Loved the large lawned beer garden which was perfect for my two dogs. My room was exceptionally comfortable and spacious with quality furnishings. The food was delicious. Location was ideal for walks with or without pets. Short drive into Clitheroe.

My shower didn't work. Fortunately there was a bath. However, I do prefer to shower. I mentioned this on departure, the manager apologised. During breakfast there was music playing, a compilation of 60s,70s,80s etc. I thought it was too loud, certainly whilst having breakfast. My suggestion would be softer, quieter, possibly instrumental music playing in the background, if any needs to be played at all. I realise everyone has different tastes and may disagree.

From being greeted by Emilia on reception, an absolute amazing young lady, a true credit to The Shireburn Arms, hope she is there for our next visit. She gave us so much information about the Arms, together with info on the area which we were so grateful for. Her warmth and friendlyness was carried on through our visit. A big shout out to Jack, a new member of staff who was also a credit to the establishment. The food was amazing, the bar staff and breakfast staff carried on the exceptional service. Cannot rate this venue enough, a must for anyone wanting to visit the area. It is the second visit we have paid to this establishment, the first for a family wedding. Amazing, thank you The Shireburn Arm's. Peter, you and your staff are truly amazing.

Absolutely nothing.

Male domestic was very accommodating and lovely. He made our twin room a double without us asking (we forgot to put it in the notes and didn’t want to mither!) and gave us time to go about our day without feeling pressured for the domestic team to come in. Lovely man and service. General manager was lovely and personable. Great atmosphere at breakfast.

Room was a little too hot whilst getting ready but understandable for type of building. No issues overall.

Quaint hotel in a lovely setting for walking. Room was nice, bed was comfy and breakfast was great. Made the rookie error of booking the hotel based on its good food reviews and then didn’t prebook the restaurant (which was fully booked on arrival).

Hotel was busy on arrival 4pm ish - waited for ten mins to check in then went to bar to ask to check in. Friendly bar staff found front of house man but although he was smiling, he was rushed and it felt a bit like we were holding him up … then he gave us the news of the hotel restaurant being full. We’d been on the road since 5am so we’re looking forward to relaxing in the bar with a meal and heading to bed. It would have been lovely if he could have squeezed the 3 of us in. Would have eaten quickly and at any time!!! Instead we drove around for an hour trying to find a restaurant … a mistake we’ll not make again. This really did spoil our stay and won’t be booking a hotel again until I know they have room for a meal!

Lovely country pub with character in wonderful location for walking. Good sized, clean room. Friendly staff. Fantastic evening meal for a reasonable price. Lovely fresh breakfast with quality ingredients. Comfortable bed with nice quality bedding. Ideal for exploring the local countryside & they are super dog friendly!

The shower was a trickle. Gave it a a few attempts in case others using water at same time but the pressure was dreadful. Probably the worst hotel shower experience ever experienced. There was a clean bath (shower over bath) but we are not bath people & so went without the shower. Washed hair in sink & then realised there was no hairdryer in the room despite facilities stated there was a hairdryer available. Thankfully we were only there for the walking in the local area so hairstyles didn't matter! Also, we are sure the staff would have sorted any problems for us but we didn't like to make a fuss as it's such a lovely place & staff so friendly.

The decoration of the beamed property pays homage to an earlier period with an eclectic mix of seating in the bar/dining area with Lloyd Loom chairs and other very old style seating. The bedroom was a good proportion and decoration a delightful shabby chic. The bathroom was a good size. I only eat light at night and the crab cake starter on the starters menu was delicious. Breakfast as good. My Pet was made very welcome and there was good walking nearby.

Beautiful old Inn with lots of charm. Fantastic location on the Tolkien Trail. Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the fire when we had breakfast the first morning.

There were dirty glasses and crockery on the landing near our rooms the day we arrived. They were still there the second day into the evening so we had to let the bar staff know and I would have expected the cleaning staff to have moved them earlier in the day. Our room was given fresh towels but the bed wasn’t made. The extraction fan didn’t work in the bathroom and the shower pressure was poor. There were lots of dirty marks on the wallpaper which I think could have been removed with a damp cloth.

Eco shower didn't have much power behind it, so needed more time in the shower! Plug in basin didn't hold, so water constantly running when having a wash or shave Too small cups! It would have been nice to have had some fresh fruit at breakfast

Room spacious! Dinner and breakfast excellent.

Noise from of our room and everyone else’s toilet flushing…..especially during the night. Windows only opened a small way and so room was quite warm. Not having a dog free area to eat meals. Personally something we want…it’s ok if you are just having a drink but everyone seems to have at least one dog these days and unfortunately they aren’t all well behaved. A lot of places have dog free zones. No I don't hate dogs!

Everything! 2nd time we've stayed and it was perfect. We arrived early & we're able to check in straight away (we didn't ask to, but they offered it). All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was excellent (both evening meal and breakfast). Rooms were clean and comfortable. Slept really well due to well thought out black out quality curtains etc.Would definitely recommend. Surrounding countryside is beautiful with loads of walking opportunities.
