The staff. The room and view. The location.

The breakfasts were excellent, but why was the only fresh juice served orange juice? It is not difficult to freshly make all sorts of juices. The hotel kitchen needs to understand that tea has to be made with boiling water, not boiled water, not very hot water. The hot plate for cooking eggs was set at far too high a temperature to fry eggs without burnt edges and the only omelet I saw looked like a burnt offering. I felt that the job of cooking eggs each morning was given to the least skilled member of the kitchen staff. I could certainly have done it better myself.

Stayed here for two nights. The room and the property itself were beautiful and had great views of the surrounding landscape. Easy access to Palma, about 15 mins by taxi.

Unfortunately, we were let down by the service and hospitality. As a five star hotel, you understandably expect more from an establishment. We didn’t feel looked after and most interactions with the staff felt rushed or rude.

I stayed two nights at the Castillo Hotel Son Vida with four adult children and booked three rooms. We had a wonderful stay! We loved the location, the bedrooms, the sports facilities, the spa and the dining. Of particular note we would all say that the golf was fantastic and two of my Sons enjoyed the use of the tennis court at the sister hotel (The Sheraton) down the road. They walked once but there is an excellent small coach to transport guests to the various golf courses and facilities around the area. All of us really enjoyed a fun morning playing golf at the Pitch and Putt course. The bedrooms were fantastic with very comfortable beds, lovely balconies overlooking the grounds and gorgeous Byredo bathroom products (important to me as I always love this attention to detail). I requested that our rooms were next to each other, which was fulfilled, and we had breakfast included in the overnight rate. We all made use of the spa facilites; two of us had spa treatments which we both thought were excellent and definitely value for money and my Sons thought the sauna was one of the best. The pools are lovely and the service around the pool was very good. Of particular note I have to say that Luis (concierge service) was fantastic! He advised us on where to go regarding great beach clubs (we spent a very hot afternoon sunbathing and swimming in the sea at Illetes Beach), he sorted out a restaurant reservation for us one night in Palma (a fabulous restaurant called Barbar which we all highly recommend) and nothing was too much trouble. An amazing asset to this hotel. All in all we loved our stay and hope to return one day.

One very slight comment regarding where an improvement could be made is the restaurant and the food. We had a meal in the restaurant the night we arrived and unforunately the service was incredibly slow and we waited around 45 minutes plus between our starter and our main course. The food was good but not amazing.

My stay at Castillo Hotel Son Vida was nothing short of exceptional. From the warm, attentive staff to the stunning views and elegant room, every detail was perfect. The spa was incredibly relaxing and a true highlight of my visit. Having stayed at many top hotels worldwide, I can confidently say this one stands out for its authentic luxury and heartfelt hospitality. I look forward to returning!

Honestly, I enjoyed everything about my stay. There was nothing I could find to dislike

It was the most comfortable hotel bed ever! It is a quiet location and only a 10-minute Taxi ride into Palma. Beautiful room. Everything was sparkling clean. Excellent cleaning and turn-down service. The staff's warmth and friendliness were consistent and made the stay even more enjoyable. The food in all the restaurants was excellent. I especially liked the bar's outside dining option, where you can smoke, and the service was great.

There was a long wait for coffee at breakfast. It was not a problem as we had time, but management should look into improving the setup.

Beautiful quiet and peaceful location Views for days Good sized pool with loads of sun beds Good spa Good breakfast - fresh fruit, juices, eggs etc and some local delicacies like Majorcan olive oil, salt and honey were a treat - not to mention churros Super Comfortable beds and decent sized rooms with all the creature comforts one could need - we stayed on the 8th floor looking out over the main entrance with lovely views of the mountain.

There is nothing to dislike

Beautiful location. Excellent restaurants at the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. View from the room was amazing.

Lack of information in print about the hotel facilities, including maps of locations including the spa, gym, golf course, where most importantly where was safe to walk, bearing in mind, it was surrounded golfing players teeing off etc. Very often a long wait at breakfast as there was only one chef frying eggs, omelettes pancakes et cetera and this led to queues. Suggest they have two chefs doing that job.

The curtains needs blackout The air conditioning in room 626 was not cold although we informed them.

Great hotel, luxurious . Great facilities . Friendly staff but slow service at breakfast. Breakfast wasn’t 5* and I found the menus for lunch and dinner limiting.

Better breakfast and menus

Everything is very tastefully designed, despite being a large hotel you don’t have the feeling and it almost feels boutique, location in the castle and views over Palma are awesome, we played a lot of golf and the hotel was very supportive in getting tee times etc, golf courses close by are amazing, beds extremely comfortable, service very friendly and as professional as you would expect for a 5* hotel

Food (dinner) should go up a notch for a place like this and also the prices they are asking for
