This is an old Manor House, an ancestral home so if you are looking for all the mod cons a modern hotel offers you will not want to stay here. Having said that if you want an experience of an historic home, a haven of peace in the commercial area of St Malo this is it. Bed was comfortable, ,lovely clean laundered bedding and the shower in the room was good. Breakfast was very French with lots of cake and pastry, though cheese and eggs were available. We really enjoyed it for the 2 nights we stayed at the end of a 16 day Airbnb tour. There are spa facilities which we didn’t have time to use but we enjoyed a stroll in the garden.

The electric sockets in the room were loose and unreliable, a better shower cubicle wouldn’t go amiss, that said it’s an old house!

It was a very unusual experience. I've never been in a place like that before. It's a 17th-century manor that has been transformed into a boarding place, and it is a stunning property. It felt like going back in time. The garden was splendid, and we got to sleep in total silence and darkness, which we appreciated. No cars, no traffic, just the sound of birds when we woke up. We stayed in a duplex, and the room upstairs was furnished in Jules Vernes style, which was an absolute delight to my teenage children. We also had books in the room. Downstairs in the family room turned dining room, there were antique board games. I'm sorry that it was too cold to use the pool. Maybe next time.

There were no power outlets in the rooms. We had to unplug the lamps and the TV in order to recharge our phones. Other than that, no complaints from us.

The house is full of character, and the garden is beautiful. We even managed a swim in the heated pool. Breakfast by candlelight was lovely. Really enjoyed our evening meal picnics in the garden - we bought food and wine from the supermarket across the road, delicious. The garden is very private, secluded and spacious, so you’d never know there were any shops nearby, you could be anywhere. Convenient location for the ferry, or to use as a base for exploring.

Lovely old property good parking and so close to ferry terminal, was the perfect overnight stay to end our holiday before catching our ferry home. The house was beautiful outside and in and the gardens also. Breakfast was very good and set in a lovely room. Would definitely stay again and would make stay longer. Would definitely recommend.

Arrived and rang bell but was not herd. Perhaps a bell/monitor to host would be handy. Host was very friendly and attentive when fount. Would have liked some milk in room when we arrived but not a big issue. Room was very good and clean we loved it.

Really lovely old building with individual rooms and nice antiques. A beautiful garden and lovely pool which was very welcome on a hot day. location looks bad when you first arrive but the road noise is nil in the Manoir. Benoit was a welcoming host with good English and the breakfast was excellent, only very minor point is the bathroom which was a shower head on the tap and no hook on the wall, but it’s quite nice to sit in the tub showering for a change. All in all one of the best hotels we have stayed in for years.

shower was a bit basic

Very welcoming and helpful owner. Unique place, big rooms, lovely breakfast. Nice to have use of a sitting room in evenings. We didn't use spa facilities.

Bathroom had shower off taps, couldn't be hooked up high, and the bath was vey narrow and difficult to get into , so we didn't use shower at all . Other bathroom our friends had was better. Too far out of town to walk for an evening meal.

Room and comfort of the bed and bathroom and the swimming pool.

We had a very short time for breakfast which we found disappointing. It was fine if you want cake and sliced bread for breakfast. We were hoping for croissants or french bread. We didn’t like being woken up at 2.45 with people talking loudly outside our room. They continued despite us asking them to stop. They did eventually. I’m assuming the owners didn’t hear them.

The hotel and the grounds were so beautiful - I don’t know what I was expecting but I was blown away by how beautiful it was. Photos really don’t do it justice. I took a video of our lovely room but it won’t load for some reason. The host was so friendly and helpful - advising us of the best places to eat etc. Will definitely book again if in St Malo.

Bed was a little soft for us but thats because we are used to a hard mattress which I know is not everyone’s preference.

Very charming, very clean, very old. We liked it very much. It is like sleeping in a museum! Moments which you will not forget. The Host is very friendly and open and helpful. The garden around is like a garden from a fairy tail!

Very comfortable room and extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast very good indeed too.

No problems at all other than a defective mains socket at the side of the bed which accommodates one of the bedside lights. We forgot to tell the owner on leaving so please pass this on to them. They were very helpful and I am sure they will repair it if told.
