The breakfast was good a choice of cereals, toast, pancakes , croissants and fruit. Also tea and coffee choices, and fruit juice choices. Hot items such as eggs and bacon can be purchased and are fresh cooked to order, these are reasonably priced. My room was very comfortable, the bed was really nice , the bedding quilt and pillows were good quality and helped me to have a comfortable sleep. The en-suite bathroom with shower was fine, hot water and plenty of whilte fluffy towels. The staff are exceptional, really helpful and kind. Check in was easy , quick and very straightforward, tea and coffee , kettle, mugs and TV - all very good.

There was only one minor thing which was the lack of a bedside light in my room, which meant I was unable to read at bedtime. I noticed from photos of other rooms that they had lamps. There is probably a reason , but can’t think what it might be. I’d also like to have a small fridge, if possible?

Absolutely spotlessly clean Warm friendly staff. Honestly this wee hotel is spot on, weird AF, but I don't think I've seen a cleaner room anywhere. 2 mins walk from the station, right in the middle of town, 1 min from the water and next to the theatre. It's by no means luxurious but the bed is comfy, loads of tea and coffee, absolutely lovely staff, really helpful. It's so reasonably priced you can overlook the 1980s decor as you sleep there, nothing else. The brekkie options are great. You could eat your dinner off the bathroom, it's that clean. My new regular spot when I'm up.

All great, decor needs updating but I want to sleep there, not move in so it's irrelevant.

The location was ideal for what we were doing in Greenock. The staff were really good and helpful. Continental breakfast met our needs and had a good variety of stuff. Bed was comfortable. Shower over the bath was very good. It was good value for money and we were happy enough with our two nights stay. Easy, free parking was great.

Old building and some electric sockets were in a strange place, however, this would be nit picking because it did not affect our stay because the hotel had done their best.

We had to wait until 2200hrs to retire to bed General appearance in bedroom, Rm 14 & dining area, was it was not quite finished, rustic. Needs a hairdryer in the room. No private parking as advertised on Booking.com

Lovely building in a central position not far from the Greenock Central Railway Station - approx 5 mins walk. Very close to the waterfront and amenities of town. All the staff we met were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The price we paid was great value for money and included a good continental breakfast with a great choice of coffee. Cooked options were also available at an extra cost. The room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend

The staff were amazing, so warm and friendly. Being able to bring my pup with me was a real bonus. Breakfast options were fantastic too. Side door access for out of hours entrance.

The rooms are a little tired but impeccably clean and well presented. The bar downstairs had a brilliant band in on Saturday night worth a listen but might be an idea to bring earplugs if you plan on sleeping before 10.30pm when they stop playing.

The Continental breakfast offered a good choice of food and drinks, even offering oat milk for those of us with dairy intolerances!! The room was fine with a large, comfortable bed. The decor throughout the hotel was clean and fresh. The hotel is by the waterfront and close to the town centre, handy for shops and supermarkets.

Whilst the hotel was obviously a little old it was well looked after. The room was lovely and the bar was comfortable. Breakfast was basic but we knew about that beforehand and it was perfectly adequate. The night porter / barman was really friendly. He was chatty without being overbearing and certainly knew plenty about the local area. The breakfast staff were also friendly and helpful.

The Gin House is a cheap and cheerful b&b hotel it more than met my expectations at it's price point. It is situated in a great location at the side of a lovely square planted with flowers and between the high street and the riverbank. There was entertainment in the bar on Saturday night, a theatre across the road. Also a Witherspoons plus some restaurants are just a couple of minutes walk away. The staff were very helpful and friendly, I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel overall was good enough, and the staff were very nice. The room was clean. There was a lovely wee social club downstairs where there was a live jam and that was lots of fun.

There was no wifi code and sadly, the breakfast was not much at all- very basic. Also, we had issues with locking our door at night. The hotel is fine, but with a few upgrades it could be excellent!
