This is a lovely property. We enjoyed our 3 Nights that we stayed there. A couple of things to remember: 1) We chose Meru View and we liked it. I wish we were staying on higher floor. That said, the room was spacious, well equipped and staff was fantastically helpful. 2) We signed up for Half-board. That entitles one to breakfast and dinner in the Buffet restaurant only. If you even wanted to try other restaurants, that would be out of pocket. That said, the Buffet served good food and each day had a different cuisine theme, so it didn't get as repetitive. If we were to visit Arusha, we would definitely consider staying here again

From the hotel lobby till the magnificent gardens and the superb gym, everything is gorgeous and so well curated the Gran Melia! We also enjoyed a drink by the pool bar, and buffet dinner which was good. We were also happy to walk around the lush gardens and discover the workshops at the end, were people with disability are crafting pieces of furniture, glasses, etc. We will have to come back to enjoy the pool with a warmer weather; it looks splendid.

The rooftop was privatized exceptionally - which happens in hotels of course - sadly for us it meant we didn't get to enjoy the view from there

The views of the coffee garden and Mt Meru are breathtakingly beautiful. Worth booking a mountain view room for. Beds are clean and comfortable however the attention to detail while cleaning the room and replacing essentials was lacking. Staff are courteous and food is delicious. On the whole I would recommend it and return.

The payment options are limited. They only take USD or TSh. The carpets in the common areas were a bit grubby, as were the sofas at the lobby. This doesn't give a good first impression

The staff were exceptional and service terrific. When we arrived in JRO/ Arusha, our luggage did not arrive with us and Kenyan Airways and Precision Air were next to useless in trying to fix their fault. The Gran Melia’s staff stepped in, calling the airlines frequently and helping enormously in ensuring our luggage was finally located and arrived with us at the hotel. All staff were great but a particular shout-out to Pricila here, who was instrumental in resolving our situation and went above and beyond to assist, plus Boniface, whose empathy and general support was notable. We were enormously grateful to have chosen such a good hotel to stay at, as this sort of service and help was invaluable. In general, the hotel is high quality, with top facilities and rooms, plus very good food in the various restaurants. Also quite a fan of their coffee plantation on site and the cafe serving their produce…

We arrived at the property around 8pm, after an adventurous day. We were tired from the driving and cold from the dip in Chema Hot Springs. What we liked about the property was its smooth service. From the moment we drove into the gates, we felt a luxurious warm welcome. The check-in process was smooth and quick, which was very important to us at the time. Other little details to note were, extremely comfortable bathrobes and a delicious breakfast spread. We stayed 2 nights and we had a full itinerary so we may not have had the chance to enjoy all of the hotels amenities but we will definitely be visiting again! The cherry on top at the Gran Melia Arusha, is their view! I mean, we spent a lot of time on the balcony despite the low temperatures. I would look forward to the morning light, simply for the views!

It was expensive of course, and booking during off-peak seasons would be ideal.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The views were amazing! The facilities were top notch. Food was delicious and of variety. Rooms were clean with amenities

The lights in the rooms. They could do with ambient lights in the bedroom area. Too bright. The air conditioner and lights were not easy to operate.

Wish they would prioritize guests when it comes to the parking, we struggled a bit with that, it was eventually sorted.☺️

The property has beautiful gardens, organic farm which grows coffee , avocado and vegetables. They have their own bee hives and poultry farm. The landscape, water stream and swimming pool with Mt Meru in the backdrop are impressive. The staff is very efficient and courteous.

Amazing hotel the staff are all so warm and friendly always smiling fantastic hospitality. The pool was lovely and the sanna project is incredible hand made crafts set up to support locals many of whom have disabilities and struggle to find work. Super cafe attached to sanna project would love to come back here one day

We loved the staff, as well as the overall style of the property. Our room was beautiful, with an amazing view of Mount Meru. We also thought the Red Level lounge area was a really nice addition to the experience. Prior to our arrival the communication with the hotel was also terrific.

We were not all that impressed with food. We had dinner at The Rooftop and The Grill and didn’t find either to be amazing. The Grill didn’t have my first choice (pork belly) or my second choice (lamb shank), so I ended up ordering the beef ribs and thought they were too small for the price and just ok tasting. The Rooftop items that we had were actually pretty good, but we were disappointed there wasn’t more locally inspired food on either menu. Also, we arrived at the breakfast buffet at 0930 and it was clear that most of the items had been sitting there much longer than is ideal, with some items being quite cold and others being quite dry or overdone. We also thought the bed was very hard which didn’t suit our personal taste, but we acknowledge that some will really like it.
