I stayed in this hotel in Bucharest for work and it was truly a wonderful experience. The lobby is huge, decorated with colorful and classic furnishings that surprisingly go very well together. The hotel offers excellent services: there's a bar, a restaurant, a fully equipped gym that I used and really appreciated, and a spa area (which I didn’t get the chance to try). The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with plenty of thoughtful amenities—including a lovely selection of chocolates waiting for me at check-in. The bathroom was clean and came with a complimentary set of toiletries worthy of a 5-star hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic—especially the fresh juices and the wide variety of options available. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

I didn’t really enjoy the hotel restaurant. I found it a bit pricey, and the food I ordered wasn’t very good—everything felt quite dry and overcooked, despite the portions being extremely generous, maybe even too much. Additionally, the location is a bit far from the city center and other dining or entertainment options, which made it less convenient to go out in the evenings. Lastly, although the bathroom was very clean and well-stocked, it felt a bit bare and sterile compared to the character and richness of the bedroom.

I liked the room a lot, very clean and nice. Breakfast was amazing, wide variety of food, fresh fruit and coffee from local and international cuisine. Reception people are very nice and so are the restaurant and breakfast lounge people.

I wanted to use a debit card which I always used in the past and with which I made and paid for the reservation. I wanted to pay for two coffees at the bar and it didn't go through, the guy there even looked at me strangely and said it can't be done. I was able to withdraw cash form the ATM, but they didn't bother to tell me (the ones from the bar I mean). I was told by the man at the restaurant and there I was even able to pay with the same debit card.

The bed is very, very comfortable!! The hotel is big and clean, therefore I would recommend it. The lobby area is just great, breakfast amazing.

There was a note in the room stating that there's 24 hrs minibar - which is not true. (Attached the picture) The girl from the reception seemed very surprised when we called around midnight requesting a few bottles of water, saying that they don't offer that. We told her about the card in the room, and she said that those are old and should have been removed... So train your staff ... I truly think that the receptionist just didn't want to help :)

As per my previous stays, the breakfast was top notch and the room was cleaned well . The receptionist was also very friendly and helpful. And though the bathrooms are a little worn down, I can appreciate the refurbished rooms and refreshed furniture.

Sadly, it seems like the hotel has started to degrade in the past couple of years. Since my last visit in 2019 the main lobby and it's bathrooms haven't changed too much, and things have started to look a little worn down. The same thing can be said about the hotel's facade. Perhaps the area where this has become the most noticeable is the private bathrooms... since my first visit in 2016 they haven't changed at all save for the obvious wear and tear. This, coupled with the steep increase in price has definitely reduced the value for money of the hotel. I hope that these issues are going to be resolved sooner rather than later, as this hotel still holds a lot of potential and has been a mainstay of my trips to Bucharest in the past.

The Phoneica hotel is beautifully designed. It has a wonderful aroma and atmosphere when we walked in. The rooms were lovely and we were given a peronalised welcome note and treats, which was lovely. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, they provided immediate assistance to our enquiries. It is located closely to many local amenities. We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be booking The Phoenicia Hotel again on our next visit to Bucharest. We recommend booking this hotel.

The sauna was being renovated during our stay. There was no notification of this prior, however during the trip we did not have time to use it anyway, as we were busy sightseeing and visiting the city. It will be completed soon in 2 months before we plan to return. The other gym facilities are available and the hotel has a variety of great gym equipment to use, which was better than most. I have nothing negative to say. The hotel and experience was great!

It’s not my first stay in this hotel. As always, the room was clean, my flight was very early but the reception had packages prepared for travellers like me who are unable to have the magnificent breakfast - I appreciated it. I appreciate free water upon check in, toiletries, slippers. The shower is good and the bedding is of good quality. It was hard to sleep though even on the fourth floor due to loud music from downstairs. It stopped around 1:30am.

A great hotel - very upscale, good clean rooms - very comfortable bed. Very clean bathroom. The breakfast is superb - a huge buffet style breakfast with a bery large selection of various foods and drinks. Outstanding!

The only drawback of this hotel is its location. The location is not near the subway and is a good distance from the downtown/old town section of Bucharest. Uber drivers have a hard time finding the hotel.

I stayed at the hotel previously on a business trip and liked it. This time it was leisure for a night only. I had a car too so I knew what to expect. The hotel was nice both times, the breakfast very good with great variety of options. The bed nice, temperature in the room good too. Tram from outside can take you to the nearest metro and promenada mall, can use contactless card instead of ticket l, which was very convenient. Very easy to drive to the airport. Would definitely stay there if I have a car or want to be out of the centre. Herestrau park is ten minutes walk.

There is not much to do outside of the hotel, but I knew that.

Location was close to a venue I've attended, room was large, bed was large and comfortable, Wi-Fi was good, free parking on the premises was a big plus.

AC was a little bit noisy when running at full capacity and didn't really manage to face the heat outside. Bathroom was a little bit smelly.. At breakfast small insects were literally swarming all over the food, that was pretty disgusting for a four star hotel, I don't remember seeing something similar during my travels..

Breakfast was superb! Staff very friendly and helpful too. Ruxandra from Reservations is a STAR! Ruxandra organised my birthday trip. She is ever so patient, helpful and warm. Vlad, Alice, Marcel and all reception staff are helpful, friendly and accommodating. Saidoun Restaurant is fantastic. Therme Bucresti fabulous! I will come again.
