The location was excellent, lots of heritage buildings in the area and loads of restaurants, easy walking distance to Bugis, Little India and the mtr to get to other areas. The bed was very comfortable.

We had a room with a window but couldn't open it or see anything out of it. Guests returning in the early hours were noisy and rang our bell several times by mistake.

The bed was so comfortable, I swear it fixed my back issues! The hotel has 24 hour reception which was great as we arrived at 3:30am. Overall, staff were friendly, efficient and responsive, the bar fridge is complimentary which was also a nice surprise. (Restocking the bar fridge will cost you, but the items in there when you arrive are free of charge). The hotel is close to the Nicoll St train station and there is a bus stop right out the front. Public transport is easy to use as you can just tap your bank card (MC or Visa) on and off, no need to buy tickets/passes. Most rides cost $0.11 (AUD). The local food scene is fantastic and very walkable.

Please note, if booking an attic room on the third floor, the elevator only goes to the second floor. You will need to carry your bags up the stairs from the second floor to the third floor. The bathroom was a little small, but sufficed, and was clean. The only issue I had was with dim lighting in the bathroom, a minor inconvenience.

No breakfast. Chosen in part as incl restaurant, but actually ate out, as so much choice. Cocktail bar was lovely , with live music, of a little pricey for a glass of wine. The Kampong Glam area was very beautiful, with excellent info plaques & walking trails re history & culture. The nearby mosque is amazing. The Sultan is perfectly placed within this authentic area of interest and incredible food and shopping choices, with easy & safe access to Little India, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands etc- there are several MRT stations in easy walking distance to access most attractions and the incredible Singapore Changi airport is only 20 mins Grab (Singapore’s Uber) distant. There are stopping spaces outside the hotel for put down/ collection, as well as a bus stop just outside. I would recommend The Sultan most highly to visitors, both solo, as I was this time, or as a couple/ family, with its range of rooms.

Nothing comes to mind. It was excellent.

Excellent service with the reception. Great cosyness, nice location. The complimentary mini bar, coffee and tea as well as the excellent biscotti given.

The flooring was a bit wore off in my room.

Awesome location in beautiful, fun & hip Kampong Glam. nice upgrade to larger room. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Nice touch with complimentary bar fridge. Also, we just love this old traditional restored building, it has a great feel.

Only shortcoming was our bathroom; while it was very large (& set up for accessibility), there was no way to prevent shower water going everywhere and nowhere to hang a towel or clothes. This could be easily fixed though, with a few hooks and a shower curtain 🙂

Everything was as I expected in the 'old quarter' of Singapore. It was easy to access dinner and lunch at the hotel and across the road at eateries. Staff were delightful, friendly and very helpful. It was no one's fault that Singapore was awash - 4 weeks rain in 4 days made moving around difficult so we stayed in the hotel resting instead. The last day we had help organising taxis to and from the Light Show in the gardens at the Bay. Beautiful. Thank you Sultan - loved the feeling and atmosphere

We would have liked to come down to a breakfast - even just a continental (croissants & coffee or tea). Unfortunately, tea with coffee froth powdered milk does not work so I couldn't make an early cuppa and resorted to Jasmine tea - which I like, but my 12 year old grandson (family I was travelling with) did not get a hot drink first thing. Maybe provide the option of long life milk in the fridge or powdered milk suitable for tea drinkers. Also, put up hooks in the bathroom or on the outside of the wardrobe doors, so that we can hang up damp towels after showers. Otherwise, thanks.

Beautiful old buildings, hotel included the building in the street behind, which left these rooms very quiet, and the most charming hotel "corridor" that I've ever seen! As the corridor was an open air covered walkway, which then crossed over back gardens, and a bridge over a back alleyway. Beautiful! The heritage room was spacious, with a high ceiling, shaded and stayed cool once the a/c was turned on, very comfy bed, crisp linen and quiet. Bathroom small but functional. Nice toiletries and decent shower. Great location, short walk to a 7/11, bus stops, 10 minutes to an MRT, the Sultan Mosque and Haji Lane, a vibrant Street of restaurants and bars. The hotel restaurant was not yet open when we were there. There is a pavement cafe opposite where we got masala dosa for breakfasts! Great! Kampong glam a lovely area, beautiful 2 storey heritage buildings, nestled next to stylish steel and glass skyscrapers. Good location, very pleasant staff. Charming, glad we found this little gem out of the mass of accommodation available in Singapore

Some instruction on how to use the a/c and hot water emersion would have been helpful on arrival. The safe was broken on arrival, but a maintenance man attended quickly and sorted the problem.

The location, so very near eateries around Kg Glam and have 2 viable options of MRT stations, nearest being Nicoll Highway on CC line or Bugis on EW line Also, the beds are truly comfortable, especially nice after a long day of walking about. Was pleasantly surprised by the Expresso machine as part of the package and fact that the hotel was kind to top up when requested. Staff was pleasant and helpful

Turndown or housekeeping was for every 2 days only, plus the noisy guests on the second floor who banged floor with luggage or whatever it was late at night/wee hours of the morning. Plus, the side street was public parking, so if you had drunk loud uncles walk by, good luck trying to sleep

This was probably my fourth time at The Sultan. I do like the design of the hotel, the open spaces between wings and the sight of leaves on the planks. Sharmaine, the receptionist who booked me in, was very professional and friendly. Another receptionist, a Muslim lady, changed my room without me asking or expecting it because of an issue. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and coffee-shops. I like the fact that it is a single storey establishment, so no stairs to be climbed or waiting for lifts.

The Sultan used to serve breakfast (the first two times I stayed there) years ago. What a pity they do not do that anymore.
