Welcoming and communicative host. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean. Proximity to the harbour, across the road, and the east facing aspect from where we savoured a glorious Sunday morning sunrise. Location outstanding in terms of proximity to Mangonui Fish Shop, Coopers Beach and other nearby scenic spots, including Cable Bay and Rangiputa.

Perhaps a bathroom heater would be an added benefit.

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Oak. The building itself is gorgeous, a well preserved slice of Mangonui history. We were warmly welcomed on arrival by our hosts. The property exceeded our expectations, the room was beautifully decorated, clean and warm, with a super comfy bed. The property is a short stroll along the boardwalk to some great eateries in Mangonui. Such a lovely romantic place to stay. Highly recommended. We will be back!

The Hotel was in a great location overlooking the harbour. Easy walk to shops and places to eat. A number of local walks too. Our room was on the ground gloor with a deck area and access to a very relaxing garden. Well appointed facilities in an historic building. Justin and Jennifer were great hosts and made our group feel very welcome.

Well located on a quiet stretch of Doubtless Bay. Serene view on the board walk around the water. A classic historic boutique hotel with very comfortable bed. Jennifer and Justin are very friendly, warm and hospitable host.

Nothing negative really. Booked it well aware it is an old property with minimal facilities and a dated building requiring higher cost for maintenance.

Room was lovely, spacious bathroom. Very nice amenities (excellent coffee with fresh milk, lots of tea choices). Bath lotions and shampoos top quality. Jennifer and Justin were friendly, helpful and professional. Great location on the water, short pleasant stroll along the boardwalk to shops and restaurants.

Minor detail but as an old historic property, walls between rooms are thin and voices carry. To be fair, the owners note this on information in the room.

We had an incredible stay at the Old Oak! Jennifer and Justin have created a charming haven that truly felt like a home away from home. The decor is thoughtfully curated, and we couldn't help but appreciate the cozy atmosphere. The warmth and hospitality extended by the owners made our mini-break unforgettable. It was the perfect escape for us as a couple, and we are genuinely grateful for the wonderful experience. Five stars all the way!

The Old Oak is a special place. Beautiful room, comfy bed, super location with the harbour views and walking distance to great eateries. Our hosts Justin and Jennifer were superb. They happily shared their local knowledge, made sure we had all we needed and genuinely cared about our experience.

There was nothing we didn't like. We plan to return!

Lovely quaint historical place to stay. Rooms are a good size and on a cold night - lovely and warm. Best bed I have slept in - so comfortable. Wonderful outlook and short walk to cafe and restaurants. Bonus having "real" milk in the fridge too.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, in a fantastic location, on the waterfront and a moment’s stroll from the shops, restaurants and cafes of lovely Mangonui. We loved our big, comfortable room and all the thoughtful touches. A perfect place to stay.

We had a lovely large room opening out to the Garden. The building is charming and very well positioned to the viallge. Our hosts were delightful and very helpful.

The Old Oak is very expensive. However it was a treat for us as it was my birthday. Given that the venue is unique, quiet and well appointed, we were not disappointed.
