Super location, and the studio room we had was huge, being the whole first floor with high windows looking over the canal. Had a very comfortable king bed and a single set up for our daughter. Slightly quirky, interesting furniture. Loads of storage space, a Nespresso machine and kettle, and a jar of mini stroop waffles and some apple tart to welcome us! Oh - there’s a spa bath too. Monique the owner is delightful and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful.

Nothing. Be aware though that the bath, toilet and shower are pretty much in the room so if privacy is your thing you may find it challenging!

Beautiful position on the canal and easy walk into the centre of Leiden . Lovely old house run by the delightful Monique ! Charming and helpful a truly perfect hostess . Breakfast in the morning was stunning - eggs on toast lovely yoghurt and fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice all brought up to our room . Very lovely and we will Definitely return

The stairs up to the room were fine for us but exceptionally steep and narrow (as is fitting for these lovely old houses - ) but some people may struggle to take luggage up - but the b and b makes this clear .

Clean and comfortable room, with bathroom adjacent, in a building modernized from the 1700s! Wonderful view of the canal on a very quiet residential street, yet adjacent to all things in Leiden. We wandered all over the city from our base at the B&B. Wonderful.

The bathroom, although private and very nicely appointed, was in a public hall shared by a member of the family. This was fine, just unexpected. Also, although designated a B&B, there was no public space for a breakfast. Breakfast was offered for a charge, but that seemed like too much trouble for both our host and for us.

Wonderful host - she let us drop off our luggage early, had it carried up the stairs to our room, checked in with us to see if we needed anything and helped greatly by booking a taxi to the airport on short notice when we were confronted with a train strike. Lovely, spacious and bright room. Very comfortable for our group of 3. We appreciated the lovely bottle of wine left for us.

The open concept bathroom area was unusual but we managed fine with it. Works best for a couple.

The room was unusually super-modern and large. It reminded me of the famous Gerard Hoffnung line "Sorry i have no bedroom with bath - but bathroom with bed I have...". Amazing for a room to have a handy additional gents urinal with its own tiny washbasin. An enormous washing basin besides. and shower as well as bath. The landlady, who lives below, provided all sorts of free extras, and stuff in the fridge, and even nipped out specially to buy some milk for our tea, as well as calling a taxi in the morning. So obliging and friendly despite we were only there for one night. Windows face west across wide canal in a quiet area, but cafes etc. very close - we liked the Engelnbak and had huts-pot as it was Leiden's Ontzet this week.

Slightly odd lighting - difficult to read by (there is a stocked bookshelf), without moving one of the two pin-prick standard lights across the room. (Not landlady's fault, but the taxi first picked up a different couple by mistake, standing outside the next hotel...). Would have been nice to be able to open the front windows a bit - the secondary double-glazing (very effective) is fixed. But you can open the east-facing rear windows to get air (there is a fan but no air-conditioning).

A very good find for tourists like us. Very large and very clean room with a view. Few extra amenities (fridge, tea kettle, coffee and coffee machine to start with) made our stay extra nice. Bunch of restaurants in 5-minutes radius, supermarket 4 minutes. Enjoy!

For us it wasn't a problem, but if you have vertigo: just be ready. If you take "our" room with a huge window toward the canal at the top floor, then you will need to brave 40 steps with 810(!) degrees of turn. Again, we were smiling all way up and down, but everyone is different.

This stay was a perfect blend of style and warmth, adding a delightful touch to my travels. After having stayed at a snug room with limited space for my favorite activities, like journaling and postcard writing, I luckily found accommodation at this pretty BnB for an extra night. Monique, was wonderfully attentive, ensuring a smooth check-out for my early departure the next day. Her warm welcome with a delicious very Holland-orange King’s Day cake, set the tone for a truly enchanting stay. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, offering luminous ample space and a cozy yet refined atmosphere. Equipped with modern amenities, including a hair iron! (which helped me to finally look presentable for a final dinner that day). Gracias, gracias, gracias. 🙏🏻

The lack of an elevator was a minor inconvenience to me, so in my perspective, it didn’t overshadow the overall magnificence of the experience. (I’d say it’s a perfect place for light travelers or those with a helping hand, who are looking to rest and spend some indoor time for some self-indulgence and care.)

Room was spacious and clean with facilities including a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. Lots of little extras including choice of tea bags and full size toiletries in the bathroom. The view from the window over the canal was lovely. The host very kindly allowed us to leave our luggage at the property earlier in the day and this was already in our room for us when we returned.

The wooden staircase was quite difficult to negotiate as we were on the second floor, but as our host explained the building dates from 1750, so can't be changed. We are in our early sixties and it was manageable but might be an issue for people with mobility issues or those with larger items of luggage.

Outstanding in every way!! VERY VERY SPACIOUS - unlike most Dutch hotel rooms in towns which are always TINY ,TINY because of the size of these ancient buildings. VERY Comfortable, modern and very well equipped. SUPER location on a canal, great views, easy parking in front, only a few minutes walk from or the sites and restaurants. We're retired and stay in 70 hotels a year. So far this is the highlight of 2025!

I had an absolutely lovely stay here! Due to a mix-up with my dates, I ended up booking both rooms and had the chance to experience them both. Each was fantastic in its own way. The luxury room boasts large, open windows and a more upscale, elegant vibe, while the other room offers a cozy, homey atmosphere. Both were amazing in their own right. Monique, the host, was incredibly kind, attentive to details, and always willing to help. I can't recommend this place enough!
