Almost everything, the location, the venue, the ambience, the locals and the food were delightful. Witnessing me at my finest discussing the potholes of life with the Village Inebriant was a moment of beauty.
Whoever thought of putting speakers in the restaurant ceiling, which is also the bedroom floors ... was an idiot. The restaurant closes at 8.00pm ... the God awful playlist didn't. I didn't pay £159 a night to sit in my room listening to an empty room bang out mindless modern pop for the next 2.5 hours. That said ... I was sat in an exceptionally lovely room. Would we return? Absolutely!!

Location and room although a make-up mirror would be good.
Although we had booked dinner for each night of our 3 night stay, one night they had sold out of both things we ordered. There was not a very wide choice and as we had eaten there the previous night, there was nothing left we wanted except what we had eaten the previous night. Consequently, we were forced to drive elsewhere to eat. It was quite late by that time, but we were fortunate that another pub in a nearby village stayed open longer so they could accommodate us and another couple. Also, although we were staying there and had booked in advance for the length of our stay, we were not prioritised re seating and given any table left after non-hotel guests had chosen the best tables..

EVERYTHING! This was my third over-all visit and my second time in the "Queens room! The room is wonderful, ESPECIALLY the delicious claw-foot tub in the middle. The bed is comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is great. Because the room is away from the pub, it was wonderfully quiet, with a lovely view. Breakfast came with the room and was yummy AND filling. The staff this time went above and beyond. Falkland and the various stores in the area are just lovely.
It was a little pricey for the time of year, but I had such a great time, I didn't care!

Fantastic stay. Room was lovely, staff went above and beyond and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Will definitely stay yearly as we got engaged in The Covenater. There was a problem with the heating/hot water on arrival but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating and the problem was fixed ASAP. We had dinner in the restaurant and the lasagne was the best I have had anywhere. When staff found out we had gotten engaged they laid on prosseco and congratulated us. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location.
We stayed in one of the 2 new rooms which aren't in the main entrance of the hotel. The door that leads to the 2 rooms which is on the street and has outside tables for people drinking outside beside it isn't locked and myself and my fiancée would just have felt a bit more safer if there was a lock to that door.

Perfect location, comfortable bed, good sized room and bathroom. Cute little bar at the hotel which is open till late, very ideal given that there are none other bars in the area where you can go for a drink or two! Also very good breakfast and very kind staff.
The only thing is that there are 1 flight of stairs up the room with no elevator. However, given that this is a small b&b this was expected and the staff offered their help with our luggages which was very kind. So i'd still give it a solid 9/10!

The Covenanter Hotel is so quaint and right in the center of town. We stayed in the Queen room and it was super clean and seemed newly updated as the bathroom was fairly new. We were right across from the Falkland Palace and there are a few places to get breakfast and lunch near by. We also had a great dinner and breakfast at the hotel.
We could hear the music (not super loud) from the bar and restaurant down stairs but it closed around 10 so we were able to sleep.

Beautiful old property. Good selection in the bar. Breakfast was great. Staff were just lovely.
We stayed in Bruce for two nights, the room was lovely but we felt it was just a bit overpriced for what we got. The bathroom would benefit from a couple of hooks behind the bathroom door to hang towels. However, the main issue is that at night even after the bar has closed music still continues to be played and it can be heard in the room. We were unable to watch BBC during our stay as there was no satellite signal in our room.

The hotel was excellent and exceeded our expectations. A gorgeous room and very friendly staff. The food was superb also. The location was brilliant and right in the heart of the village. We stayed in the Queens room which also included a roll top slipper bath in the room which I loved. Sky tv with full package of sports and movies as a great additional touch. The bar in the hotel is a lovely small friendly bar and the separate restaurant was also brilliant. I know I have said the word brilliant a lot but this is the word to sum up this hotel.
There was nothing that I didn’t like about the hotel. It was brilliant in every way.

Great room. Comfy bed. Nice restaurant. Tasty breakfast. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, they made you feel welcome. A huge plus is the location, especially for Outlander fans, but the Palace in parts has been beautifully restored with tour guides to give you the history and answer questions. They were all very knowledgeable. The grounds are also worth a look.
It's a little on the expensive side, but I came a long way for the experience, so I was happy to pay it.

The room was clean and had a view of the main street/Palace. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a good hot shower. The restaurant was good. We had a lovely dinner, excellent wine and a great Scottish breakfast the next morning. And the bar was a nice place to spend the evening too.
Falkland is a lovely little place. Nice to walk around in and lovely people. And I'd definitely recommend The Covenanter. It's Just a shame that The Covenanter was the only evening meal option/ bar open on the Friday night we stayed in Falkland
