Overall, the hotel was brilliant . Clean. Well cared for and staff were amazing. Breakfast was brilliant and freshly cooked The housekeepers were very good and helpful.
It wasn't the fact we didn't like it. it was not suitable for us. We were there for my birthday and to go on the Jacobite train, and I really liked the look of the hotel without realising the Garrison was a little less comfortable. It's my fault for not checking properly. As an elderly couple, the beds were too firm, having arthritis, but explained to staff, and they provided more duvets to help. Also, the chair in the room was wooden and uncomfortable unless using a pillow . The shower room was brilliant and roomy.

The room was lovely and tidy, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were also very nice. The entire hotel was very clean and well presented. The breakfast was wonderful, with good variety on the menu. The location is fantastic, with lots of restaurants and shops close by on the high street. It is also within walking distance to the train station which aided our primary reason for the journey being a ride on the Jacobite Express.
The bathroom facilities were a bit smaller than expected. While not the largest problem, it would have been appreciated if lunch or dinner options were provided at the hotel. The only view from the room was the apartment suites. This meant that, for the time spent in the room, the blinds were pulled across for privacy and therefore there was effectively no view.

The room was modern and the bed comfortable. We opted for the smallest double and it was small with no seating area but enough for our needs. Lovely toiletries and snacks laid out. Some noise from hallway but not too late at night. Offered breakfast which looked a good deal but ate out both days. All in all, great value for money and managed to park round the back. I think we were lucky!! Very handy for town centre without being in the middle of the action on Mad Friday before Christmas.
Toilet flushing was a bit hit and miss. The cistern was trickling a lot and required a bit of jiggling.

It was the perfect location for our needs. A short drive to the sights in Glencoe, walkable to some lovely restaurants and shops, and possibly walkable to some markets when a bit warmer for those of us adjusted to warmer climates. It is also right across from the city center pier where we took a boat tour. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. It was a nice size for our family. The complimentary treats were a nice, unexpected touch. The staff also very kind to help us with an unexpected request when they could have easily just sent us to figure it out ourselves.
The bathroom doorframe looks like it should be replaced with a different material since it is damaged from moisture.

Lovley room with amazing views to wake up to in the mornings. The staff were amazing and very welcoming. Room had tea/ coffee which is a must. No hair straightener or iron
Although the room was amazing, i felt it was very dusty. Me and my friend stayed there .. and randomly as we would be watching tv etc something would fly/ float down in the room or even in the bathroom. I paid for a double standard room which was nice but felt it was very compact for 2 people, and tight squeeze. Whereas another friend was two doors down.. same standard double room howver that felt alot more bigger

What is there not to like, this hotel is fantastic. They staff are lovely and friendly. The rooms are amazing , lots of complimentary things in room. Highland soap company products in the bathroom. Every base has been covered . Rooms are decorated beautifully, and some quirky bits too. Just ace. Heated floor in the bathroom, slate floor, after being on motorbike defo a welcome treat for my tootsies.😍 Just cant rave enough about it and will defo be a returning customer. Just first class and remember to add breakfast with your room, food was fab and service excellent. To all the staff, youre doing a fab job ,keep it up.x😍👏

Breakfast was plentiful but sadly poached eggs were hard boiled. It was served hot, promptly & presented well. The room was a little on the small side but immaculately presented & spotless. Coat hangers were awkward to hang stuff on. Bed & bedding were extremely comfortable & we had a good nights sleep. The bathroom was spotless & shower was hot & powerful. Complimentary items were in abundance and of good quality. Towels were fresh & soft. We had travelled to Fort William on the Midland Pullman & the class of our trip was not compromised staying at the Garrison. The location was perfect being at the end of the high street & we had a mountain/loch view. There was some noise late at night from revellers but once we closed the windows it was fine.
The static coat hangers were really awkward to use. Other than that nothing else negative, all good.

The check-in was quick and the staff was very friendly. They held our luggage until our room was ready. We were not in the main building, but the suites in the back and they were very nice. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. The beds were comfortable. They had a kitchenette which we didn’t use, but it was nice to have. The location is excellent and right on the Main Street. Also a short walk to and from the train station. We had breakfast in the dining room and the food was good and service was friendly and quick.
We didnt have an elevator. But only one flight of stairs so overall, not an issue.

The hotel staff was super friendly and always ready to help. Our room was cleaned every day, which was great. We celebrated my anniversary at Fort William, and the hotel surprised me with a lovely card and a bottle of champagne when we arrived—such a thoughtful touch! The breakfast was also amazing and totally worth the £10 per person—we loved it! My husband and I felt so welcomed and at home. We’re really grateful for the warm hospitality and will definitely be back.

This whole experience was great and I would highly recommend staying at The Garrsion, the location was fantastic; very close to all local pubs, restaurants and shops. The rooms are very comfortable and all the treats and water were included in the price, as we were staying here for an extremely early start to climb Ben Nevis the morning after and as we had breakfast included but would be leaving before the hotel served the standard breakfast the staff member who checked us in helpfully arranged that we have a minimal breakfast laid out for us when we woke (3am) which was very much appreciated from all of our party!
