I spent there 7 nights. The hotel location is very convenient, a short walk from Karasuma Oike metro station, which gives access to both metro lines. Close to various kombini, it has an in-house Matsuya outlet, in case you want to eat something. Service is very friendly, and I could communicate effectively even with my limited Japanese. The room was immaculate, and correctly sized -- this is Japan, after all, and rooms are small in general; that being said, this one was very reasonable and quite comfortable. I enjoyed every day of my stay. Personally, I think it is very good value for money.

There is nothing to reproach, really. If I really have to find a point that could be improved, the communal spaces are quite limited: there are a few seats in the lobby at the ground floor, but little else. The microwave oven is also located at the ground level, so if you decide to dine in your room, you have to walk around the lobby with your food. Still, these are small details, I would not count them as problems.

The reception/check in process was alittle slow due to an extensive process, although at no fault to the staff as they were obviously following procedure and they were very friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to translate but having experienced many other hotels in Japan the check in was slow in comparison. However overall it was a great hotel, close to 2 metro lines walking distance to popular locations like Nishiki market and the room itself was very nice with a large bathroom.

Their room size is roughly as small as other hotels, but their room is just so well-designed in a way that the space is utilized much more efficiently. The shape of the desk is unconventional so that we have more desk space. The couch even has a little table for your drinks. The bed is so comfortable that I overslept lol and missed half day of my trip lol. I love the bathroom too. Anyway, this hotel is perfect for solo travellers. The only overall downside for me is perhaps the location(8/10 still) But the closest subway station is also a major subway station, which empowers a lot more possibilities. Check out time i believe was 12 noon, which was nice.

I didn’t check the window? When I went in it was already so dark. I forgot to set an alarm, so I overslept( 1000%my fault). I didn’t complain at all.

Friendly, professional service with English speaking receptionists that made me feel welcome. Centrally located, close to Karasuma Oike Station, restaurants, and shopping. Within walking distance to a lot of attractions. Matsuya, the restaurant downstairs, was a great casual, affordable option--and the food was great! And there's a Fresco grocery store just a block away. My single room was compact (small by Western standard), clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a small refrigerator, electric kettle, and flat screen TV. WiFi was good. The bed was firm, comfortable, and extra long (I'm 6' 0"). This is my second stay at a Hotel Unizo. Great value and service. Highly recommended!

I could have used a couple more hangers. They probably would have been happy to supply them, but I didn't ask. Honestly, that's all I can think of.

Good location, the room isn’t massive but very functionally arranged with a comfy bed, the best pillows, and a super powerful shower. Very clean. The staff were helpful :)

Not a big deal for me but don’t expect views from the room - the windows are frosted

The property is in a quiet area and well maintained. Teramachi street which is a huge shopping area is just 7-8 minutes walking. Even Nishiki market is less than a kilometre. It’s just 300-400 metres from the subway so very convenient. Rooms have all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. The best part, I was supposed to stay there for five nights but because of some urgency, I had to cut short the visit and I could stay only three nights. I was unable to modify the booking because I was already at the hotel reception and the cancellation time was over. The hotel staff itself modified my booking and charged me for three nights only. I am really thankful and grateful to them.

We know that in Japan rooms are small but it was too congested. Although I was alone, it was difficult to open a big suitcase. Compared to this, my hotel room in Tokyo had much more space. There are many things kept in the room which is not needed by every traveller. Some should be removed to make space. I couldn’t understand one thing, I had to leave the hotel at 5 am and was little worried whether I would be able to get a taxi so early in the morning or not. Despite my repeated requests, the hotel staff couldn’t book a taxi for me. Anyways, I got an Uber cab in the morning.

Nice and quiet area. Clean room. The staff was helpful in assisting us during the luggage shipment between this and the next hotel of our journey. Free water dispenser in the lobby area on each floor.

There are a lot of rooms in the hotel, but their laundry room only had 2 washing/drying machines for all guests. We ended up going to a coin laundry.

Good location, a short walk to the subway. The bathroom is modern. Facilities are nice and clean. There’s on-site washer and dryer which worked great. Staff is friendly enough. There’s a cafeteria adjacent to the hotel which is very convenient when restaurants turned me down (table for 1 at 6pm) because I didn’t have reservation.

The room is really really small. Staff didn’t provide extra services like helping me make a reservation at restaurant.

Breakfast was nice and quickly prepared, just point at the one you want, get a number and retrieve after two minutes or so. Tea / fruit juice was available from machines at the side. For vegetarians you can ask to not include the meat in the western option.

Breakfast has four options, the western option has very thick toast + some jam, runny eggs + two sausages, yogurt and some salad. It became very repetitive after a few days. I would advise to buy the breakfast tickets at the front desk per day (around 800 yen or so I believe) for a longer stay, to keep your options for breakfast at a different place open.

Room size was small but great for a solo traveler, the bed was positioned against the wall, but for a solo traveler, fine to just roll out of bed to one side. Had a tv, desk, and chair by the window with a small table. Spacious bathroom for Japan with tile. The drain was hidden away by a stainless steel piece that could be moved. Tub was a fantastic size for a bigger(near 6', 200+lb) man to fill up and relax in without trouble, with high sides. Ended up soaking the entire four days that I stayed. Inserting the room key by the door turned on the lights, flushed and cleaned the toilet and turned the tv/air on. The room came with a safe(not always a guarantee at other places in Japan), kettle, and pants press, of all things. The bathroom had a retractable clothesline built into the wall which I did use a couple of days since it was rainy. Washing machines in Japan are great, but dryers are not nearly as powerful, to which I would utilize the clothesline, especially after sink washing or tub washing a few articles of clothes that got wet the previous day. The location of this hotel, off of the main street and quiet, but still local to a subway station and 15 minutes walking from entertainment like a Round 1 or Donki, fit my needs as a traveler perfectly. There's an attached Matsuya through a sliding glass door with a touchscreen ordering system with English available that serves breakfast items but also lunch/dinner.

The washer and dryer were on the first floor in a separate room rather than available on multiple floors. There were also only two. The wash cycle is great but dryers in Japan are lackluster, luckily there is a retractable clothesline in the bathroom. Also, the tv turned on with the lights when inserting the card key. Nice for when you're in your room mid day, but after 12 hours of sightseeing, finding the remote to turn it off was a small thing but felt like a huge hassle when all you want to do is pass out for 6 hours.
