This is a bare bones motel. Totally worth the price. The room was very clean and the linens and beddings seemed brand new. The beds were VERY comfortable. The motel supplies soap and shampoo and has a GREAT fridge and microwave. There is no coffee machine. We brought our own, so no problem. (There is a Starbucks close by.) Loved the owner, Ed.

Access to the room is fast and easy with parking right in front of the room. Even though it is a basic hotel, the property is well taken care off with clean rooms, sheets and grounds. The owner makes you feel welcome and assures your comfort.

I come to the Santa Clara area once each year for work and I always stay at the Sterling Inn. The price is very affordable especially for the area which is generally quite expensive. The rooms…while not fancy…are always clean and comfortable and the staff is always so friendly.

While I love staying at the Sterling Inn, some travels might find the rooms too spartan and not “plush” enough for their liking. For example, the bathroom amenities like hand soap and shampoo are a bit skimpy.

My first time in San Jose for a work trip. The host at the desk was so friendly and welcoming. The property was very well maintained and was newly renovated outside and in. Bed and pillows were so comfy. I’m sensitive to sounds and it was a very quiet and cozy room. The location was great, very close to restaurants (Wicked Chicken was yummy).

Took a while for the shower to get hot. You could save a lot of money in the water bill if you had the hot water source closer to each unit. :)

While the property is a bit dated. Room has all one needs. Fridge, microwave, large TV and comfy bed. I loved no carpet. Owner is extremely accommodating, professional and kind! My stay was unexpected. Husband required emergency surgery three hours away from home. I was stressed to say the least. Owner provided safe accommodations and was wonderfully flexible and accommodating.

The room was very clean with a large shower & fridge. I really liked how close the hotel was to the bus line & how easy it was to catch the bus to where I wanted to go in Santa Clara & San Jose. There were also a ton of food options nearby along with a Safeway a short walk away to get supplies.

There was a minor dent in the bathroom door & some of the tile in the shower was chipped. Apart from that there was nothing else maintenance wise that needed to be fixed. Everything was clean & modern.

It was very close to the airport but did not hear air traffic. Was very close to the concert hall. It was quiet, clean a clean convenient too walk to eat or go to the store. Ed, the Manager was very friendly and concerned about waiting for the unreliable Yellow Checkered cab that never shows up for a reservation made 2 days in advance for the Cher show! I would stay again if in the area!

No coffee maker!

This is my go-to for visiting my college kid. The rooms are very clean, and the location (near Santa Clara U) is just where I want to be. The business is family-owned and operated and the staff is friendly and helpful.

If you're looking for luxe, this isn't it... but it's excellent for what it is.

The owner is great. He remembered that I visited a few years ago and he remembered my name. The room has been recently renovated. My boyfriend and I LOVED the shower and were super impressed with the refrigerator in the room since I usually bring most of our meals with me when we travel. The pillows were good as well. I usually bring my own because you usually get these squishy pillows that just suck! There was a dominos, Ike's sandwiches, Round Table, Sushi, and Mexican restaurant across the street. Safeway is a block away.

The satellite TV unfortunately would cut out every hour so we would be watching a movie and it would go out on us. The hotel only offers Queen beds and I really need a King bed because my boyfriend is 6'3". The room was a little warm but there is a heater/AC unit so that helped bring the temperature down.

This hotel was a great spot for a quick stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with fresh bedding and sheets. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was unbeatable - cafes and pizzerias were right across the street! However, the shower pressure was a major letdown. If you enjoy a powerful shower, this might not be the best place for you. Otherwise, this hotel is a solid option for a comfortable and convenient stay.
