We loved our stay at Selina! We arrived earlier and we’re lucky enough to be checked in straight away and got upgraded for a private room with a bathroom. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location of the hostel is incredible! Only few steps away from all the shops and restaurants. There’s no direct beach access, but it didn’t bother us, because Playa Norte was only 5min away and it’s an absolutely beautiful beach. The hostel also has a great pool with sun beds and hammocks all around. I would definitely recommend this place to solo travellers and youngish couples. It’s not luxurious, but it has a lovely vibe for sure!

We stayed on Isla Mujeres only 1 night and it was our biggest regret!;)

nice room with good air con, close to Playa Norte and the town center. Great restaurants close by called Mahaché and Xantolo. Good wifi and nice decoration of the place. Good for "homeoffice working nomads" as there is a quiet and well equipped working area.

The staff was not very friendly, not very helpful when I had questions. Only one of the girls at my check in was nice and let me get changed in the back of the reception as my room was not ready yet. Towards the end of my stay, it started to be very smelly in my room because of humidity and although I tried to let the door open as long as I could to let the wet air go out it wouldn't help.

Beautiful location, loved their breakfast and evening cocktails. Also the turtles were nesting right at the beach of the hostel, that was amazing to watch.

Rooms are dimly lit, difficult to see had to open window curtain but a couple stayed directly across us and it was odd seeing them through their window and them is. Also was very disappointed that their pool was closed for maintenance and were told about this the day before we arrived! They did however comp us with free breakfast for the duration of our stay and it was delicious.

The location is perfect here, you are right on the beach although you can’t swim there but it’s only a few minutes walk down to playa Norte beach which is beautiful. The area around the hostel is really nice, there are hammocks and seating areas and a nice pool. It’s not far from the ferry terminal so easy to walk there. There is free yoga which is really good. You can fill your water bottle up for free. The kitchen area is good. I stayed in a female dorm and the beds were really comfortable. There are nights when they have DJ’s/music on for those that want to party. I found it was a nice chilled hostel and easy to socialise.

On arrival my dorm hadn’t been cleaned. There was always an issue with the key card trying to get in the room. The shower sprayed water all over the bathroom. However the staff were helpful with sorting these matters. The dorms are very dark and dingy! They could do with a spuce up! No light by the beds. No towels provided and they charge you per day to use aswell as a deposit. I don’t mind paying a deposit but feel this is a rip off charging for the use. You have to pay to store your luggage which again I feel is bad when you have stayed there. The kitchen could do with a microwave. I feel the dorm rooms are overpriced. These are just things that could be improved on. Overall I think the positives out-way the negatives and I would choose to stay here again.

We were lucky to be offered an upgrade and we appreciated the welcome drink, as well as the sweets and the water bottles left in the room. The room however was pretty small and the bathroom a bit old. It was really humid and the air puryfier really helped, however you can not sleep at night if it is on. The shared bathrooms are really small and not very convenient. The staff and the location were perfect.

All was good, can only recommend it :) Common working space area served its role in the very beginning of the vacay, even if needed to work at night for a while

Sometimes parties organized in the beach bar area didn't let us rest properly.

We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice it was given it's average rating. Good pool. Lovely aircon. Helpful friendly staff who upgraded us so we could have bottom bunks. Cool that they have daily activities. Great location. Would recommend for backpackers keen on a little resort like break ☺️

A touch more expensive than we'd like for dorm rooms. Bathrooms sometimes smelt quite musty. Free water only sometimes (but great that it is there at times). Overall still definitely worth it ☺️ really enjoyed out stay!

This place is located in an amazing location. Very close to the playa Norte and so if you stay in Selina you do not need any means of transportation, very close to everything within a few minutes walk. Hostel itself is very spacious, with lots of space: open swimming pool, bar, kitchen area, gym. Lot's of place to hang out with somebody or stay alone. The staff is friendly and polite. The rooms are quiet, beds are comfortable. The price is affordable. The internet is working fine. I really enjoyed my stay, thanks a lot.

The location is very nice and very nicely located in the north of the island, close to the best beach of Isla Mujeres, close to bar and restaurant, to supermarket and to the ferry. The kitchen is available for all the guest to cook their own food but you also have the possibility to eat at breakfast and lunch at the restaurant/bar. I slept in the female dormitory with 6 beds and it was very nice, we had the common bathroom among 6 persons inside the room. The AC was always on, but not in a crazy way, so perfect for me. It is true that the rooms do not have window for the light but you can always turn on the lights until 10PM, so I do not see the problem described by some other reviews. I was a solo female traveler and I felt very safe and in a very good place, so I recommend!! They also give the towels for free and without deposit!

It is true that you do not have much space for the storage and that the room is not super big, and for the money that you spend it could be bigger, but it is not something that ruins your stay in my opinion. I liked a lot to stay there, also because prices in the north of the island are always high.

The design and decor were pretty quirky and the overall vibe of the place matched the island. We were looking for a place to have a boogie and a couple of drinks after sightseeing and this was perfect for that as the rest of the island is like a ghost town after midnight.

It was highly priced for a private room within a hostel, included breakfast options were pretty basic, check in and check out experience felt really disconnected and lacking. Also, there were no food options nearby or at least a vending machine to grab something to eat after dancing at the party.
