We loved this place. Spacious and clean with attention to details. I liked the suite that we were given and although the property is both central and close to the beach windows and balcony doors are made that way that you can't hear anything outside. We tried sleeping with the open balcony doors but we were woken up by car activities on the street. That is however no ones fault, we closed the doors and problem was solved. The property is very charming, clean, calm and quiet and I liked the type of guests that were there. Mostly, older couples and sometime a family with small children. I liked the breakfast very much and they were very attentive as I mentioned to them that I am lactose and gluten intolerant but I manage my way around, they had gluten bread, lactose free milk and lactose free yoghurt ready for me every morning. My partner particularly liked the way the food was arranged and most importantly how it tasted. All staff were very nice and pleasant.

We had a late check out and we left the bags to be stored. We wished that we had known that we could also take a shower in the part of the hotel as we had a very late flight and we would have stayed that day on the beach as well. However, this is not something that impacted our stay greatly as we had other plans. This is more like a suggestion to advise late checking out guests about it so that they know about that option beforehand. Other than that everything was perfect and we will definitely come back.

Renovated old apartments in a very convenient location situation about ten mins walk from the old city and just down the road from the beach. The reception staff were general friendly and helpful. The place is clean and the showers were really nice.

The cleaning staff were lovely but seemed a little disorganised. They were still cleaning the room after we were given the keys and left it too late the next day to clean the room again. Maybe they were simply a bit overworked (it was peak tourist season).

We really loved this place! The room was spacious and nicely designed. The location is perfect, central, but not too busy or too close to the bars (noise-wise). The breakfast was really good and diverse. The staff was so nice and helpful :) We had fun talking to every one of them we met. The parking is small but they always had a solution for us, even when it was full. The swimming pool is not that large but its really nice and wasn't too busy even though we were there at high season. The reception is open 24 hours a day which was really good for us when we arrived at midnight.

For us, the mattress was a bit too soft, but we can't really say that it was of poor quality. It seemed that perhaps people in the rooms on the third floor (where the pool is), could suffer from noise from the pool... This wasn't the case for us, but might be relevant for others.

The staff was exceptional - smiling, polite and friendly. The room was great - large and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous - a huge variety and set out very nicely. The location was very good - a quiet neighborhood, and a short 4 minute walk to the old city. They also have a small free parking lot for the guests.

Everything was great

Centrally placed and within easy walking distance of the seafront, harbour and old city centre. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable suite with a very well equipped mini kitchen. Surprisingly quiet for being in the city centre. Efficient check-in and helpful staff. Lovely rooftop pool if you need a soak and relax!

Be prepared to spend a little time waiting for, or finding, a parking space. We arrived in the middle of the afternoon and it took a few laps of the surrounding streets until we were lucky enough to get a parking space within 50m of the suites.

The staff at Ionia were all absolutely wonderful. They were all very keen to help and on one day we had an early morning departure, they arranged for an early breakfast for us without us even asking! The hotel was incredibly clean and the pool. whilst small was lovely to have considering the central location of the hotel. The breakfast was lovely with a lot of choice and the lady who was there was so kind.

This small hotel is strategically located close to the city center, it has private free parking and a small but cozy rooftop pool. We stayed in a family room, it was large and with all the amenities (also a kitchenette), AC, rolling blinds and two small balconies with chair's and tables. The breakfast was delicius, plenty of choice and with a lot of local products. The staff is always kind and available for any request/information. We will definitely came back!

Nothing, everything was perfect

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Its prime location right in the heart of the city center made my visit truly special. Being so close to all the city's major attractions and sightseeing spots was incredibly convenient. I could easily explore the city without the hassle of long commutes or transportation woes.

Elegant and spacious room, very friendly staff. Good bed with great bedding. Good location near beach and old town. Private parking (though small). Nice breakfast.

Our airco was very noisy, like water running/bubbling. No (news)channels in English language on tv. Some of the powerpoints next to bed were not connected, so our phones did not charge.

I stayed with my family at this beautiful hotel. The Family suite was very spacious and comfortable with all amenities. The location of the hotel is perfect, just 5-10 minutes far from the old town. All staff members were very polite and helpful. There was also a kid's corner with nice toys. Our baby had a great time there. We will definitely come back if we visit Rethymno again in the future!
