People were very friendly and the food was good. The price was reasonable with the delicious breakfast

Unfortunately there was water issues while we we there, making it difficult to take a shower or even flush the toilets. The staff apologised sincerely and even if it was not their fault. No compensation was offered

Majority of the staff were very friendly and seemed happy to help. They always asked if we enjoyed our stay or were okay or needed anything. Service with a smile is always much appreciated :)

A little more empathy from the staff checking us in. My sister had also booked a room but unfortunately her son fractured his ankle at football so went to hospital and was unable to attend. Some empathy from the staff checking us in would have been good as this happened the day before so my sister had called them to explain etc. In the end, we paid for two rooms/2 families but only used one. It's the little things that count and I think the hotel could have done more in this scenario. Thanks.

Friendly and helpful staff from the minute we arrived. Room was very clean, bright, warm feeling to it. Bathroom was spotlessly clean, shower water hot, hand pump soap and shampoo smells lovely, towels also spotlessly clean. All the cleaning staff were very friendly, helpful and excellent at their job. Breakfast was lovely, quite a large selection to choose from and the English breakfast selection was very hot and very tasty, so compliments to the chef too. The lounge area was spotlessly clean and I loved the small blue horseshoe style chairs so much, I nearly asked the staff if I could buy one haha. Overall honest opinion? I've stayed in more expensive places that were not to the standard of here.

Only two minor things. The flexi hose to the shower looked a bit grubby, but that was due to limescale, not dirt....but some people may complain about that. I didn't realise until the day I was leaving....at the side of the large mirror in the room, there were like pigeon hole boxes at the side, with an iron and ironing board. I actually travel with a small iron but I had to use the small table that was there. Maybe some labelling or an information card in the room of things provided?

The staff are outstanding. The level of service better than a 5 star hotel. Each guest is welcomed with generosity and kindness. The hotel is immaculately clean, nothing is too much effort. I had read previous reviews but couldn’t believe how good they were but they were no exaggeration. The manager is incredible he is out meeting guests with genuine pleasure. He used to run a hotel in Dubai, Holiday Inn are very lucky to have him. His whole staff share his ethos. I was given a quiet room and there was no motorway noise. It has good electric car charging points ,I needed to charge my electric car and they are only hotel in the area that have them. There is easy parking too.

Coming off the motorway from Dover direction is tricky in the dark for my old eyes as there are no street lights on the overpass.

Nice hotel very clean the rooms were a good size. Bathroom was clean and spacious very good shower good selection of shampoo and shower gel Very good breakfast plenty of choice from cereals and cooked and also croissants and small cakes. Tea and coffee available and juice

Basically the price my dates were incorrect should have been August but November got booked I changed the dates through booking.com which took forever and increased the price but £53 which I find unacceptable holiday companies just ripping people off other than that a nice stay

Parking is charged extra at £3 per car per night. That's really disappointing as the location is out of the way and there's no way anyone else is going to be parking there. Plus it's a massive car park and wasn't even half full. We stayed here a few years ago and weren't charged parking then. It's a good little hotel but due to this annoying charge I probably won't book again. Road works meant the road to the hotel was closed when we returned from supper. We were escorted through the road works by a road maintenance truck. It would have been helpful to have had a heads up on this from the staff.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We have been greeted by the hotel manager, and within minutes checked in, everything explained very clearly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a small restaurant/bar where we were able to order a nice pizza and some chips. Good selection of food and drinks. The room was clean and decent size. Towels and essential toiletries available. Hairdryer, too! Breakfast in the morning - plenty to choose from, amazing coffee and toast! It was busy, but we didn't have a problem getting a table or getting food. The staff was checking all the time if everything was there, and if not, they were quickly topping it up. It's definitely a great place to stay for a night when you want to visit Canterbury or when you are driving to get a ferry or eurotunnel and you need to rest.

The location, it was difficult to get there from Canterbury city centre, the hotel is by the motorway behind BP petrol station. The other thing, we have been woken up by someone (most probably the cleaner?) opening our door around 8am (on a Sunday! 🥴), having 2 little children asleep and waking up to the noise, as you can imagine, we had to start the day from there...

The breakfast was first class in choice, quantity and presentation. The restaurant, although with a quite limited menu,was also top quality. The hotel was absolutely spotless throughout and the staff were very professional and very attentive to the needs of guests. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone

Nothing, everything was great. A small thing was, I noticed, on the website, under a photo of the outside of the property, it stated that car parking was free, not true, it is actually a very cheap £3 a night. Worth every penny but a misleading statement that should be removed.

the helpfulness of the staff, both at reception, when my email address was not recognised by the wi-fi and especially at breakfast where everybody was particularly attentive and eager to provide assistance.

1. the fact that parking overnight cost extra even though it is inconceivable that anyone other than hotel guests would want to park there. 2. it was a very time-consuming process to gain internet access with the e-mail address with which I received information from the hotel. The system maintained that this address did not exist. The man at reception was flexible enough - after he too had failed to log me in - to give me access via the conference wi-fi network.

The purpose of our visit to Canterbury was to drop our son to university. We booked 2 nights are the hotel. The hotel is situated a few minutes drive from town, it is a quiet location set in from the main road. We had been advised that all the food prepared in the kitchen is cooked fresh. The breakfast bar offered great choice and the food is consistently replenished as needed. On the second night we decided to eat dinner at the hotel and it did not disappoint, the food was fresh and delicious. The most important thing for me when staying at any hotel is the cleanliness and staff and this hotel excelled in both. It is obvious that the Manager and his team take great pride in their work to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay. The team and their manager are a credit to The Holiday Inn Group.
