Genuinely couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. The staff were unbelievably responsive via email prior to our stay booked us a taxi, recommended a fantastic local spa and even upgraded our room. When we arrived the apartment was better than expected- it was spotlessly clean and was thoughtfully kitted out with everything we needed. They even have deckchairs, brollies and kids toys to borrow and bring to the beach. You can’t beat the location, it’s right on the beach - the perfect spot to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee and listen to music while people watching in the day. There are so many fantastic cafes just below you and two supermarkets a few minutes walk away. The apartment is also well suited for people keen to hike the stunning cliff top trails. The beds were comfy, the apartment was much bigger than expected and the bathroom newly renovated with a brilliant shower. It’s been a while since I’ve felt compelled to write a review but myself and my mum were so delighted with the accommodation and the wonderful staff. We’ve already planned our return and I have a feeling we’ll be visiting this spot year after after. Thank you so much for the perfect stay. Couldn’t pick a thing.

The location was excellent with lovely views across the beach and to listen to the sea when falling asleep and then again when you wake. Our apartment was superb, very clean, and contained everything that was needed for our stay, including extras such as sun umbrella, which you can take to the beach. The receptionist was very helpful and guided us to all the places that we wanted to go to. We loved it so much that we are returning next year. A first for us on any holiday.

Loved the beach front one bedroom apartment with 5 star view of beach from the balcony. 2 min walk to beach. Good kitchen amenities for 4 night stay, cooked my breakfasts and lunches. Nice touches from hosts: ordered a wine/cheese tray to start trip off so I did not have to go to store right away. Hosts provide beach chairs and umbrellas and boogie boards for use as well as small food coolers. Provided lunch/breakfasts packs too if desired. Laundromat on site for use as well. Free parking. Hosts happy to help with booking activities, taxis et cetera.

Disappointed that the AC unit is only in the downstairs bedroom and there is not one in the upstairs living/kitchen area where it is the hottest. It was at least 100F during my stay and I could not lounge in the living area comfortably until the sun was down. It was also very hot on the balcony on those days too, although the awning was helpful some. However, I was there to spend my daylight hours outside on the beach sightseeing or cycling so suffering the heat in the apartment for a few hours in the upstairs wasn't too awful given the great location and other ameneties.

The apartment was wonderful! It is directly above the promenade right beside the beach so it was literally a minute or two to great cafes and a lovely beach. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet and cool downstairs. It had everything we needed and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Nothing but be aware there is a spiral staircase down to the bedroom and the only air conditioner is in the bedroom. We found we could keep the upstairs a little cooler that if we closed the door and pulled the curtain upstairs during the day when we weren't there.

Bethany, the manager, was amazing - friendly and incredibly helpful. The apartments are perfectly located right on the beach in the best part of Luz, with stunning views. They also provided loads of beach gear like umbrellas and chairs, beach bats etc which made things super convenient. Luz is a truly special place, and Luz Beachside Apartments are just as memorable. Can’t wait to come back.

The best equipped apartment I've ever been in, when i thought they may have missed something, I found it! The shower was huge and the towels and linen were really good. Huge bed. Location cannot be beaten. Lots of good places to eat. Everyone who worked there had a smile on their face. It was fabulous 😊

For some people who forgot the shampoo,(me!) maybe a small bottle with the soap and shower gel but that's just me being picky.

Spotless, amazing location, and excellent facilities in terms of umbrellas (with sand anchors), beach chairs, and cool box. Could not fault staff - very friendly and attentive.

Our only criticism is that there is no air conditioning upstairs - I think when paying this price, this should be available. It made the upstairs living quarters almost unusable during the daytime. I feel like this needs an upgrade soon.

It says Parking available on the add but in summer it will be challenging to find a place in the street during the day. Check out too early (10am) and the constant reminders to leave the room at 10am is annoying (two times on the last day). Called the emergency number during the night and no one picked up. Restaurant nearby is too noisy in the morning when they move chairs.

Loved the location, view from our room and Luz in general. Our apartment was spacious and very enjoyable. Convenience of being right on the beach, and surrounded by restaurants and cafes was great. The surrounding areas are beautiful, and it's a short drive away from Ponta da Piedade and other cool spots.

Wifi didn't work well in our room, and our TV couldn't connect to it so we weren't able to stream any shows/movies. We didn't spend that much time in our room, so it didn't really impact quality of our stay. A separate issue that isn't the hotel's fault, the Luz beach had a ton of seaweed on it when we first arrived Wednesday. By Sunday, it had been completely cleared, but we ended up mostly going to beaches in the surrounding area instead of Luz beach.

I had a beachfront unit that had a small balcony with a great view of the beach and the rainbow hills in the distance. The sunsets were amazing! It's a two story unit with a spiral staircase to the large bedroom and bathroom in the lower level where there is a wall mounted mini-split for AC/heat. There is another outdoor patio area off the bedroom that has a table for dining, lounge chairs and drying racks to hang wet beach clothes and towels. I was really impressed with the little kitchen and how it was stocked with pots, pans, a variety of utensils, bakeware, juicer, Nespresso maker, hot pot, etc. The upstairs had comfy living room furniture, dining set and TV. They also provide beach umbrellas, chairs and boogie boards. There are a couple grocery stores within a 15-20 minute walk, as well as a variety of restaurants/bars.The staff is very friendly and hands-on and are available during business hours to assist with any questions, etc. There is plenty of free parking in front of the apartments and on the street. I would stay here again for sure.

The only thing that was an issue initially was the musty smell the apartment had when I first checked in, but after having the doors and windows open for a bit, the smell went away. It would be nice to have a mini-split upstairs for AC when it's too hot out to have the balcony door and window open.
