Great location. Didn't have breakfast this time but we have had it before and it was really good. All staff were great especially Dylan in the bar so helpful and gave us information on things to do With the girls my granddaughter Luci cried when she went to say goodbye and realised he was off for he was always there. So she left him a wee note to say Thanks.

Renovations where being done but it didn't annoy or stay. We decided to stay another night . The only thing was on the first night the girls didn't get to sleep to after 2am with the noise coming from room 305 .

Staff where very helpful and friendly, especially the guy who was doing the breakfast service. The girl at the check in desk was friendly and helpful also. The breakfast was outstanding with a lot of choice between hot food,cereal sweet treats and fruit along with different breads. Room was a great size and beds very comfortable.

Although the ground floor was under renovation we where made aware but were not made aware that the jacuzzi was out of order for the foreseeable. Also the pool was freezing and my daughter was only able to spend 10 mins in there as it was that cold. The room was lovely but it was a bit dusty and some of the furniture could be doing with an upgrade esp the table and chairs in the room.

I thought the girls on reception were not attentive enough when booking me in, they seemed to be worried about what was going on in the lobby than checking me in. Also the parking, I asked could I park downstairs and she said you can but there might not be a space, she didn’t offer me any information of where else I could park

Breakfast was tasty and good selection of options to choose from on both mornings of our stay. Ample seating area so there was never any delays when checking in for breakfast. We dined in Thompson's Restaurant on the first night of our stay with family members and both food and table service were very good, with nice atmosphere around the place. The family room (booked as a twin) was exceptionally spacious, and the double beds were extremely comfortable. Both the room and bathroom were spotless. Great selection of streaming services on TV to choose from for relaxation. The location is great - so close to the iconic Peace Bridge, Guild Hall and other landmarks around the city. The concierge 'Gerry from Derry' was very friendly and most helpful on recommending dining options and tours etc. Also very helpful when it came to checking out spaces in car park in basement - and bonus to have FREE parking on-site. I will definitely stay there on my next visit to Derry.

Very difficult to pick out anything in particular that we didn't like about City Hotel in Derry. The only issue is with parking - max. 40 spaces in underground car park, and only alternative is parking next door at the Quayside Shopping Centre, which is quite expensive - £24 for non-residents; £12 for residents - on overnight basis. The staff on reception not as friendly as other staff members in bar and restaurant, but that's only a minor complaint.

We are a couple in our 80's and still attend keep fit classes,we achieved our daily target walks in our travel throughout Derry City,we had one exception to our routine as we took a Taxi to the City Cemetery to visit John Hume's grave,one of our big hero's.We crossed the famous peace Bridge and strolled around the many views from there.Our Hotel was the essence of friendliness alway willing to help and direct you.The hills the City is built on are an exceptional challenge.The reward however are the many interesting and historical places and artificics around the City are most interesting including all the big Cannon Pieces.We had proper footware which is a must on the many steps,you may climb.We were spoiled by our Hotel food,and our favourite tipples which were available was an extra surprise.What did I not like,now this is very hard to say,we hit some bad weather,which curtailed our adventure around the city,in lieu of some walks I was dragged into some of the many popular stores around the City,let me tell you all ic the big brands are here and I was not quite prepared for the amount of stores we visited.I an not a shopping person but for the sake of our marriage I duly tagged along with the store visits.Returning to the Hotel each night was the big treat a few of my favorite tipples and good food was always a great end to the day.

I did not find any great information on the city graveyard.I would liked to have found some historic data on it.I did however find a little book called "The Little book of Derry" which was a great substitute,this was a great help.

The city hotel is very welcoming. We loved our room 306 with 2 massive double beds a great bathroom and plenty of room . I forgot to ask for a walk in shower as I can't get into the bath to shower but my fault. Room decor was lovely but the curtains didn't pull as one was off the runners but it certainly didn't spoil our night there . The staff all round where amazing and next time we will try the food as it looked lovely . The cocktails where wonderful and the sav blanc white wine was delicious . Breakfast was a good choice and the seating area was very spacious and not cramped at all . Hot chocolate was delicious . My son never woke for breakfast so the front of staff lady was amazing and let me take up breakfast to the room for him x location was excellent and down the road on the left opposite the indian we where able to park and pay by app which worked out very cheap and I could go on the app in the morning and re do my parking so easy x Thanku all for a wonderful stay we will be back . Breakfast was beautiful. Location was fantastic. Bar was good for drinks and all staff very friendly.

We stayed for 2 nights. On 2nd day, arrived back to hotel room at 3:30 and room had not been cleaned or bed changed etc. went out to corridor a short while later and asked house keeping for extra towels etc. they gave me what I asked for and told.me they would be round to clean room shortly. Waited till 4:15 but ended up having to put DO NOT DISTTURB notification on door as was getting shower and ready for evening meal. Also found the bedroom EXTREMELY hot Uncomfortable to sleep in and get ready. We had a fan in bedroom but still very hot and humid

Room was nice

Breakfast was just ok. The way it is layed out causes a long queue as the toaster is first so people put the bread in and wait for it to toast before moving on to the food. If it were located in a different place this wouldn't happen. The toaster is very poor. Literally warms the bread and if you put it in again it burns! Don't like that the tea and coffee are from machines again leads to queues. Hard to beat having a pot of tea at the table so you can top up without having to get one from your food to get more tea.

Location . Staff . Spacious rooms with toiletries & tea / coffee maker . Front desk staff were very helpful The concierge was fantastic . Barfood was very good. Good service for drinks . Plenty of seating in bar & lobby aera . Good coffee in the bar . Two rooms from our bookings were available shortly after arrival, which was great . Family were able to use the leisure facilities straight away . Pastries at breakfast were good , overall, hot food was fine .

Gluten-free options could have been better( not presented very well ) . Hot breakfast service was a bit chaotic. It was explained by staff member on arrival that the hot breakfast & toast was served by the staff, but as the plates were at the start of the counter, guests were trying to help themselves. Coffee was from a self-service machine only / pots available to make your own tea . Limited fresh fruit options . Overall, the food was good for breakfast. There is plenty of staff to help with any request .

Great hotel, v busy, staff attentive.. Porter great craic Morgan in the restaurant was exceptional, what an asset... thank you Megan & girls.. Our meal was fabulous

3 rooms for 7 friends, emailed n spoke to reception weeks b4 about it and asked for rooms close together, lovely person on phone who assured they'd do v best... 2 we're and wer great big rooms with river/bridge view... but 1 was soooo far away down 2 corridors from our friends , room small, dark, faced a red brick wall.. so disappointed so spoke to reception... Got a manager called Michelle who had attitude from the minute she spoke to me,.. No help at all, act didn't care one bit.. and act came across as "you haven't a hope cos I say so" She alone let the entire staff team down.. Perhaps more customer service training needed for her.!
