This is a charming old inn that is just a half block from Little Traverse Bay. The room was spacious and nice with a balcony porch with a view of the grounds, pool, and a glimpse of Traverse Bay. A fire in the fireplace in the living room / entry was welcoming. The full breakfast was good. I did shorten my stay by a day (weather) and they were very accommodating.

It is a hundred plus years old inn and the exterior could use a little TLC. There is no elevator, they will provide help with the luggage, but it was a bit of a workout climbing the stairs.

An older couple that stayed at the same time would not clean up after themselves. It very clearly stated to please clean up the kitchen after each use. They would not so we just didn't use the kitchen.

It was great. We had stayed a few years ago and had improved appearance. Hotel even with the busy weekend was very quiet. We are up in years and the girl at the desk help us carry up my husband’s bag. We loved the mattress. .

I didn’t know how to freeze my ice pack. But I didn’t ask. Coming back to the hotel after nine on Thursday night. It was hard to find a parking spot but it was the holiday.

Beautifully updated lobby and porch. Wonderful full breakfast with many options. My room in west wing was spacious with comfortable bed, large bathroom area. Nice patio. Grabbed a coffee and took the short stroll down to the water each morning. There is a dedicated dock that guests can walk out on. Overall a fantastic lodging option in Harbor Springs.

The price seems a bit high per night but given the full breakfast and great location I figure that should be factored in.

Will definitely come back. Fabulous employees, charming facility inside and out. Delicious breakfast in adorable dining space. We loved the location and picturesque village.

No fault of hotel but we were in a corner room with rather tight space. Lighting in bathroom could use an extra can light in the shower.

Just a very enjoyable experience. The staff is very friendly and the location is top notch. Throw in a nice room and a good breakfast every morning and you have a very good experience. Will definitely book again if we are in the area.

Within walking distance to restaurants and shops in harbor springs. Has very nice breakfast that is included with the stay. The hotel itself is interesting and beautiful inside. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. It has a jacuzzi that is open until 9 pm.

Everything was great! The room was very clean and cozy. The bathroom area is very large. Just a comfort and pleasant place to stay. The breakfast is wonderful, the front porch even better. Brandi was great also. We can't wait to plan our next visit!

Very thin walls

Location was perfect nestled in a beautiful neighbourhood of Harbour Springs. We loved the morning breakfast and the historic charm of the Colonial Inn.

Friendly staff. Convenient location. You can walk down to the water as the property has its own dock.

Booked a couple days prior to arrival and requested an upper floor room. Never received a response from the hotel and we were given a ground-level room. I would expect to receive a response regardless if that room-type is available or not. We travel frequently and I always receive a response from other properties. Breakfast was cold - fruit was frozen. Staff did offer a microwave to heat up eggs, etc., as they were aware of the issue. Otherwise, probably would have been a good breakfast. Hot tub was available but not ‘hot’. We will consider choosing another location to stay next time.
