Nice location right outside of Charlevoix. Not downtown or within walking distance, but a short 5 minute drive. The staff were great - friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and had a nice variety for a hotel breakfast. No fresh fruit but did offer several hot options along with the cold. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The kids enjoyed the pool and there was plenty of places to sit and chat around the hotel. We would stay here again.

Healthier breakfast options, like fresh fruit or alternative milk options (like oat milk). The lack of an elevator for the 2nd floor was odd.

It was a bit outside of the downtown area, so less congested. We stayed there in order to get a good rest before traveling home The concierge was knowledgeable about dining opportunities close to the Inn. Breakfast was generous and delicious

It was hard to see it from the highway. Please consider updating your picture on the website as the hotel exterior has been painted a dark charcoal color.

I thought the location would be closer to the town on Charlevoix. However, the location did not matter. We were only minutes from Charlevoix and enjoyed the area where Ernest Hemingway stayed in Horton Beach.

We go to sleep early. A family settled in nearby and we were surprised to hear them talking quietly either in their room or outside the window. It was not a big deal and we did not mind. Our biggest problem was the soft foam mattress It was not comfortable...esp. for people who toss and turn.

Great continental breakfast (you can always woo me with a waffle maker), cozy decor with a homey atmosphere, good coffee!

Could use more accessible garbage cans for the rooms. At the very least, more than one tiny can would be nice! Speaking of garbage, did NOT care for the partisan political channel on during breakfast… Not the best way to start the day. =\

Friendly staff, pretty decorated lobby, good breakfast, close to town, quiet. Would stay again.

Hard to find. It was very dark, the lighting for the big hotel sign off the highway was broken. We passed it then realized we missed it cause we were looking for a big sign and the building faces in a direction where you can't tell it's a hotel. Once you find it, you have to zig zag thru a church parking lot entrance with poor lighting to get to the hotel (tiny sign for the hotel with arrow here.) No entrance from the highway in front of the hotel, just a bike path. When I mentioned it, the front desk gal said sorry and said that the light had been out for awhile and someone had actually driven down the bike path thinking it was the entrance.... Seems like better signage would be an easy fix.

Clean, staff friendly, helpful, like old friends.

Bed way too soft & too high. Every time one of us moved, the other person felt the entire mattress move. I'm 5' and it was almost impossible for me to sit on the edge to swing my legs up. The mattress dipped alarmingly low & I could feel myself rolling off, nothing to hold onto.

Excellent location, centrally located for where we wanted to visit. Very clean and the breakfast and the lady attendant was awesome

Our only complaints would be that the mattress and pillows need to be upgraded. The springs were quite squeaky and not very supportive in the mattress and all of the pillows were quite flat

I was warmly greeted at the reservation desk, check-in and check-out were quick and professional, and the accommodations were top notch. I especially enjoyed the extra effort AmericInn makes to accommodate guests who travel with pets. My room was pet-friendly and showed no signs of previous pets being in the room. Likewise, I tried to be a responsible pet owner. AmericInn goes the extra mile to make their guests welcome. This was my second visit to this AmericInn, and it won't be my last.

If I'm going to be ultra critical, the signage to the facility could be more obvious, but I found the motel with little effort.

Our bed was very comfortable. We can't stand it when hotels or rentals use FIRM mattresses that hurt your back, why not just sleep on the floor??? This hotel was just what we needed for the night. Very quiet without poorly raised children running the halls all night! Our dog who was allowed is better than that!

There really wasn't a particular thing I didn't like.

That is, was pet friendly, and they had adequate outdoor space for dogs to relieve themselves. They even have a nice walking trail right in front of the hotel that i was able to take them for walks. And they provided bags to clean up after them. I always take mine, but its nice when they provide this. So, others see it and pick up after their pets. I've stayed at "pet friendly" hotels before, and they had no areas for the dogs. It is an older hotel, but they have kept it very clean. I even decided to extend my trip one more day.
