I booked specifically for the beach side view and it was great to see the Itsukushima Shrine Otorii Gate at night and in the morning from our view. No regrets! We also had a great bathroom equipped with a great tub with a water jet. It was great after a long day walking to just soak and relax in a wide tub.

The listing has full transparency and as it mentioned dinner is additional cost and you need to inform them ahead of time. The island's restaurants and stores closes pretty early so just be mindful of you and family needs to order ahead of time or eat early before everything closes up.

The view from our room was amazing. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was welcoming and my three children loved the way we were served tea on our arrival and the yukatas that were just their size. My son has several food allergies and they were able to accommodate him for dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent and abundant and my kids loved the kids meals while I enjoy the traditional Japanese meals. The private bath was a lovely treat after a climb on Mt Misen. The futons were comfy and the room was spacious and it was so nice to return to our room after dinner and have our futons ready. .The luggage pickup from the ferry terminal and the shuttle ride back at the end of our stay were so helpful! It was a splurge but well worth it!

The property is nestled at the edge of the main town on Miyajima and has great views. The food was very good, with fresh catch from right off the island, and they have options for Western breakfasts to suit Western palates. Each room gets private bath time in addition to public baths being available, and they were lovely to relax in. I was most impressed by the staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful, and who went above and beyond to help after my dad took a very nasty fall hiking in the mountains on the island.

The only thing that we did not like as much was the futon mattresses. They were quite thin and felt a bit old, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable as we were almost directly on the tatami.

Highly recommend if you want to experience a ryokan stay. Customer service is incredibly amazing, they drove us to from the Miyajima ferry terminal, they helped us carry our luggages in and they even helped us to clean the luggages with wet wipes while we were checking in. They also gave us a mini room tour with welcome drink/snack. The view was incredible with a clear ceiling to floor glass window. Complimentary slippers/pyjamas/yukata/cleansing oil/shaving cream/shaver/toothbrush&toothpaste/conditioner. The futon bed is very comfortable but the blanket is a little thick. We also purchased the half board option with dinner and breakfast. The meal preparation is very meticulous and a lot of thought and effort is being made into the appearance of the dishes. We had a meal while enjoying the sunset view of the Torii gates which is amazing. The dinner was ten courses and the portion is just right such that it doesn’t make you overly full or remain hungry.

The private onsen is limited to only half and hour making the whole experience a bit rushed. It feels more like an outdoor hot tub rather an onsen. It is also a little bit pricy.

The front desk staff were extremely accommodating and picked up our luggage from the storage locker at the ferry terminal and also took care of forwarding our luggage onward to our next hotel. The room itself was very spacious for a Japanese style room and featured a fantastic view overlooking the famous floating torii and pier. We opted for dinner on-site, which was around 8 courses with local delicacies (our group didn't like oysters, but they were able to substitute a delicious sukiyaki course) served in the communal dining room. The town shuts down very early, when most day trippers leave, so it was good not to have to worry about finding dinner.

Only staying one night, we didn't have enough time to hike Mt. Misen and get back in time to visit the private onsen on-site (times need to be reserved in advance), so we missed out there.

The location was wonderful! The view my friends and I had from our room was stunning, and the room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and poured us tea when we arrived. During the day, it was an open, living room like space; in the evening, staff came and set out the futons for us. Definitely make sure to snag a time with the private, open-air bath - that was also lovely! That being said, the in-room bathroom was also state-of-the-art. Really a stunning place to stay!! I'd love to come and stay longer some day. :)

The hotel is above the town, so free from disturbances. Close enough to town to enjoy what Miyajima has to offer. Stayed half board - dinner and breakfast both fantastic. Breakfast - western and Japanese options available. Large room, with huge windows. Futon beds on the floor - very comfy and set up whilst having dinner. Stocked minibar - reasonable prices. Didn't use it, but free transfers from/to the ferry terminal are available. Indoor footwear available. Onsens available - check out onsen etiquette before you go!

Can't do anything about it, but it's up a hill! Otherwise, nothing to worry about.

The staff at Jukeiso went above and beyond to help us. We arrived on the island about 10 minutes before check-in stopped We’d never been so we figured we’d just call a taxi. That wasn’t going to happen. We called and they sent their driver to pick us up last minute. They took all of our luggage up, they helped us make a last minute reservation at one of the only open restaurants on the island and then hand drew directions to the restaurant on a map for us. They allowed us to make a last minute breakfast reservation and then they delivered our bags to the ferry station the next day. All that to say, we were clueless foreigners who weren’t really prepared for a night on Miyajima island, and they saved our asses. 10/10

Nice traditional ryokan on a hillside overlooking the floating Torii and shrine. All the staff are helpful. Breakfast and dinner are beautifully presented. The public baths are not crowded and the private onsen one can reserve is outstanding with gorgeous views. Out driver who picked us up and drove us back ti the ferry terminal was great!!

Ryokan is a little distance from the ferry terminal. The ryokan does offer free pickups and drop-offs but we had to call upon arrival to arrange. when we called, we had a little difficulty communicating with the receptionist who speaks limited English. After some back and forth they put a gentleman on who was able to clearly convey the meeting point to meet our driver. Reserving the dropoff was easy!

Divine Customer Service. Despite of the fact that we arrived so close to the pick-up deadline from the ferry terminal to the ryokan, they still sent someone over to pick us up. Everyone was so nice and treated so well despite the language barrier. Everyone was so well accomodating. They deliverered our belongings to our room. The sea view from the room was amazing! The hot springs was so heavenly! We felt like that we could live life without regrets. Except for fact that we wish that we would stay for more nights and get the meal courses. Our room was huge, has a great traditional theme, We are definitely going to come back to enjoy our next stay in Miyajima!
