The property was clean and tidy, we were near the spa so there was a lovely smell around our room and corridor.

There was a “milk fridge” for fresh milk in tea/coffee outside our room but it was never fillers Paying for the pool £10 for 90 mins, seemed a little unfair after paying for the room.

Not feeling too well on day of departure and I was not charged full price for breakfast because I asked if I could only have tea and toast. All staff very friendly and helpful. Well stocked fridge every day and complimentary toiletries if requested. Nice to have a safe, ironing board and iron, and hairdryer all provided as we had travelled a long distance to attend a wedding in the area. Wifi connected automatically when you get your room, so very easy to access.

The wildflower garden is absolutely atrocious, and spoils the look of the otherwise immaculately trimmed hedges and flower borders. It is not in keeping with the rest of the hotel and far too much of it, (and in the forefront of the building) looking like a wilderness of unkept spare piece of land. Hardly the garden view I expected, and obviously not working as I only saw 4 butterflies and 2 birds during my whole stay!! Wild gardens in my opinion are colourful throughout the whole season with lots of different wild flowers you can identify, but this one is just a mass of overgrown weeds. Could also do with some litter bins on the premises especially in the massive car park.

We have been to the hotel many times over the years and have seen it's transformation. It has a very relaxed air, with good outdoor seating check in and out very easy. Room in the club house was tasteful and the bathroom was compact and the shower was great.This hotel is a good place to stop with access to some wonderful places such as Lancaster with it's Castle, Preston, the Lake District, Trough of Bowland, Blackpool, Scorton, Longridge etc

Only one set of towels in the bathroom. Breakfast fell far short of our expectations. Good choice of cereals pastries etc, the main problem was the hot food which was not hot. We understand that keeping dishes hot is difficult, so would suggest that it may be better for guests to order the cooked breakfast when seated this would reduce waste, and having the bacon go so hard that it was difficult to cut. We found the pork sausages to be inferior in quality, there are many places in the area that served or sell fantastic ones. It may also be better if guests had a station where they could get beverages rather than having to keep asking staff, most of the hotels we stop in either here or abroad have this.

Our evening meal was a disaster as the food was dry and overcooked. Possibly as hotel was very busy with a wedding that day as well as large 70th birthday party that went on until about 2am!! Spoke with restaurant manager who took our drinks of the bill but it was not the sort of meal l Was expecting at such a nice hotel……. Then sadly breakfast on the Sunday morning was nearly as bad. It was like the January sales to try find a table!! The place was over full. Poor manager found us a table but still a long queue for the buffet breakfast. My advice is avoid a Saturday if weddings or parties are on and the same with Sunday breakfast! Shame as room lovely but restaurant way too small for numbers using it.

I understand about paying 10.00 per person for the use of the spa as it’s very well maintained and pristine ,However we would have also loved an early morning swim , but to he honest we had already paid £20.00 to use the pool etc for 90 minutes the evening prior so it would have been extra 20.00 Maybe consider including an am visit within the booking or even usage of the spa pool for 24 hours enabling pm and am swim Working out much better value for money

The breakfast was absolutely amazing - excellent choice & all top quality products & fresh. Croissants were delicious & the cooked breakfast was also really tasty, we were very pleased. The spa & pool were also great. The sauna & steam worked really well, pool was clean & refreshing - lovely cool temperature after the heat of the sauna & steam & the heated beds were so nice & relaxing. The beds & room were also comfortable & we enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant too. Good, patient, kind & friendly service from all - reception & dining.

Nothing really - it did get quite warm in the spa area but not sure if much can be done about though. Couldn’t find any water fountain which would be a nice addition. Also perhaps some fresh bread options / pain au chocolat / hot chocolate to be included in breakfast but not necessary as really was plentiful & delicious.

Staff in all areas are very welcoming and helpful, couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is very clean and very well presented. Free WiFi is quick enough and stable and the room was very clean and well stocked. We had a quick dinner and the portions were very good and tasty. The Breakfast was well stocked and a good selection. Parking on site

The only real point was in the restaurant. On both occasions, most tables were left full of plates and glasses, and not one picked up a plate when walking back to the kitchen from dropping our food to our table, just pushing in chairs if they were slightly out. Dinner was about 5% full (max) and breakfast 50%

my wife and I arrived for our breakfast at 9:45 we had to wait for a table to be cleaned, although not may guests having breakfast, then informed YOU are the last ones . All items on the cooked buffet were cold ,bacon was hard sitting in cold fat fried eggs were like rubber , scrambled eggs were nice but again cold ,ingredients appeared to be good standard , if we had to arrive earlier to have an enjoyable breakfast, we would have but , time said till 10am . One of the staff very helpful when she observed we were looking for something (honey) quickly went and got some . We really struggled to attend the party as have a lot of family commitments due to ill health ,but thought we would attend have a couple of drinks,a lovely breakfast before getting back to commitments. Overall really disappointed .

Overall the food was amazing 😊 the chef needs too be praised on the gorgeous food perfectly cooked the presentation off the food was also so good 😊 better than were I usually stay room clean and comfortable the only issue I had was no bath but can cope with that breakfast was beautiful staff lovley in both evening and morning manager we met at night was such a lovley guy other night staff were so nice overall excellent hotel the spa area and pool so nice for the peace 1 st time staying here and for a busy mummy having a rest this definitely will be the next place I stay 👍👍

Just a bath in room

Beautiful hotel with great facilities for our overnight stay. We were attending a wedding nearby, so were only really sleeping in the room. The late checkout time of 11am meant we were able to use the complimentary swimming pool, sauna and steam room, the next morning before we departed, which was great. Our room was only a short walk away from the pool and there was also a milk fridge and ice machine in the corridor outside our room, which was an added bonus! We stayed in a Classic King room and it was beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower, but water pressure was pretty low. This is a big hotel, but our room was very quiet and the pool was nice and quiet too. I would definitely stay here again and recommend others to do the same.

The only slight negative was the water pressure in the shower being a bit low. This wasn't a big deal though as the water was lovely and warm and the bathroom had underfloor heating, which was very welcoming!
