Hyatt Hotel Canberra is about to celebrate its opening centennial anniversary in 2024. You can feel the sophistication and romanticism of past times while enjoying the contemporary comforts of a perfectly managed hotel accommodation. Staff were exceptional in attending to and accommodating our requirements. Comfy rooms although the beds were a tad too soft for our taste. Easy parking, great location too. We stayed for Christmas and we couldn't be happier.

A classic luxury hotel, with beautiful gardens and all the facilities you'd expect in the rooms and around the hotel. The customer service is exceptional, and there's a lovely lobby lounge area leading to garden seating areas, where you can have coffee, formal afternoon tea, dinner or enjoy drinks. We ended up having several meals in the hotel, including room service, because lounge area was so confortable, and the food and service was so good.

The bathrooms are big and very luxurious, but just slightly dated. The secure parking at $30/day seemed pricey, but we chose to use it and were glad that we did, despite the pretty tight turn at the entrance.

Speakers Corner Bar was cosy, stylish, quiet and fabulous for a pre-dinner drink. The bar staff were 10/10. The ambience of the building is relaxed, stylish, comfortable. At no time was it overly formal. The staff at every level, from cleaners to restaurant manager, reception etc, were very friendly, attentive, and appeared to be enjoying their work and us as guests. Our room was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom top notch.

Breakfast on Sunday morning was a bit of a scrumdown with lots of people and children wandering around with toast and bacon looking for something else, but not so bad as to be unpleasant. The breakfast fare on offer was great!

I have been visiting this hotel on and off for over 20 years - it is an institution in Canberra. It has clean, comfortable rooms, an excellent breakfast, accomodating polite staff, well equipped bathrooms with excellent bath, shower and amenities, and a great location.

Only things I could fault with it would be 1) lack of hotel map for visitors showing where room is and in relation to front desk, official car pack, car park and back and health centre 2) pillowcases while they look like good quality cotton, were scratchy feeling on the face - one expects a little more from a hotel of this quality. Otherwise it was a perfect stay.

Classic large comfortable room with separate shower and bath. Very comfortable. This hotel is suitable for anyone needing to work in their hotel room for chunks of that day, with proper desk, well stocked mini-bar, larger sized gym. Food & beverages all good and majority of staff very helpful, professional and friendly. Had parking if you are driving from Sydney etc.

No complaints, but location is slightly isolated from "town centre" and other food and drink options, given it is located near Parliament House etc. But with the isolation comes the scale and size, which compensates... and the journey into "town" is quick.

We like the comfort and old world charm and gym facilities. We liked the bed and the fact the room was pitch black when sleeping.

We did not like that fact that you had no Canberra wines on your wine list while we were there. We thought the chocolates in the bar fridge were very pedestrian for a hotel of your quality. We thought paying more attention to local ingredients and producers would have made it all a bit more special, otherwise could have been anywhere. We'd like you to think of an alternative to plastic water bottles by the bedside.

The property is a converted jail and it still has those vibes although tastefully converted into a nice hotel.

Unless you want to pay $30 a night for parking you have to park in the street and there is metered parking after a certain time. Pillows were uncomfortable and the aircon in all three rooms was not working properly. Signage from the rear of the hotel to the reception was non-existent. Breakfast was ok, but we expected better as we found some of the fruit was old and tasteless and they didn’t top up the empty dishes on display unless prompted.

We had a good sized room and a very nice bathroom. The shower was probably one of the best we'd experienced, and the toiletries were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our food in the Tea Lounge was very good. We overall had a pleasant stay.

We marked the hotel down for a few things that didn't go well. The bed was very soft for us, and both had aches and pains the next day. The tea cups were so tiny in the room, 2 sips and you were done. Driving up to the entrance to check in was a little chaotic. In the Tea Lounge at dinner, we had a few things go wrong with the service, which was disappointing.

Check-in poorly handled initially. Without any explanation re our room location or direction my wife and I were allocated a room inaccessible by lift, and only accessible via a steep set of stairs. This was simply unacceptable, especially for people with luggage and with some mobility limitations (as we had). A helpful staff member who encountered us in a hotel corridor recognised our difficulty and helpfully assisted us in being relocated to another room. This was done promptly.

The rooms are lovely, the location is great. Parking is good. The front rooms are easy to access for persons with mobility issues. The hotel is pet free with rooms that have opening windows and the cleanliness is generally very good.

My coworkers and I regularly stay at this hotel and I generally make the bookings. I don't always allocate the rooms to names. Unfortunately the person on reception cancelled the booking in front of my guests (they had just arrived) because their names were not on the booking. This meant that my boss got a room that was not as clean or nice as expected. Really awkward and stressful.
