Clean, large room with a good size bathroom. Nice bedding and a kind of interesting utilitarian decor. Really terrific restaurant in the hotel with very helpful staff, good quality weekday lunch specials and a value for money, breakfast. Very close to everything...Old Bucharest literally on the door step... you can walk to most central sites.

We stayed Saturday night and it seems like there was a techno dance party blaring music to about 4am in the bar across the lane, from the hotel. The hotel staff said they had put us in a quiet room away from the street noise... so I would hate to have been in a noisy room. Check this out when you book in.

Clean, good facilities, great location with the Urbanist bar 10m from the entrance, several nice churches nearby and TONS of bars, including Halftime Pub for sports (4 min), Mister John for wine (4 min), Caru cu bere for the compulsory Romanian dinner in a fantastic setting (7 min), Beer O'Clock for the great domestic craft beer (5 min), Linea - Closer to the Moon (11 min), etc.

The people in old town refusing to take "No" for an answer when you tell them you're not interested in entering their dodgy bar.

breakfast was good, a fine selection and everything was fresh. staff was nice and really helpfull. room was great and clean. location is super - next to the old city, and close by to a metro station.

our windows turned outside and next to the hotel there's a pub that plays loud music. for me it was a plus, since i think it's nice to have a pub 3 meters from the hotel, especially in winter time. but for my mom it was a bit hard to fall asleep, even though the windows block most of the noise outside.

The hotel is charming and centrally located. The beds were super comfortable. Lovely decor. Staff were welcoming.

Felt a little embarrassed by being accosted by staff who said I had not paid for breakfast, I thought it was included, my mistake. This could have been handled in a better, more discreet way. Was a little taken aback to be pursued by the payment machine. The restaurant was okay. The music was really off putting and didn't make for a relaxing pleasant experience. The service in the restaurant could have been better/friendlier. A good experience at the hotel overall.

The staff were amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable. The mattress was really comfortable. The interior of the hotel was very quiet.

Lots of noise outside however the windows being shut offered amazing sound proofing so it wasn't much of an issue. On a hotter night the air-con may not have been sufficient. Bit of a a minor matter but not being told that a half marathon was happening on the day we were checking out was a bit annoying because it meant we had to go get an uber to the airport. There was a sign up on the day we left but it would have been nice to have been told earlier. A kettle isn't provided which seemed strange given tea bags are... they had to send someone with a kettle. Didn't try the breakfast. Location was ideal but rather noisy and people congregate in the doorway Overall a good stay. Shower was very good.

The hotel layout & location is excellent! The beds were comfy. I feel they are a bit dated, could do with modernising. Really clean though. The breakfast is nice. They even sorted us a breakfast to take on our trip, we couldn’t have been more grateful. I am gluten free and they provided me with GF bread for toast and made me a sandwich. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated that, so did my family. The staff are all lovely.

It’s opposite a bar, that is open very late. The music was on until 2am and really thumping. Great if you on a night out, but when you have early starts which we did on two of the nights, it was a bit of a shame.

April 2025

I booked two rooms and was expecting to be upgraded with one of them(due to built up bonuses on Booking). But when we arrived we were advised that both rooms had been upgraded, which was a lovely surprise. The location for our one night stay was perfectly situated in the heart of the old town. Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and professional. Our rooms, junior suites, were ample in size and comfortable and relaxing, which given the location(busy area), was a plus.

I guess if I have anything to say here, it would be the shock at seeing the outside of the building as we got out of the taxi. All of us said the same thing, "let's hope the interior is better than the exterior" and it was.

The location is great, staff very friendly, breakfast was excellent, rooms very comfortable and well sound proofed despite the street noise. Air conditioning worked very well at outside temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius. Room large and bathroom also larger than usual hotel rooms. The food at the Mghiran Restaurant in the hotel was also very good. The surrounding area is excellent, especially the fountains and the light and music show associated with them at night time, as well as all of the old downtown and historic buildings in the area.

The only problem I found with this location was the fact that it has no parking except for some paid parking somewhere across the busy road between buildings where I didn't feel very comfortable to leave my vehicle. For loading and unloading the luggage we took the chance and parked temporary on the side of the road in the taxi stand without any complaints. It is however understandable the lack of parking in a busy downtown of a large metropolis like Bucharest. There is however plenty of public transportation available just steps away from the hotel.

December 2024

We stayed four nights at the hotel in early December and hotel is very centrally located to all major tourist attractions. Room was very clean, comfortable and was quiet. Staff were friendly and answered any questions we had regarding getting around Bucharest. We took the airport bus 100 from the airport to the hotel, approx 40 minutes and it was less than a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Metro station is very close so it's easy to move around Bucharest. Breakfast was excellent, great choice of hot food, cereals, pastries, fresh fruit tea, coffee and yogurt. We also ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent, big size portions. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Bucharest and would definitely go back when I visit the city again.
