- Staff were very friendly and helpful, reach-above-and-beyond sort of attitude and energy. - Short walk to attractions in the city and JR station. - Surrounded by shops and restaurants. - Serviced car park (JPY1,200 per night, free to drive in and out at any time, pay at reception at check-in after car is parked) in the separate building next door. First in best dressed, or alternate would be arrange at nearby car parks with no extra cost. - Coin operated laundry facilities were available for a small fee, instructions were clear and available in English. - Microwaves were available in the laundry rooms, free to use.

- Not enough hanging spaces in the room for clothes which can’t be tumble dried. - Customers should be very aware of when their laundry is done and avoid keeping the others waiting, those are basic manners.

Clean, close to the train station, konbini nearby, great breakfast buffet (must like Japanese style food). The staff was exceptional—rather than store our bags prior to checking in they gave us a room that was already cleaned. Very quiet, good ability to control the temperature in our room, good light blocking curtains. Laundry facilities were easy to use, would like to see these types of facilities in America.

Liked it all—the room is smaller than what you would typically see in America, but a good floor plan and relatively large for Japan.

Location 5 minutes from the train station cannot be beat. Room was very clean with ample space. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Secure luggage storage in a back room. High quality amenity bar in the lobby for all your needs. The breakfast buffet is very worth it - ¥1,200 for a huge selection. We paid at the front desk for the breakfast and they give you a ticket to take down to the restaurant located on the ground floor. Neighbourhood is nice compared to other parts of Matsumoto.

Good location, very A very comfortable bed and a great view from the room on the top/10th floor. It was great to be able to see when the washer/driers were free on the 7th and 3rd floors.... you could see and monitor this on the room TV. The breakfast, at only 1200 Yen each, was exceptional.

Unfortunately the drier, even after 3 runs, didn't dry the cloths very well.

A good hotel in the center of Matsumoto, near the station and various tourist attractions. The hotel was clean, and guests can pick up necessary toiletries, cosmetics, tea, and coffee at the reception. The laundry facilities are very convenient, with the ability to monitor the status of the washing machines on your room's TV. The breakfast was generally good, predominantly Japanese style, but there are also options that cater to foreign tourists.

I have stayed in Matsumoto multiple times for work but this was my first visit to Richmond Hotel. Definitely the best hotel of this type - Western / business - that I've stay in while in Matsumoto. My room was large, quiet, clean and comfortable. Check-in was easy and my entire stay was enjoyable. Definitely my new go-to hotel when in Matsumoto.

Excellent buffet breakfast with a wide range of choices including a good coffee machine. Room was very modern, well equipped and comfortable. Location was quiet. Also the hotel is close to many restaurants and the train station is just over 400m away.

Pleasant staff. Generous amenities to take as needed. A cushioned stool in addition to the chair made the room comfortable for two people.

Corridors were dated. Although it was a non-smoking room, it still has a faint smell of cigarettes.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a good location. The staff exceeded my expectations.They were very helpful and friendly.

The bathroom was small but functional. The breakfast had good variety, but not a good quality of food.

Superb locations ..close proximity to all the eateries and JR station…provided face mask for daily use is definitely a plus and nice gesture. Will stay in this hotel again if revisiting matsutomo
