The assistant manager, the breakfast waitresses, the freebies in the room, the value for money, the vibes & location, the free parking, the food. What a fantastic stay we had. There’s so much negativity online but it’s down to their mental attitude; this is a 3-star hotel at a cheap price, and they do their rating justice, it’s brilliant!!! If you expect a 5-star hotel, go to a 5-star hotel and pay the respective pricing. The value for money in this place is fantastic; we loved the freebies in the room, the range of facilities, the staff were lovely; we made the most of our stay and we honestly enjoyed every moment. Thank you so much, keep up the great work!

Cold water shower in pool area, no USB or USB-C sockets in room, reception mobile number instead of a bell or buzzer.

Superb friendly staff team. We arrived late at night and the welcome was warm and reassuring.

- Rooms not very well sound-proofed. - Guests who smoke tend to stand around in an area outside which is too near the bedrooms. In fairness to the hotel, I don’t think this is the official smoking area. However, the smoke came straight up and we could smell it in the bedroom when the windows were open. Guests enjoying late-night socials would naturally chat in this area, so it’s a bit noisy. Again, this is not a criticism of the hotel or indeed the guests, but perhaps a limitation of the outdoor space.

Nice location, a short walk downhill to the town obviously uphill coming back. Several stairs up to your room (no lift). This is our 3rd yearly visit here, this time there was a wedding venue at the hotel which we weren’t told about in advance, as some of the facilities like the bar and the restaurant were closed for the wedding!

Unfortunately the wedding at the hotel made quite an impact on our stay. We had to go up the back steps to our room (helped by staff with our bags) couldn’t go back downstairs for 15mins while the speeches were taking place, then the route back downstairs brought you straight into the restaurant full of the wedding guests! The bar was also closed for this wedding too. Had I been told in advance of arriving I would’ve cancelled my stay but no advance warning at all. Also lots of banging doors early in the morning (7am). Sorry for the negativity as the last 2 years have been great 🤷‍♀️

Location was good for attending the event on the East Lancashire Railway which passes through Ramsbottom. Room was warm, comfortable and clean. I also used the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. All in good working order, but see below. Staff were good and evening meal was plain and simple, if a little expensive, but not many options in Ramsbottom on a wet Monday evening in October, so just fine.

Not much, all good, but the swimming pool is very cold and like the rest of the hotel, looking a little tired, but--good value for the cost. No really it was cold!

Handy location for us, as we were visiting family. The pool is an added bonus as my grandkids love swimming and spent over an hour in there splashing about and playing. Reception Staff here are lovely and always helpful. Dining room ladies at breakfast are always cheery, too. I dont eat at the hotel, but we love sitting on the big leather couches planning the day before heading out. This is my second stay here and won't be my last. It's an old hotel so it's a bit dated but the rooms are clean the bedding is fresh and you get a good supply of tea/coffee and biscuits in your room so that's all you need👍

Don't serve evening meal till 6pm, which was far too late for us, especially when you have a couple of young kids that need fed every hour but that's even worse after they been swimming 😂 It wasnt really a problem as Ramsbottom has plenty of other places to eat so we headed out and ate at the Railway pub that night and found a lovely Italian place the next night. We have had breakfast at the hotel once, on a previous stay. It was expensive for what it was, so now we go either Starbucks, greggs, or walk into town for breakfast as there's a much better choice for the money. Minor gripes and i confess all food related, but I dont go to this hotel for the food so it won't stop us from going back there as it is a lovely old place that we all really enjoy.

Firstly, Ramsbottom is a lovely place so glad we went. Read all the reviews about it being dated and all the rest and probably fair enough comments but its just a room to sleep in at the end of the day. The shower worked, the bed was comfy and the linen was fresh. Facilities were excellent and we took full advantage of them. Breakfast was tasty enough but we only ate there 1 day so maybe I'm not the best to comment on that aspect. I'm booking again in July for a couple of days as we loved our time there, even though we were out most of the time..... We had a great time relaxing in the bar with those big sofas.

Wouldn't say there was anything we didn't like, really. Think my partners only gripe was the tiny portion of baked beans at breakfast, but hardly a showstopper 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Stayed here several times. Location is perfect for me and the leisure facilities are a bonus. Room was clean as always and staff are really nice too.😎 Love the biscuits in the room and there usually the first to get eaten lol. Lounge has big old leather sofas so really great for parking your bum and working or just chilling....

I like the place, bit dated blah blah blah but it's always clean and friendly so I will always choose to stay here. Poo,l sauna, steam room, gym all included so what's not to like.😎

Was close.to.where we wanted as daughter was at a swim comp.all.weekend daughter loved that she was able to swim at night to cool down after a long day

I asked for a 7am wake up call n noone even came near our room the room was dark weout havin to put the main light on during day and was dust on surfaces which caused my chest to play up wasn't able to get hold of anyone till it was too late to change to a dust free room

The location was excellent - we were there for a train gala. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely garden with a stream at the front. I used the leisure centre pool - the water was cloudy, a bit off putting, but the jacuzzi was good. The staff were all lovely - very friendly and helpful

It needs a bit of a refurb - just some decorating would help. The cloudiness of the swimming pool - also the floor tiles were very slippery.

Nice friendly welcoming staff at all times giving great services, very good choice at breakfast time something to suit everyone . Enjoyed the leisure facilities swimming pool and jacuzzi . Great location within a short walk to town centre with a selection of bars and restaurants .

Pool facilities could do with getting a bit of a spruce up as looking a bit dated. Rooms were really warm and stuffy due to the weather being warm , wish we had asked for a fan .
