't have to change hotels, just walk across the hall : ) I am very grateful to the São Francisco for helping us out, staff always pleasant to us, coming to our room/apartment so we could pay, we didn't have to check out in between changing rooms etc.

Only negative would be that the WiFi didn't work for us.

I stayed for my first night after Porto on the Camino Portugues. Extremely clean and very comfortable. LIDL close by for supplies.

Check-in was quite confusing - you need to check in down the street at the Del Rei B&B. However, a very helpful cleaning lady pointed me in the right direction. Also, slightly frustrating to have no kitchen facilities. Otherwise excellent.

Clean, bright and ideal location. Easy to catch metro to Porto, nice bakery below for coffee and breakfast

Bathroom is the smallest I've ever had, how you fitted everything in, I don't know! But for 1 or 2 nights, it is just fine. Hairdryer tried to work, got hot, but fan inside didn't work, so it cut out for an hour. Ideally, it needs replacing

Very clean! The shower was a rain shower which was lovely. It was also conveniently a 2 minute walk from a grocery store and a 6 minute walk from the beach/the Camino.

Little to no soundproofing. Even with the windows and large wooden shutters closed, noise from the street was very loud. Check in is at Del Rei, which is very closeby, but I only knew this by reading reviews of the property.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable bedroom. Very central location and with easy access to the beach. It was perfect for one person for a business trip.

Things to improve: They don't tell you that you need to do the check in in another building nearby. I would prefer to be told to go there directly. The place is not suitable for people with mobility issues - that should be made clear. The room is quite small - there is no wardrobe or a place to put a suitcase, so not suitable for staying longer than a couple of nights.
